Went hiking in Nepal with some Australians. I had no idea about this song, but it came on in a bar and they were suddenly possessed... like they'd been summoned to the dance floor. It was one of the most memorable bits of the trip 😂
Love this 😍
This has been an Australian thing since the 1970's. Very cultural. In all the dance clubs back then and onwards. Weddings and school dance feature it too to this day. Didn't know the rest of the world were missing out on this great fun dance.
I just learn about this from a friend of mine in Australia. He was shocked in the US it wasn't a thing being the song itself.
RIP Tina Turner ❤️
First time I heard of this was upon the passing of Tina Turner. Very cool! Go Australia!
So geil. Wir waren vorigen Monat in Melbourne zur Hochzeit unserer Tochter. Ich bin so begeistert. Kannte den Tanz nicht. Muss ihn lernen. Bin aber schon bissel älter😏🤣. Hilfe, die Luft.😂
I had NO IDEA about this dance and this tradition til I read Wikipedia. For some reason I started crying. Happy tears. To think of the pain that song came from, and seeing it turned into something so joyous. Makes you believe in humanity again.
😂 Until this day, i didn't know about that australian tradition. 👍
RIP Tina. ❤
Mind blown that today I’m only realising this is an Australian thing! Before today, I thought it was global??!!!
Every time the song is played, just have the need to get up and do the dance (with roller skates on)
Thank you Tina for the song that paved way for an iconic party dance.
Yes Ren it is fascinating to us too that it's apparently an Australian thing!
The best time I've ever had doing this dance was at a wedding where the DJ made it slightly faster every verse and by the end it was me in stiletto heels and two guys as the only people remaining doing it at quadruple the speed. So much fun!
yep thats how it used to get played in Oz
Still is 😂
Its so weird to me that this is a strictly Australian phenomena
I had no idea no one else did this lol
And it doesn't matter where you are or how old you are, every Australian knows this dance
I have 25 years experience with the nut bush line dance. I’m now showing the young people.
I worship Tina, but I live in America. How have I not known about this!? 😍🙌🤘
The dance was created in Australia.
We figured it came from you guys just like Tina and the song. We only just realised we were the only ones doing it
I've learned it & I wanna travel just to do the dance among Aussies
It's sad to say but other countries have always admired and loved black music and black artists more than America has. Back in the 50s white kids were not even allowed to listen to black music so America is way way behind other countries when it comes to black music and artists. Sad but true.
I still love nutbush because it gets you into exercise of it
And i never stop in my life
This… is amazing. As an American from St. Louis, where TT got her start, I’m stunned I never knew about this Australian phenomenon.
This dance is very popular at weddings. We love tina
Every disco, every school dance, every party when this song comes on we all do this dance!! R.I.P Tina Turner in Gods Care 🙏🏻
I’m an Aussie that only found out today that it’s not global. My mind is blown!
This is a total classic dance that was massive in the 80’s. Even taught it at school.
💋💋💋💋🥰There’s The Big Red Bash at Birdsville 🇦🇺every year where they continue 👍to break the world record 🥰of people doing 🫶this line dance.🤗This is the most remote 🫶music festival in the world 🌎 and raises funds for the 🇦🇺Royal Flying Doctors in Australia.💃Tina,s iconic song 💃is a crowd favourite.👍So far their up 🤞to 4000 people,💃but this year they’re 💃doing something special.💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶💋💋💋💋💋💋🇦🇺💋💋
Everyone young and old knows it.
Love my Aussies, ❤❤❤
The aussie cha cha slide
It's kind of sad most people in America never heard of this dance. And the whole world loved Tina.
I have never been to a wedding where this doesn’t get played sometime during the night.
Everyone done fantastically well there. Great effort. I could never get it right.
Me either!
I remember doing this at school back in the 90's
I’m American and I just stumbled across this 😂
RIP Tina Turner ❤️
my god i am so happy i dug deeper into this mystery. Thank you Limmy! The bEST
Was any body else dancing along
Nope just me I guess
Everybody loves the Nutbush dance
I am now obsessed with Australian Nutbush dancing... why did we not do this in the states? Does Tina know this is a thing? I have so many questions!
been nutbushing since the song came out. A fave on the dancefloor no matter ur age or what part of oz ur from... its all the same. My first blue light disco at the age of 12 and this was one of the standard dances. You could have an empty dancefloor but as soon as the first 2 bars are played the floor is packed!
I was taught the line dance in primary school in Australia. I must have danced it over 500 times. Geez it’s a rush doing it with others.
It was the Catholic school dance hit!
🤣 yep, from a little town in the South Australian Iron Triangle town and this dance was ingrained into our psyche in the mid-70s. We had no idea this was not a global dance. Tina does know, I have seen her in concert and she has seen the crowd do this.
Did this in the 70s, taught my kids, just taught my granddaughter.
As a pom doing the year gap thing in Sydney they all started doing the "Nut Bush" in the night club!!
The only thing is that you have to check which way people turn, clockwise or counter-clockwise. People learnt it differently, but after the first turn we all do it the same at that venue
Great times back at Concord , line dancing fun with Tina .
My favorite Tina Turner song!
Not gonna lie but that lady in the front in the tight dress can get it 😂
And the girl in white trousers front left
So.... this is true down there huh? 😂😂😂 damn.
You can tell how young a nation is by its dances tbh 😂😂😂
Please dont get offended i find it so great and enjoyful
That's right America
You grew up with cotton eye Joe
*we grew up with the nutbush*
We done this at school and it was pretty hard because it was my first time and I had to sing I I couldn't help it and I was dancing with that
That looks like great fun.
Ikr
If you have never experienced the joy of the Nutbush then you haven't lived!
Oh it is, I love it.
Me: *casuly pases out after doing that dance*
Why wishes santana used thus dance at least once in the glee version of nutbush city limits??? Nope? Just me ooops....
Andrzej Dabrowski i was JUST thinking about that
Weekly planet podcast brought me here 🤣
Tina Turner R I P..
Ahh the old Concord RSL.. Sadly closed down. Hopefully a buyer will come along and take over the club
🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Good wedding dance.
This is brilliant 😂
one time at my school for the book parade the teachers played this song. Some kids were doing the dance and others were doing fortnight dances.
WHY!?!???!
Username they deserve death
Purge them all
thy have been sentenced to death
That’s so funny 😂😂😂
....ofcorse you meant "fortnite" but that other way is fine to understand.
Also yikes.
Every high school dance
Yep. I can definitely confirm that one
WHY only 2:47?! My audiences were always required to endure the extended version. Followed up with Bus Stop, Time Warp and others! My mantra: Go hard or go home!!
Ah Peter if only you could have seen beyond 2.47 not included on the video :)
@@CerocDanceSydney Well, spill the beans...
What is this and why am I watching it?
They make the dance look easy but it isn’t
Lol! Great song, but so random to make a dance to🤣🤣
Wow I always thought it was Nutbush cinnamon... 🙄
🤣
Great dance and so much fun. But I would like to say if your dress is tight and you have to keep pulling it down, give it to someone else :)
Wait is this like the cha cha slide?
yes
Sort of but 30 years earlier
It’s just line dancing to Tina T.
Limmy did it better
For people who don't know how to dance lol
Yep.. and when youve had a few drinks its easy to do😁.
Allow me
Right foot: out side inside
Left foot: out side inside
Right: out back in forward
Left: out back in forward
Right knee: up down up down
Left knee: up down up down
Right leg: kick towards the left
Left leg: cick towards the right
Both left: right and left form and "X" (criss cross)
Whole body: both legs spring the boddy. The upper portion turns, as the legs get ready for the next turn, claps Both hands once back on ground
