I've been using the AB-5000 Adjustable Zero Gap Bench from REP Fitness in my home gym and Commercial Gym for nearly 3 years. When it first came out, I immediately ordered it and I've been using it over that time period for the obvious things like bench press, rows, and incline curls, but also box jumps, box squats, and more.
The REP AB-5000 and the AB-5100 both offer some unique qualities, but the ability to adjust the seat bad so there's no gap, is definitely well liked amongst the home gym community.

#repzerogapbench - Спорт
I didn’t even notice a bench in the video. I was mesmerized by Coop’s lower pecs.
I own 6 benches currently, yet here I am contemplating more. Thanks Coop.
Coop be like: Six benches is a good start BUT you need a third and forth squat rack
7 is the number of completion. Go for it!
Surprised you don’t already have this 🤔
I actually love how u watch coops shit…Brandon’s a real 1
Is it true he tracks mod RUclips views as a performance metric …?
5:13 - Wrong side of the calipers, measurement invalid.
I was originally gonna get this bench, but realized speed/ease of adjusting was more important to me than the gap, so went for the Rep AB-5200, and love it
Waited months for this to come in stock, and it was completely worth it.
Although not designed for it, if you flip the leg roller attachment upside down when the bench is flat, it can be used for Nordic curls as well.
Yup, I was gonna get a ghd but got the leg attachment instead and saved space and moneh
That's exactly what I do! I place a small piece of foam under my knees for more comfort (Rogue's Abmat Hip Thrust Pad). I also tie down a strap between the upside down attachment to the olympic bar above it (resting on my rack), so I can get band assistance from the bar to my body/neck area. The strap prevents the bar from "escaping" and falling off the J-cups (and landing on your ass lol).
you're a genius, I love this idea
This was the 1 question I had on the bench, so thank you! I thought it might work but wasn't sure
what about using it for lat pull downs?
I use the bench gap to know where I’m at for my bench press or skull crushers. Similar to the rings on a barbell.
In "Coopville" the only way this bench could be better is if the whole frame was knurled.
That, and instead of calling the current pads "grippy" pads, just call them knurled pads.
I’ve never really noticed a gap. But I wonder what no gap would feel like
Like angels singing. I love my ab5k.
Honestly it would fee weird without one now I like the feeling feels snug😂
the leather would last longer i reckon. less pressure shared by closer sections.
Better than Sex in Coops garage.
you only feel the gap difference if you have a flat ass. zero gap is unnecessary imo. my prime fitness bench half half an inch gap but I don't feel the gap at all.
Thanks man, your review was so thorough
So here I am, watching a very cool bench I can't have at the moment because they don't do international shipping (I'm from Mexico) and because of Covid the border is closed, yet I'm starting my home gym and just ordered my first bench from Amazon which maybe is trash compared to these REP benches but for the price will work until the border is open again. I have decided to buy the REP AB-3100 because of this channel, thanks man! I have been following your channel for a month now and I have been enjoying the content. Good stuff.
“You can, absolutely damage your spine” 😂
Thanks for validating with a caliper, now I feel more at ease
😂😂😂
The ZG makes it glorious for back rows, never knew I needed this until I copped one once they came back in stock months later during COVID.
Thanks Coop, perfect timing, I was between this and the 5200, but I hate a bench gap, I think this one is for me!
you wont regret it, I love mine
I’ve had this bench since it first came out. Absolutely solid as hell no regrets at all even compared to higher end brands,
Have had this bench for almost a year now and love it. It is heavy as hell tho. Stands up perfectly fine.
I've had a nebula 1080 for years but this offering from rep does make me want to try this bench out. I do like the original pad on the 1080 as it appears thicker then reps offering.
Have this bench and love it. But can't say I've used many of it's competitors. Seemed like the best deal when considering all the features and functionality vs the competition. Feels as sturdy as any bench I've ever used in a commercial gym.
Coop thanks for all the great reviews! Can you please do a review on the new Rogue adjustable bench 3.0, looks sick
My REP AB3100 is all I need. Awesome video as always.
Coop, get REP to send you a new one of these to compare to the old one. The new pads are better and mine at least doesn't wobble like yours does. Its solid AF.
I have the zero gap and really like it. It is so heavy and stable where I can bench incline or use it for other various incline movements or cable work. I was surprised how solid it is. My friends even commented on how solid it was when working out. Now currently idk. Since REP has increased their tolerances limit and people have been reporting issues with alignment and crooked pads. At that premium price I would not want to worry that it would be sub par. They are getting into rogue prices with worse quality than Titan.
👍👍👍 I've owned this bench for around 1 year now; It was a great decision. The only slight drawback is as Coop said, it's a little heavy at ~ 120 lbs. I stand it up in the squat rack after each use. I bought it because of the zero gap but also because a lot of my benching is decline. The decline takes a lot of stress off the shoulders and concentrates it on the pecs; I've made greater progress since I added in decline bench & no problems with my shoulders after several decades of benching... I definitely recommend this bench to anyone contemplating it.
The comment on the “pop pin is more secure compared to a ladder bench” is debatable. The gym I go to uses Legend incline benches (no slouch in quality) and the pop pins are f-d. The pin doesn’t fully go through the securing hole properly. The user is at the mercy of the alignment of the pop pin to the adjustment frame. I’ve selected an incline option once, and leaned back and, BAM, fell into a flat bench position - pretty dangerous. I’d feel safer with a ladder system, personally.
I'd imagine that the bench at your gym has gotten more use and abuse than any 1 person could throw at their bench at home.
I'd love to see a super cut of all the times coop says "however" in all of these vids! Thanks for the content!
Yea I love this bench, thanks for reviewing it. The bench is highly underrated for the decline flexibility with the quality weight capacity rating + zero GAP ! 🤤at a solid price
Love the Gap feature!
Thanks Coop!
Would be nice to see a full review of the new(ish) Ironmaster Super Bench Pro. It's not commercial grade like this bench, but it's still very solid and should meet the needs of most lifters while being very versatile and easy to use.
I'm interested in that brand too.
Wow the bench looks nice! Time for us to make a review about this bench too 💪🏽
Hey Coop love your videos and content! Curious about your thoughts on the new Rogue Adjustable 3.0 bench.
Coop, thanks for the great video; as always! Any chance you will do a review/comparison on the new Get Rxd vs Rep bench?
I have owned quite a few benches . The ab5000 zero gap is the best one I've owned. Coop is right it feels like its bolted to the ground. I even had a hoist cf3160 and that is a monster of a bench that is used in gyms. Rep just has the best benches on the market. I also just purchased it a few months ago and it doesn't have any type of play that people had issues with the older version. Looks like Rep made some improvements.
And the sound of the pop pins is just one sexy machine
Great review
That’s a really nice bench. Getting in and out of the decline looks like it could be a challenge.
The an- 5000 looks like an excellent fid bench. I wish I would of known of your reviews before I purchased my gym equipment.
Although I don't do much decline work I still like the option and also the ability to do ab work. I've read many complaints about the difficulty of adjusting it but Coop has alleviated my concerns about it being an issue. This looks like it fits the bill for me.
I just unpacked my AB-5000 Yesterday. Here Coop is reviewing it today. Coincidence? I think the Gods have spoken 🙏
I have the AB-3000 and I love it. It was my upgrade from a flat Marcy bench. I wouldn’t mind trying the 5000 but is it worth the almost $300 price difference? I think I bought it partially off of Coop’s review.
Fellow first batch owner here as well. I love the bench, but do have a few minor gripes. Some of the screws/bolts have come loose. I found one on the floor. Some Locktite would have likely helped prevent that issue. I also agree about the tolerances. When the bolts had loosened, there was more play in the back pad. The angle arm that goes through the supports for the back pad was rubbing upon adjustment as well. I'd like to see some UHMD or plastic spacer in that gap, so it's not metal on metal. Other than those nitpicks, this is a great adjustable bench. And watch those fingers when adjusting with the leg rollers on!
I also had an issue with some screws on my AB5K coming off. I contacted REP and they sent me out replacements for free and pretty quickly too. FWIW
@@Faust1134 The manual or original instruction/assembly video did say they required some occassional retightening. I didn't lose or damage any, but it seems like Locktite would resolve that problem.
I’ve had it for two years, a bolt came off somewhere yesterday and the small part of the bench has always wiggled around but it’s nice.
Best part of these videos is scanning the background to see what other stuff he has in there.
Should review the Ironmaster Super Bench Pro. Great all in one bench
That bench was a unicorn to try and buy last year.
Thought about buying it when it first came out. It was never in stock. Bought the fb5000 and no regrets.
I have been using this bench for 2 month. except 1 broken bolt(they immediately send me a new one). This bench worth every penny. I felt the soreness from my chest after every workout since I used it.
ordered one today based on your recommendations.
Got this bench under the uk brand bulldog gear, great bench solid, would highly recommend
Great review , just ordered a bunch using your link.
Weird question... who makes those spherical dumbbells?
I got one after your first recommendation!
Nice idea
I have this bench, I love it!!
Love this bench! Only one I own
Luv rep fitness!
Nice one Coop, do they ship to Australia?
I wanted that silver one. I believe it's discontinued. I ended up with a Red one late last year. Just got my All red PR-5000 to match the bench. Both are amazing.
The ironmaster bench offers many of the same features for less(including free shipping), but reps is probably still the preferred bench.
Rep is more commercial grade construction. Ironmaster is more versatile, easier to use, better fit and finish, and made in Taiwan instead of China. Also Ironmaster's narrower bench is better for dumbbell work while the Rep's wider bench is better for flat bench. Ironmaster offers the wider hybrid bench for $70. I'm leaning heavily towards Ironmaster.
I have both the super bench with the wide pad and the zero gap. The superbench is superb and all the attachments pretty much work well especially for a small space. The zero gap is a different beast. It better detailed with the laser cut numbers , more solid , definitely better quality its a damn tank.
Superbench- home bench
Zerogap- commercial gym bench
Both are really good. Can't go wrong with either
Decline is the best option for bench from a bodybuilding standpoint. You get more activation overall and moving in the direction the shoulder wants to move in during horizontal adduction.
Seriously for all of you who can’t seem to make gains on their chest. Do things like decline dumbbell or extreme decline dual cable press and stop wasting time with the barbell unless your training specifically for the bench press.
Ditch the incline for front cable raises (great stimulation of clavicular pec major fibers as well as matching the strength curve for anterior deltoid)
I prefer the iron master superbench pro. For a very constraint space it is the most versatile bench I know. It has a pull-up attachment, it can do declined and very stable.
The pin pop system LOOKS so much nicer than a ladder system too.
Grate video as usual just one thing what's the name of the song you use in the intro
Would be interested to see a comparison with the updated AB-5200. Though I already own the zero gap, I prefer the speed of the ladder style adjustment.
I’ve had my ZG for about 8 months now. It’s way better than the benches at my commercial gym!
That's not really saying much given what I've seen in commercial gyms. My fb5000 is way better than anything in a commerical gym could dream to be.
I used to own this bench. The first one I got was crooked and wobbly. REP sent me another, which was better but still had missing hardware and over torqued bolts. Sold it during gympocalypse 2020 and bought the ladder frame Rogue. No comparison. Rogue is so much more stable and higher quality.
wish I would have found your channel before I bought a starter home gym
Zero Gap owner here, yeah its a bit unwieldy with the weight and the way the handle is designed but that issue is negligible and it has absolutely ZERO movement when using it, its a tank and I love the thing. I prefer the "pin pop" design because you know its locked in and hell, you can even drill more holes if you really wanted that perfect angle I would imagine. Regardless, the zero-gap function is a game-changer IMO.
Those weights look like giant black olives; you know the kind you put on your fingertips as a kid... XD
Coop any plans for an updated review of the fatbells / CMB’s? Not too many reviews out there for these guys
Can you do a review on the titan max adjustable bench please!!!
It’s adjustable bench szn 😎😎
A wood 2”x4” is 1.5”x3.5”
... and $5000.00
These benches are solid. I really like mine, but I wish it had more adjustment points for the back angles.
You could always drill more holes!
@@OfficialMarkZuckerberg you're right, I could. If I had the tools to do so. For this price point, I would appreciate the holes drilled from the factory especially since they take the time to laser cut their logo on the decorative plates that they attach.
@@drdamonmccune I mean its really just preference at this point, I don't think they skimped out on anything. I think a drill and some bits would do the job easily.
Could you review and compare it to the ntaifitness AB1 adjustable bench with leg extension, leg curl ,preacher curl and back extension ? Seems to be the best complete version of this bench but even cheaper.Thank you and awesome video 👍🏻
Never heard of this company but this does look like a nice bench at about half the price. Would be interesting for Coop to review it. Also the buying process.
not the only company that sell this. sold in the UK as well by Bulldog Gear
Thanks Coop. Been looking at REP's FID Bench, but this Zero gap with the decline add on may be the better option, though almost double the price!
I prefer that older pad-cover material rather than the newer gripper one that is harder to clean and leaves marks.
I like this channel because Coop is funny guy
its a really nice bench. and sooo solid. but yes, it is crazy heavy. not really a move every few years kind of bench. im glad they updated the pad. it was its only weakpoint
Hi. What is a good adjustable bench that has leg extension and curl attachment? Thanks
I have the zero gap bench and love it. But does anyone know why the spotter stand isn't compatible with this bench? I like to do preacher curls from the back but I'm too short and it's pretty difficult to do them comfortably. Or any recommendations on a spotter stand?
Is REP ever going to come to Canada?
Mine is falling apart, and I'm devastated. Having a home gym without the ability to do incline/decline is significantly more stressful than you'd think. Before this happened, though, it was the best bench I have ever used.
What's falling apart exactly? I just picked one up yesterday...
Definitely would like more info on how it is falling apart. I’ve had mine for a year and mine is rock solid. I definitely haven’t used it as much as some home gym owners, since I do a lot of workouts at the big box gym, but idk how it could break down anytime soon.
@@briantetreault2095 Where did you manage to pick one up? They are out of stock everywhere.
Im curious too, mine is a tank and I couldn't imagine it falling apart even in a commercial gym
I have mine for a year and it is used many times a week by more than one person. It is still like new. I would like to know what to watch it for if something could break on it. I can't imagine what though.
the gap keeps me from sliding i like it
Alot of talk on the Inspire FTX, what are your thoughts?
That mustache is quite a commitment.
Just got this bench. Dear Lord, it is heavy. I haven't measured it, but I'd say100-120lbs easily. But it looks and feels like a bench that you will use for 50 years, it is truly hardcore.
That ending click was crisp as!
как всегда оптимистичен с толикой недосказанности и ароматом интриги)))
do you have a comparison between this bench and the ab 3000?
Does this Zero-Gap Bench come with a ladder to get into that decline position. What do you recommend for a decline bench. Oh sh*t just found your favorite benches. Thanks for the great review.
Use wd40 and tape
Its honestly not that hard to get in and out.
Does the seat portion go down when doing declines so it is all in one line? What degree is it at? I'm 6'3 and want to be able to lay flat and not hit my head on the seat.
Looks like Coop has a screw loose @ 10:00 but we knew that already… 😁
Hate having a big gap on an adjustable bench, going to sort it
Seriously asking... what is the difference with gap or no gap? I feel like it’s not necessary to have the sliding piece
Can this be tightened up for less flexion ?
The amount of tapping on the bench kills me 😅
Is synergee adjustable bench any good?
I'd like to see some of these companies come out with a half height back bench with attached foot plates in front a couple feet for leg drive specifically for doing seated overhead presses. Titan just released one but, as with most of it's V1 products, it looks to be a steaming pile of garbage. There are commercial versions I guess but they're expensive as hell. Maybe it could have an adjustable back height? Nah, that's a stupid idea...
I got exact same bench made by Verve Fitness in Australia. Everyone got same design. Wonder who is really innovating🤔
I don't mind the gap on my bench, it's not big enough to sink into but gives me a bit of butt grip.
