This reminds me of my ex girlfriend dog(female). She would cling to me like anything. Sometimes I felt she did this to everyone. But later on she completely rejected her new boyfriend, I realised that I was special to her. I still see her sometimes and send her gifts on her birthdays. Last time I met her she almost cried when I left. To be honest it felt more like I was in a relationship with her than my ex.😂😂😂

Well most of US hints individuality rather than family. Dogs are like wolfs I guess their DNA have been mutating while preserving their packs traits most of the time.
Dogs definitely have favourites! My sister moved back home after living out for a while and had a cattle dog which she had for 7 years, i took him for walks and gave him more attention. He would cry at her door wanting to sleep in my room instead of hers, she moved out and he wouldn't go with her. I now have a dog that i wasn't planning on having 😂

My boyfriend and I have been together for almost 9 years and he got his dog after we were already together. That dog sees my truck and we would run straight up to it 😂 I remember his daddy picked him up from the groomers and he was so upset that when he saw me, he jumped off of his lap, through the window and in my arms 😂❤ love that dog

We have the same thing with our bunnies. The female in particular, loves to cuddle up with me in preference to the kids and my wife (to their ongoing horror) and always runs up to the front of her space when I walk by. Of course I find this completely understandable... hehe, but our breeder did say that animals often gravitate to the biggest male in the household - the deeper voice, height etc., being points of reference. Whatever the reason, I'm certainly appreciating all the affection and can't help but feel a bit smug at times. Is that wrong? 🙂 Cheers - Dave

Somebody who take them out and invent new games and mischief, get involved in playing, getting the hands dirty. That's the best way to build bond with a dog. Females are generally (focus on generally) more interested in the cute aspect of owning a dog, such as doing videos together, cuddling, verbal communication and spending home time with them. Which is fine but is something dogs don't understand or need as much.
@@unokepasaba Also, dogs need leadership to feel safe. They don't understand the human world but they want to feel like they belong in it. A leader does that for them. Men naturally take on leadership roles and dogs understand hierarchy like it's their native language.

My dog loves my grandpa more than me and he’s only around sometimes but my 14 year old chihuahua completely ignores me and suddenly wants to be playful and charming whenever my grandpa visits, but always acts lethargic and lazy around me pops his head up like “oh it’s just you” and lays back down whenever I enter the room. But when grandpa enters the room it’s a whole different story wagging his tail following him around everywhere. My dog only seems to really love me whenever he wants to be petted or when I have food.

I remember with my ex we were sitting on the glade at my university and some girl had two cats. She was walking around with one of them and noticed us looking. So we started to talk about them. She brought each cat to us in turn one and after another and both of them beelined directly for me and sat in my lap or right next to me. My ex didn't show it but I knew she was annoyed, she even asked me why they didn't come to her after. I like to think that the cats knew who's vibes were off instantly.
The bonds we have with these precious creatures is just beyond me. They sometimes give us something no human can, very amazing 🤍

When I first was invited to my Wife's apartment, she had a minpin named Heidi. So, we (my wife and I) were starting to kiss, and Heidi jumped up on her lap and growled and barked at me. So, I calmly put my hand out (back side first) and let her sniff me. Then I began petting and scratching those places on her that dogs love. My wife and I resumed kissing, while I was petting Heidi. Eventually Heidi and I were friends, and later as Heidi, like many pinpins, liked to do, she ran out the door and avoided being caught. I was used to catching cats that did the exact same thing though and would catch her quickly. She eventually figured out that I would so she stopped running and came to me when I called her. She did not do that for my wife or my wife's mother (the owner). I miss Heidi, and am still married to my wife for 48 years.

I had friends with a big dog that absolutely loved me. One day I arrived at their house and one of them had taken the dog out for a walk. 10 minutes later she arrived back at the house out of breath as the dog had dragged her back on the leash. On the return part of the walk they joined the route I had taken by foot and the dog had picked up my scent. This same dog loved walks, but would never walk with me. I am disabled and have two sticks. Any time I offered to take her for a walk she would sit down in front of me to obstruct me walking and if i walked around her she would run around and sit down in front of me again - she didn't want me walking, incredibly smart and understanding.
That's how much I love Dogs!
