If you don't experiment there is the risk of 'being type-cast' so to speak, or setting your audience's expectations to be very specific and narrow, which runs the risk of you having too little creative space to explore before you run out of different things to do. I would say don't be afraid to try new / different things and see how they are received. People will give you feedback in the comments, and analytics will give you performance data to compare with. But that's just my viewpoint - you're the one who has the time and energy invested in the channel, while I don't have any real 'skin in the game' so to speak.
