Those are really nice connectors. There are XT30, XT60, and XT90 versions. They are used widely in RC battery connections. The number corresponds to the current capability of each connector.
I just watched your older video and was hoping for mountable ones. Could not find them. Then on your channel I found this video. Thank you for making these videos. You truly are the best!
The only channel sponsor adverts I don't skip though haha, because the product actually relates to the channel and usually for the same application as the video im watching 👍
That was so cool and really convinced me to try to add a stereo system to my project car after i gut it. These type of connections would work for a lot of things really cool stuff here in this video. Thanks.
Thanks Mark I used the regular ones in my recent build and will be using them going forward. Very nice knowing I can just dc my stuff for swapouts or whatever. Word of caution though to everyone, feed your tweeter wires through their cups before soldering on these connectors. duh. Lesson learned for me heh.
oh man, kinda funny that i see this video now. i used some xt90s to have a quick disconnect setup for my subwoofer. works a treat, surprised to find i'm not the only one who thought of it.
Kicking it with another highly informative video Mark. All this is important to a solid build. This also aids at troubleshooting time. Keep it up! Stay safe mates!😊👍🏻😷
I’ve used Molex connectors but these seam nice. The Molex I use a Molex ratcheting crimper to connect the wires with Molex male and female pins. Bullet style connectors are only used in a temporary pinch if you don’t have anything else.
went from dean conectors to these in my rc car, my old connectors melted the plastics, these have never done that, running 150a+ setup. And they are soo easy to take apart. Only "downside" is that you need a quite hefty welding iron to get the job done,, i use a 90w one
@@patrickkish6662 They used to say, yeah we just did an install. When we picked up the materials this morning they gave us an extra! So we will sell this nice fancy system real cheap to you! Lmao
Great videos! I've learned so much from your tutorials. looking to upgrade the audio system in my 2016 F150 Lariat and i'm definitely on the right track thanks to you!
Kinda cool.how everything can connect somewhere... in road lights the female connection is always line (power) so if it get hits by a car or anything like that and the pole falls it will disconnect and you'd have less of a chance of being electrocuted By the way. Been watching you for YEARS I didn't go to the car audio direction but I still catch up with ya every once in awhile and binge watch
We use these xt60 connectors for low power rc cars. I used to.use 50amp anderson connectors on my sub box because the 8awg was a pain every time i took the subs out
Amass is the original manufacture of these. I have them in black. They also show + and - sides on all connectors. Very sturdy. I think the embedded nut is a M3-0.5 x 12mm. This is if you use 1/4" material to mount. I will update if I find something else.
Whatever plastics supplier I can find. Raw materials like this and wood are basically just find who has what you need at a good quality and a fair price.
You can do the same for the power but with Anderson 60 or 90 amp. They are incredibly beefy, very tight connection that have a positive click "hold" Used a lot for solar power cables and both ends are the same but only one side is pluss side and you can never plug it the wrong way either
The Anderson 50 or 60 i have fits 7mm2 cables good. And you can also (with some work pull out the pin from the connector after installing it but it is really made to be crimped/soldered to the cable and plugged in the connector and not removing it again. I love it and am sure it will handle at least 300A
I custom made a rear parcel shelf for my hatchback with 6x9 s in them but when I needed to fold the seats down and remove the parcel shelf it got vey messy finished up using bullet plugs worked but these would have been much better.
Have you seen the Anderson Power Pole connectors, by Powerwerx? They are heavy duty, mountable, and customize-able. Used a lot in Amateur Radio and custom electronic projects.
Why would you use xt60 instead of xt90? Not only are they more durable and have a better hold, they have almost twice the current handling capability. I get that smaller speakers don't draw that much, but for barely any price difference, you get better durability.
Are you in California? I’m a detailer in So Cal and will deliver all speakers & amps while dropping my car off. I’ll do a 2 step paint correction & 3 year ceramic coating and interior revival on your car and pay you thousands & thousands of dollars to install on my civic.

Very nice connectors I will give them a try for sure
Those are really nice connectors. There are XT30, XT60, and XT90 versions. They are used widely in RC battery connections. The number corresponds to the current capability of each connector.
What's really funny, there are 160A continuous and over 500A burst going through a 90A connector! Sounds like it would burn down, but they don't!

I use these all the time for my rc batteries. Very pleased to know about the panel mount pieces. Great incorporation into car audio.
Love these videos that introduce me to a new little product that’ll make an install that much better. Great work as always Mark!
I really enjoy your videos.
Glad you like them! Thanks for watching!

This is so funny i recived mine about a week before you uploaded this video

These are a good 1 time install...multi use speaker wire connectors
Anybody remember when random dudes in vans used to show up out of nowhere trying to sell you speakers in a parking lot?
Yep scammers! Hahaha!
@@BurningDownUrHouse Dude, they said it was a Sweeeet deal

I really like the regular ones. These are pretty sweet. Gonna have to order some. Great video as always
One of those things that are just nice to have in the tool box when you need them
Those are pretty cool...easy in and out
Dayyuuuumn bro!!! I just got to say man you are extremely hella talented for real and smart.. wish I knew what you knew
Hey Mark thanks for this video i was looking for connectors like this removable subs from my van.

Thanks Mark - awesome as always!!👌🏻🔥
Nice video. I never really liked the Autozone M/F connectors and these look really nice just got some because of your video :)
I'm never first! I've been wanting to try these quick disconnects.
Next time!

That's awesome dude! I improve something like this un My car, thanks for share it, still love your channel ;) greetings.
I love my Panavice and accessories for solder work. Way better than those helping hands.
Been using those plugs on rc batteries for years also you can try Dean plugs there a little tighter fit
I see you use that little metal pry bar a lot, where can I get one? and whats it called? Great videos by the way!!!
Hey Mark, can you tell us where do you purchase your acrylic and ABS sheets? Thanks!
Yeah.
Whatever plastics supplier I can find. Raw materials like this and wood are basically just find who has what you need at a good quality and a fair price.
Is it a good idea to fill the bowl all the way up or add more if we need it? 🤔
Have a connector like that that you would recommend for subwoofers?
great video, always thought there had to be a mounting option but count find one either. Is there a reason you dont use molex connections?
Can I use this for a subwoofer?

SAE connectors or XT60 for motorcycle quick disconnects?
Can these be used for subwoofers?
Are the connectors magnetic?
Damn I could have used that a few months ago!
I custom made a rear parcel shelf for my hatchback with 6x9 s in them but when I needed to fold the seats down and remove the parcel shelf it got vey messy finished up using bullet plugs worked but these would have been much better.
Can Use This For Subwoofer Power ?
this is connectors is cuprum ?
if i may ask,. what 3d printer do you recommend. ive been on the hunt for one. but also knowing what CAF perfers
Mark I have 2 pioneer shallow mount subs 1500w a piece what size amp do you recommend I put on them
Thats the same connector my E bike battery has can i plug my battery into my speakers ?
A lil overkill (the XT60's were designed for 60A and the XT90's 90A obviously), but if it works it works!

Xt90s are huge and provide no benefit when the extra current is not needed.
those connectors also come angled ,
how much is th enewconcept wiring i want som for my buggatti
Make a vid of how to connect a eq plz
I could never get my solder to stick to these connectors for some reason
Can these be used for subs?
As long as it doesn't exceed the current handling rating.
I would expect this to disconnect after some time. It would be nice to have a bracket over the plugs to prevent this.

Lol I have 4 ga speaker wire. Which is power cable.
Don’t you mix up female and male?
I was thinking the same but I guess it depends on if you are going by the yellow plastic parts or the pins
Go Deutsch and don’t look back. DTM series.
I don't want to cut the wire.
So I cut the wire and use this.
Thanks Mark I used the regular ones in my recent build and will be using them going forward. Very nice knowing I can just dc my stuff for swapouts or whatever.
