Just got a prodigy. I was nervous at first but the versatility of the sheef has been amazing. I can mod my sheef from my waist, to the kit, to my backpack
@IGO-Hooah For a while they were hard to find after the Strong-arm came out. Now they have them at Wal-Mart and Amazon. I have both. I tossed the Strong-arm sheath in the garbage and the Prodigy sheath works for both. The Prodigy is definitely more comfortable in my hand. I did tear the rubber on both handles but it took 5yrs and I use them for HARD use out on my uncles Farm in bumblephuck. I've had alot of blades out on that farm over the past 30yrs and this 420hc steel is perfect. I can use it to pry up sewer grates like it's a crowbar and my Bucks in 420hc snap breaking pallets down. And people bet their lives on them bucks. They're better for skinning a deer if your really into it. That's not my thing. But I'm damn sure you could stab that Prodigy through 2 leather jackets right through flesh and bone. It takes alot less than one would would think with all these millions of options out there for self defense. If that's your primary reason of use, any Chinese blade that's sharp will do it. Kitchen knives kill more people than guns do.
I've had a prodigy for about 8 years. I've abused the living hell out of it and aside from the handle changing colors from years of staining, it's no worse than the day I bought it. I wanted to buy another to have as a backup but they're a little more difficult to find now so I got a strong-arm today. I haven't used it yet but based off ergonomics alone, I prefer the prodigy so far
I have both for a long time now. My blade was sharpened back further on my Prodigy from the factory then this one in your video looks slightly defective. I beat on them for a few months but never ended up loving either. The Strong-arm sheath is junk to me.I cut the nylon off the Prodigy sheath and use it for both with paracord for a belt loop. I use them on my uncles Farm about once a month for $hit work. I've hit them with hammers and pried out old 2×4s so they're great for that. The handles are both chunks of rubber flapping in the breeze. The tang on the Prodigy actually is more full it looks like the Strong-arm they cheated more. One day I'll cut them off completely. I would never bring either of these into combat they're just utility blades i.m.o Thank you for the vs video. I like your opinion.
@@isaacs_knives_and_knowledge agreed they are likely not legit...I actually ordered a replica Strongarm from China to compare to my authentic Prodigy and LMFii... literally ordered it so it can stay in my work truck and not get stolen like one of my two LMF's 😢 My understanding about the double snap closure is it is required to qualify as a 'jump' knife as you discussed.
As much as I like the looks of The Strongarm, The Demko Armiger is $10 cheaper. I'll take .14" thick 80cr over .19" of 420, but that's just a personal opinion.
I hope you and yours are well and having a great day!
You too!
the prodigy was the first knife my son bought me
The prodigy is one sick blade its nearly indestructible it is one of my best blades for the field lol out in the flat range
Yes sir real solid

Thanks for sharing your experience
Aaannnddd one more for the algorithm.
Haha thanks!
Walmart has them for 25 $ rn online
I wouldn't trust that. Likely a 3rd party seller knockoff
@@isaacs_knives_and_knowledge never mind it’s a replica

Prodigy got took off the retail market so why?
Who knows
Got one today at a local Walmart $30
Great deal
Nice comparison video. I’m favoring the Strongarm.
Right on

Tough price to beat on that arminger
@@isaacs_knives_and_knowledge And the serrated tanto is handy AF to have as a complimentary blade for cordage and/or scraping with the top edge. 🙂
I don’t like the bulkyness of the prodigy sheath. It’s way too big. I like the lower profile of the strongarm.
Very valid opinion
