    i dont think i am allowed to to buy vehicles to "part out" anymore... the last jeep xj that i "bought for parts" was only $720. it was missing all of glass and the driver seat, but turns out it ran well and had no rust. so now i have put about $7k into it, it looks like a new jeep (5.5" long arm, 35"s, locked, with ford 8.8....)

      Haha that’s awesome! Very cool you were able to flip it around like that!

    spot welds suck. there is no easy way to do that. great tip with the heat gun on the seats. it also works good for plastic parts that get those white stress marks from bending. it the stressed areas with low heat and it will look good as new.

      @jtmoffroad  5 лет назад

      Ah good to know about the bending plastic trick!

    That spot weld bit, looks alot like our carbide bits at work for the mag drill. Gotta center punch good, that will help keep the bit from walking on ya. Nice work dude 🤙

      @jtmoffroad  5 лет назад +1

      That’s a good point. I was getting lazy and should have used the punch haha

    83 cj7 here. I don't leave it out at night. When I have moved in the past I make sure my jeep gets a garage. It's no pornstar, got some rust, paint is scratched up, hood is tweaked from flipping up. But I'm not leaving her out to get stolen, moldy, stolen. On my second steering column per they beat the crap out if it, when any gm key would work back then. That's the year it got a garage. Don't feel snooty. If it's cold out, they are cold too, bring them inside.

    @ 12:27 , how did you learn that it’s the orange & black wires which are the connector’s positive & negative ? Did you find a wiring diagram for the seat , or did you find out a different way ?

    I know its been a while, but those harbor freight bits are terrible. Summit racing sells a set that works great. Same type of design but way higher quality.
