His Cottage Gallery in Carmel is a gallery I started just a little while before that. I agree, though his work is not of my taste generally, he was a great artist and brought joy to Millions.
Even though your gone, I find I am still learning so much from your videos...I hope you did lots of videos,i watch some every day You were a great artist and I miss you.
Watching a master do it... while it still seems intimidating is still really helpful for a newbie like myself. So grateful he decided to share his techniques with the world.
I just watch this today for the first time and it is September 16th 2019. I learned more from just watching this video in the last year from any other video I have seen on RUclips. Thanks you Mr. Kinkade. You truly are the best 🙏
I walked down the streets of Placerville, CA, only to be in his presence. I stopped and looked inside the Kinkade art studio. It was late and on a Sunday evening...not too many people around.
As an artist its easy to understand we are all different from others, especially in the case of Thomas Kinkade, he was one of a kind. He's missed by many. RIP...
I cannot belive how talented he is, I want to give a BIG thank you for all those beautiful disney paintings I cannot afford one but im so blessed too look at them they make me so happy!
i love those paintings since i was a kid before i knew the painter.. i played nickelodeon puzzle game and all your painting is there and i love every single piece of it.. and now i try to paint cottages and nature as i was inspired and moved by your painting..
A lot of people, debunked his paiting and criticized him, etc.. But a lot of people loving his painting.. I watched Mr.Thomas back in 2008, And until now, I always adored him and admired him, I love you Thomas Kinkade, We All Love You.
Mr. Kinkade, your message of bringing hope to someone in difficulties, has touched my troubled heart, in a time of trial. Thank you. God Bless. I pray that God's will for your life and salvation has been fulfilled through His Mercies in Jesus Christ.
Oh yeah, "god" has certainly blessed him as a devout Christian with alcoholism, divorce with his beloved wife and early death. A very sadistic God of yours I'd say...
@@vykintasmorkvenas6839 God does Bless us. You got born. Isn't that a blessing? Read Jeremiah 29:11. God Blesses us ever day in ways we are not aware of often and often, and still we are misled by the enemy, as Mr. Kinkade was, because we have a fallen nature.

@@agwbcfjc2 I'm not angry, nor frustrated and very happy in my life. Without any gods and devils. What makes me sad is the unimaginably terrible fact that some people are able somehow to believe in god who let's 9 million children under age of 5 die each year...
I realize this video and the comments are years past, but does anyone know his process for re-sketching - or re-drawing - with charcoal and not get the mess from mixing oil paint with charcoal? Does he somehow 'fix' the charcoal? If so, how? I saw him use this technique in one of the other videos.
Siempre ,me han enamorado su obras ,trasmiten ,paz, armonía, respeto por la naturaleza y belleza que solo un gran Artista como Thomas Kinkade transmite.mi favorito la Storm Light,.
He doesnt explain much. Even in this everytime it cuts away, it comes back differently. Not just further in the painting, but completely different. I feel like he wanted to show a painting, but not make it a tutorial so his processes were still pretty secretive. Theres alot thats not explained. He is one of my favorite artists, but idk. I dont think this felt genuine. It felt like its like a shtick that he is sticking with because its what people liked. The overly sentimental, religious, and deep person. It just seemed overdone in this video. In my opinion.
is it me, or is it weird that we don't really see him painting hardly at all in this video? its just time lapsed. and when he does put brush to canvas, its not really showing any techniques. very weird. he puts two dots of paint on the canvas then talks for 5 min. then he cuts the camera off. when he cuts it back on the painting is almost done. i love his stuff but his videos are odd.
Simple answer to this - his videos weren't tutorials, they're marketing tools. He didn't want to give away how they were painted, he just wanted to promote the paintings to potential buyers.
I like your work but my name is Kincaid and you're probably the reason everyone spells it differently. Still my sister is a good artist as well so its all cool.
He's definitely a master.but if you notice he's looking off to the left like he's painting from a picture..no one can psiby images right out of there head..this guy isn't showing him actually painting it..bob ross paints the hole picture..right before you..
This guy was amazing to say tge least..but he's not showing you how to actually paint it..its all done off screen..and I think he's painting from a picture no one can pull images out of there head like that..miss tge guy he was fantastic
I am a hugeeee fan of thomas' work, but listening to him talk, he almost sounds like he is very rehearsed or full of crap. Like he wanted to sound more holier than thou than he actually was. I mean wasnt he an alcoholic? Lol However, his work is still incredible.
so what if he was an alcoholic? makes him no better or no worse than you or me. You might be the holier than thou one if you look down on someone because they have a flaw!. We all do.
At last, the true story: Evangelical paint-by-numbers artist Thomas Kinkade once was revered among Christians as the 'Painter of Light,' known for his sentimental scenes of country gardens and pastoral landscapes that led to a commercial empire worth $100 million a year. His life was much less pious, and far-less glamorous. Estranged from his wife, he was found dead in his bed with his much younger mistress. Published reports about the years leading up to the troubled artist's death paint a much different picture than the pseudo heavenly landscapes that earned Kinkade millions - it includes drugs, alcohol, 'territorial urination', misogyny and sexual harassment. He lived in "one of the finest examples of a California Craftsman architectural cottage" in his street. Praise be.
What a sweet, calming voice he had. No wonder he painted such peaceful beautiful paintings. Love listening to him.
Why do people feel the need to make rude comments! He was a great Artist & brought great Joy to millions of people through his paintings
And makes millions of dollars, too!!!
The way I always put it is other artists are jealous because he found a way to eat and they’re still starving. He was a tortured soul but a great man.

Absolutely no question he was an incredible talented artist.
Not to say there aren’t a million more like him but he painted beautiful pictures.
Thanks, Thomas! You brought light and happiness to thousands.

I love how every single window is lit. Almost feels like there is a lot of energy coming out from each house he paints.
I've always loved the way Thomas K. painted clouds. I wish he would have gave a tutorial. R.I.P..

Great analogy of the painting process and the journey of life. Inspired thank you

I love his passion and love that he is willing to teach us how to improve our own paintings and enjoy the passion we have in our own hearts.

He is so right about God touching an artest❤️
Wow, very interesting to see how truly detailed he was. And painting on top of charcoal? Is he using acrylic?
Probably, with the help of an airbrush,
Liquin, that he mentions early in the process is an oil (well, alkyd) medium
This guy is a great teacher an painter! I don't care if he peed on winnie the pooh!😁😁😁😁😂😂😂🐒🐒🐒🐒🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🐹🐹🐹🐹🐼🐼🐼🐼

Also he didn't crank out paintings in 30 minutes. It would have been a 2 hour video.
Do you seal the charcoal before continuing to paint?
He did not.
i never know if he is using oil or acrylic..i think he uses acrylic first, it dries and then uses oil on top? but nor sure
Yes, in later years he did exactly what you said. Much of his earlier work was pure oils.
Interesting
I sail into unknown - yup
I love kincades work. Parshall to Bill Alexander tho.
Brian Perry I'm much more of a Peter Adams (California Art Club) guy myself.
Brian Perry In Solvang I got a chance to see his Disney works up close in a gallery and its amazing colors.

Wish I had the money to afford the Art supplies he used, namely highly pigmented oils.... so expensive.
Pray to God,,, or jus mix a little white in to brighten it
filmed and painted in 1997

So what
What does that have to do with his paintings? We all have faults and sin in our lives , wouldn’t you agree Richard Webb?
