Does anything special have to happen if you’re doing German short rows on a neck band that’s ribbed using this through the back loop? Can a knitter once having worked across and turned to the Purl side - does the knitter have to now work on the Purl side on the front loop in ribbing pattern and once turning the work again - continue on the knit side working through the back loop?
    Thoughts?

that was very helpful but I am curious as to why one needs to do it... My pattern says to do it at the beginning of rows of rib so is it to make it sit flat?

I had the same question: why would one need to do this? Did you figure out?

Jo Standaar and Joode, your beginning of rows sometimes can be loose and leaves the edge sloppy if you don't have that problem there is no need to do this. Knitting in the back loop twists the stitch and therefore tightens it up. Give it a try and see if you like it. I hope this helped.

@@peachesfireside178 just wondering, do we do it just for the first and last stitches of each row or do we do it all the way through the row?

How do you do that if you are left handed.
