JJ, my mom loved this song too. We had the 8 track tape and a Fisher Hi Fi …I was in 8th or 9th grade a. While she didn’t ask us to be quiet, she cranked it. Good memories.

I learned to play guitar by getting together at friends' houses and showing one another the songs we had just learned.
James is like an old friend you can learn songs with. This channel takes me back to some of the best times of my life.

Good Mom story James.👌 Mine was very musical, playing piano and marching snare and singing with her three sisters. I got my musical "abilities" from her. She just recently passed on July 5th at 90.

    Excellent work JJ !!
Terri was the “go” in Chicago. Such a tragic story.
I, like many, have a secret love of ‘70’s sapp tunes. Well perhaps not so secret these days - but anyway, this is a timeless tune with melodies that stick like pine tar in your head….for days.
Your vids always hit the sweet spots with efficiency. This one especially. 10 minutes. Like the reverend Billy G always says “you gotta hit it and quit it.”
Btw - that chord is a Gm (Am w/capo) inversion with the 5th in the bass - open D string (E w/capo). The root being on the high E.
Everybody knows this tune, but now they know how to play it. Thank you JJ.

I am not sure why you do not leave your pointer finger on G1, make your A with middle, ring, and pinky and the just lift ring and pinky for the other chord.

I noticed as Peter aged he lowered the capo until in 2017 at NOTP in Belgium it was gone. Not being blessed with his tenor voice, it’s much easier for me to sing in a lower key.
