Am I a bad person for laughing when I saw Ariel innocently staring while she was being boiled?
P.S. Nice video
If you like kittens, no. If not, yes, deffo yes.
Nope. xD
I did the same lol
I was picturing a geek version of Fatal Attraction where they come home and find a Funko Pop boiling on the stove, instead of a bunny.
12:54 "We stopped for Chinese in the middle"...Me xD
"It wont need a lot of sanding but it will need quite a bit" haha
Hi, love the video! Just a suggestion that if you are planning on doing more of your awesome customs that you might want to try using 100% acetone instead of regular nail polish remover (I got mine at Sally's for under $3). I repaint barbies to look like book character as a hobbie and the 100% acetone takes off the face paint so much easier and quicker! Hope it helps and once again loved the video and your Vanessa!
What kind of paint do you use for the barbies?
You can get a gallon at Home Depot for like $6
I highly recommend boiling the entire pop before taking the head off. It's a lot easier to remove and will reduce the chance of damaging the pop.
i would recommend using straight up acetone to take the paint off
I think it looks more like Ariel and Eric's daughter because of the black hair. But it came out very nice! You made me want to try it.
DIY pops are fine in the the oven. But probably no more than 20 to 25 mins. I put mine in the oven for 15 minutes and it was done. It probably just depends on the clay. If it’s still wet leave it to fully cool down and put them back in ❤️
This was very nice and makes me less nervous about doing my first custom pop. :D
Yea, it's not nearly as difficult as some artists make it seem. Obviously some of the better customs out there were more difficult than this but you still get the idea.
After it's boiled, can you change the position of the arms or legs, or will that cause damage to the figure?
The final product looks sick! Also, if you ever get a chance apoxie is really good for sculpting funko pops, it sets and dries rock solid within 2 hours, which can be a pain if you're not the fastest at sculpting stuff but it's really really good. Also, for removing the paint straight acetone is usually the easiest, although if you use it- try to use gloves or something as it's really not good for you, as you'd expect haha.
We considered apoxie but for customizing on a budget we went with the air dry clay. Takes a bit longer to dry but the final product is still great. Acetone is also a great tool, but again with a budget in mind, nail polish remover did the job too. Thanks for watching.
This is awesome! With the black hair she also looks kind of like Ariel's daughter, Melody :)
I think it'd be easier to cut off the clothed arms with a craft knife & then super-glue on the arms of a bare-armed Funko pop figure. Just a suggestion :)
"it won't need a whole lot, but it will need quite a bit"
This funky pop is cool. I really want to get all the Harry Potter pops and especially hermione granger
anyone else get anxious when he started wiggling the open nail polish remover bottle sround
throw it in simple green to get rid of the paint, way way quicker method and less scrubbing to get the paint off.
I have the same Ariel pop and mine also has a kinda messed up box
AND OMG HOBBY LOBBY IS AMAZINGG!!!
This was very cool and helpful video! : DD Now I have some idea how am I gonna start with my custom Funko Pop ^^
USE POLYMER CLAY YOU BAKE! Grab your paints from Hobby Lobby n brushes. But everything else from the 1$ Store: tape, exacto knife, sandpaper, clay mold tools.
"It won't need a whole lot of sanding, but it will need quite a bit". Hahaha
you don't use white and black to lighten or darken. at least, you shouldn't.
Nicely done! She looks amazing.
Such a massive difference, I love it!
Lol omg when I saw Ariel’s head boiling I thought if there was a movie of her head boiling
She looks great! Nice job man
love this... and i love the Once Upon A Time pops in the background I'd love to make some of the other characters from the show
Nice funko pop.
Wouldn't model figure paint do a way better job? I am painting model kits and usual acrylics are just too rough and never really smooth
Thinking of doing a custom Mega Man with an actual amiibo nfc chip in the head to act as a working amiibo!
My plan - repose him so the arm cannon points forward. Paint his shirt, part of his helmet, his codpiece and his pants yellow. Pry open the head, rubber cement the amiibo chip into the back of his head. Make a blaster/gun shaped prop. Make a base, and gun down the gun based thing.
I might make two - one is a more simple custom with less sculpting, and the other with more detail.
The second one - lop off his arm cannon arm, sculpt a new one plus a hand, and make a gun prop. Do the same repaint/colouring on him. Pry open his head, glue the amiibo chip into place.
Great job quality video
Very helping, still I dunno how to work with someone who hasn't the same type of model as my characters =_=
my favorite one is the neighbor from hello neighbor
this is awesome I'm contemplating making customized ones as a gift to my fiancée for our wedding. he has the stay-puft marshmallow man and I think he thinks I am going to get him the burnt marshmallow man but I want to surprise him
this is so cool! thanks for this video, very helpful :)
She looks like Mistress 9 from Sailor Moon ❤
that PoP looks like a pop you could buy in a store. DAHM
Love this! Very helpful!
Did you know black is actually a mix of the three base colors anyway? So you can actually get the light or dark you want with just those colors.... it's just hard as shit lol
I got super scared when I saw the X-Acto knife and was freaked out until I saw the end product I was like "Okay, thank God it didn't get damaged." Lol
This is so helpful. I plan on making an Eilonwy pop custom
I love it!
You shod realy have 1 mill subscribers come on guys!

wow good job i could never do this
I have a hobby lobby

Niceeeee!
Do you have a video showing when you did the fine detail work? That part with the tape and all of that is where I'd mess up.

Hello, is it possible to remove the eyebrows without damage the natural colour of the face? Thanks
Did you use acrylic paint?
How long does it take for that clay to dry?
Funko pop MUREDER wwwhhhyyy she was so young #prayforariel 😭😭😭😭😢😢😢😥😥😥🤧🤧🤧🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
What brand of air dry clay did you get? I can't find any anywhere.
It was just a generic brand. If you go to a hobby store and ask for air dry clay they should know what you're talking about.
I get Apoxie Sculpt
Did you spray anything on it after it was done like a sealant or matte spray? My Funko is quite tacky and sticky from the acrylic paint after its dried. Did you have this problem?
misszully03 Everyone should use Mr. Super Clear (MSC) for a sealant, because that's what works best. So yes, you should. He used like Krylon brand which is fine but it won't permanently keep the paint on and it'll start to get sticky and bubbly all over, so MSC is the best way to go. You gotta order it off Amazon though because it's a Japanese product (specifically made to seal paint jobs on small clay miniatures and doll repaints) idk where you can buy it in a normal craft store in the US or UK.
How does the clay feel when it dries?
creating a Anahi funko for a fanmail box used a Hermione funko daisuki
What about the plastic mold inserts?
Ursula's seashell is bigger than how you made it
Who is Vanessa?

Thanks for watching. As far as we know there is no public Vanessa figure for sale. So far just customs. There are however many characters that share characteristics of Vanessa which makes her a relatively easy custom to do.
um and definitely ...
i thought it was peggy skulur
supersketchgirl do you mean schuyler??
i have a custom fnaf pop it is toy freddy
I want to see it! :3
:| can you make the intro shorter plz? I got a bit bored by all the bla bla bla. Video starts at 4:25

Zulfburht they usually don't have the kind you want
too much effort tbh
It's a hobby :) the idea is to occupy your spare time. But If you don't enjoy it, it'll feel like a lot of work
I would hate to see that girlfriend if she is dating someone with a face and voice like you
