It’s very difficult to come to terms with spending the time working towards a dream to then find out you no longer want that dream or it wasn’t what you thought it would be. This convo is great! It’s NEVER too late to switch it up & chase another dream. Society makes us put limits on dreams because of AGE

Whether he looks at you or not...no problem...have done the same thing with others myself . Because of searching for words that get through to hard added who refuse to listen. Helped my keep my focus and not be distracted by facial expressions . Thank you agson! Elaine in N.C.

Lewis, you bring to us so many individuals that, for me, provide the most amazing ah-ha moments! What Dr Phil shares, especially when it comes to relationships, I can reflect my past why life went so wrong over and over again, to the point I never want to be in a relationship again because of my experiences. I will need to reflect on this, revisiting my current belief on not wanting to be in a relationship, especially in my last chapter in life.

Wow - do an autopsy on previous relationships. "What did I do to contribute to the demise of that relationship?" Own that role and heal it. Very interesting. Name calling and character assassination predict the downfall of a relationship. #1 desire acceptance, number one fear rejection. ......... When I look at the example of how to do character assassination set by our previous President demonstrated by supposedly the top role model in the US, I cringe. "Everyone is in business for themselves" How am I doing? A 'gut check moment' of when you don't do it anymore. Don't let things be a win lose situation, find a joint solution. Don't ask someone to be half of who they are to be part of a couple. Don't ask someone to be who they are not. Spend quality time together, intimacy sharing things together that you don't with others, 100% candid with each other, feeling safe doing so.Nothing to do with romance or sexuality. Having each others back no matter what in public. Acknowledge what creates pain and choose to forgive them and your self for what you've done, and find less destructive ways to express yourselves. Don't go a day without making eye contact. You get one bite at this apple, it's no dress rehearsal so don't waste time. Grab on and make the most of it. When you feel emptiness the best way to fill it is to give away what you need the most. If it's loneliness find someone that needs what you do and give to that person .... it will fill you up and heal you. Be your own best friend. We don't realize how harshly we judge ourselves. You did what you knew how to do. When you know better you will do better.

Too many things can be said that you can not take back when you try and talk to each other when your angry. My parents were so mad at each other most of the time. There was a lot of drinking and yelling and I refuse to raise my boys around that. Thank you for reminding me I am doing the best for myself and my relationship. I have learned a few things about myself that I have not thought about.
