I had several panic attacks and they’re easy do deal with (unless you’re in a moment) but is kinda painful, after it you just inhale and exhale not hard but deep, well I already had depression 2 months before my dad died out of nowhere, and right now I’m just really anxious about what’s the next suffering, my school grades, it’s not a fun thing to have, especially since my dad was a financial expert, so I’ve been forced to study harder to replace him, I also have 4 other siblings and sometimes they just compare me, they say that I don’t have depression or anxiety, “it’s just your thoughts” “you don’t, stop faking it”, nobody should fake this to have pity from others, depressed people never actually talk about their depression, unless they feel like it.

Being upset is something that will eventually stop, Depression is a disorder where you feel worthless due to lack of serotonin in the brain, It's not always "I am sad that means I'm depressed😢😭" Depression isn't a feeling, It's a disorder.

She also wore crutches because a soccer ball hit her shin too hard and “sprained her ankle” she would say “I know it sounds weird but it happened” she also wanted my other friend to herself and would yell her name and yell at her to come here. A lot of my friends have gone through some sort of trauma, but I haven’t. I mean, I’ve had (and still have) some pretty crappy experiences, but not normally situations as serious as theirs. And since people tend to be like THAT, I feel nervous about talking about my anxiety since, again, the causes of it may make me seem like a “faker” or whatever. the world still has a lot to offer, stay strong and push on, there'll be a lot of oppurtinities/chances that may come and go, though you may become skeptical, you can think through it and perhaps it may become a life changing event that could turn the whole world upside down, so stay strong and remember that there'll always be people that care.
and it's okay to express all the sadness, afterall we're humans, we have the ability to express emotions, be smart and wise, we can take care of our own selves, we can be deluded by imaginations that're most likely won't come true but give us that little joy and light that we need in the midst of hardships and sadness. We may never understand why we would feel something so deep and most people would not care, but be proud and happy that you care and are aware of it, in which others did not and will not and it will be up to you to make actions that would be beneficial. You cannot control what happens around you, but you can control how you act, feel, view, think, express to what are around you.
      I believe and trust you

@Lexie Lu I feel this... I'm not sure if I'm fine or not, because it doesn't mess with physical, but more mentally (as in, I have lack of self-esteem and sometimes life seems really pointless). So my parents say on an overall level I'm fine, but I just need to change my viewpoints.
I haven't gone to see anyone, but for awhile I thought I had social anxiety and depression because I've felt things people with it do, but not to such a huge degree. I just feel bad because I'm worried I was just faking it and anything I've commented to other's on youtube about this stuff is all false.
But maybe I am faking it and everything is fine. In which should not be compared to your situation.

Some people don’t understand the difference between the two; there are ways to express how you feel without pretending you have something which you might not. The only things I don’t need diagnosis for is derealisation and VSS (visual snow syndrome) because the symptoms are pretty obvious and VSS can almost never get diagnosed anyway because no one has heard of it.
But remember, we don’t need a diagnosis to prove we struggle with a mental state. That’s where we need to realise to be respectful to everyone, because we don’t know what battles they’re fighting.

One thing I hate is that everyone does this, so when I try to talk to people about it I have to worry “Do they think I’m faking? Am I making it seem like I’m faking?” My friends and I tend to talk about everything in more of a joking way so when I’ll text them about my anxiety or something but pass it off as a joke (it’s not a joke. Don’t ever treat it as one. My friends and I just don’t like to be serious, so we tend to talk in more light-hearted ways instead of being serious) I worry so much that they’re gonna think I’m faking. And then of course, that ties back in to social anxiety. I wish people would just learn that hey, faking mental illnesses isn’t funny! It isn’t cute! It’s harming those who do actually have them!

I think a good way to tell the difference between a real panic attack and a fake one during a test is to see how long they take to stop answering questions before blankly staring at the paper, how unresponsive they are, how much eye contact they make, and when tears start coming out. Also, it's usually when or a bit after they start crying that heavier breathing comes into play. Real attacks don't always draw that much attention because concerning the people around them may make them panic even more. Another thing to note is that when they've been removed from the classroom, they'll feel more comfortable crying/sobbing more freely because there's not a ton of people around to judge them. (Btw I'm not a professional. I'm just speaking from experiences I've seen and had.)

Personally, I’m fine with people self-diagnosing however, there’s a few things you need to keep in mind if you self diagnose. Firstly, you shouldn’t self diagnose yourself with something if you’ve only got a few symptoms, you don’t have to have every single symptom but a majority is needed. Secondly, please take your diagnosis with a grain of salt. Don’t belittle those who have been diagnosed by a professional just because they don’t have the exact same symptoms as you. Don’t use your diagnosis as an excuse e.g. “I’m sorry I punched you for no reason, I have intermittent explosive disorder and bipolar disorder so you HAVE to forgive me”. If you only think you have one diagnosis, it’s probably not correct as diagnosis’s tend to come in pairs/groups e.g. people with depression tend to also have an anxiety disorder. That’s not to say that you can’t just have depression and you shouldn’t diagnose yourself with 20 disorders but keep that in mind. Check your sources/use multiple sources to diagnose yourself because there’s a lot of fake information about mental health and a lot of symptoms are left out e.g. one symptom of bipolar mania is hyper sexuality but this isn’t mentioned as much as it probably should be. Mental health is a spectrum. You may end up misdiagnosing yourself, even professionals misdiagnose people.
I’m sorry to go on a rant, I’m no professional (I have done a lot of research but I don’t have any actual qualifications) on this topic but I just have a lot I need to say about this. There’s more I could probably say but I can’t think of anything else to add. If I do think of anything, I’ll add it in an edit. Feel free to add any of your opinions or of facts in the comments.
Btw, I love this video and your channel, you’re amazing and talented, keep up the good work!

The sad part is there are people out there with real mental health issues that self diagnose themselves (after looking on several, very reputable websites) because they know what will happen if they tell anybody. Eventually they crack and tell somebody, and oh look, their own diagnosis is the same as the doctor's! The second sad part is when they see others who self diagnose for attention, the people with the real mental illness(s) think that they need help just like them.

She said her parents were horrible to her and were *abusing* her, she also said she never smiles at like at all so I watched (more like stalked) her the entire day and she was completely fine, she was smiling laughing and talking about her "depression" to everyone and how it was super bad
I talked to her mom and told her about the message she sent me of how she was appearantly cutting herself (she wasn't she showed me a pic of her wrist lines) and her mom was really nice! She told me that she didn't know why her daughter would even send those messages as she'd been so nice to her.

I think that its fairly okay to self diagnose as long as
    1. you have all or almost all the symptoms
    2. you arent going outside and telling everyone you now have that thing, when you haven't been diagnosed by a doctor.
    3. you arent bragging or using it as a excuse
some people cant afford to go to the doctor, or their families wont let them. (for example I want to go to a doctor and see if I could get diagnosed with depression so I wont feel like I'm lying but my parents probably wont let me considering my mom doesn't want me taking anti-depressants.) But these people that are faking it are making it harder for me to speak about my experiences without someone I know saying that I'm faking or "depressed people dont speak out about it, they keep it to themselves" while yes they keep it to themselves, it is important to talk about the symptoms and ask, because if nobody asks, the people that could potentially have depression will just suffer in silence. Depression isnt "fun" or "a crazy trend" its real. Whether i have it or not, other people definitely do and it should be treated seriously.
