What will truly help keep this game from becoming stagnet or dead will be a console realease, once they expand to those platforms wil they actually become Genshin compitition, otherwise it will be treated as a mobile game by those who havent played it.😅
I want the game to succeed because it allows for competition and genshin devs will listen to players more as a result. Same with waves to keep up. Making both games way better as a result and keeping both communities happy.
asking genshin to listen is like asking a cow to fly... they got billions the first year they will just do whatever because they won long time ago, just because there another game around, it wont change even if X game becomes better , free 5 star no happening ever , real anniversary rewards or new permanent end game.
The difference is the Genshin devs dont really like their toxic community that complains for everything. So even if theres better games they just wont care. You can see the another 2 Hoyogames where the devs are close with their community, as example Honkai Impact that almost every single event they give items, Crystals or S-Class chars for free and the last song on Honkai Impact's second concert is the best example how to respond to the love the community gives you

@@DapimpBDSDgenshin simply took the idea of an open world from zelda and you cannot copyright a concept. It's like saying ford's assembly line was his only and other factories couldn't use it. Sure it has similarities which is why it took inspiration from Zelda but the story is completely different. If nintendo had grounds to sue they would've already done so during to early release of Genshin. Plus nintendo even has an article addressing this topic about genshin "cloning" zelda which in summary states they acknowledge the inspiration but they state nothing about it being a copy. Other zelda experts (keep in mind they played zelda first prior to genshin so that negates bias toward hoyo) mostly say similar in exploration completely different otherwise.
I like wuthering considering their f2p friendly which really convinces me to also buy the monthly thing if i have enough money so I can still support them :)
Why even stress about a game failing? Just play and enjoy it when you still can. It's a beautiful peace of art with nice smooth visuals, a wonderful story and mind breaking music.
story is bland and just takes elements from other gacha if you really think about it like open scence where you get a big glowing thing shoved in your chest? literally everyone i know who played HSR said "I that a bleeping stelleron?" People are complaining about the story so much wuwa devs immidiately adding a skip for main story soon too which I find funny. Of course it's a subjective opinion tho no hate

Yes and no. If there's no hype theres no game if theres HUGE hype for the game it will push the devs high to satisfy the bar. Wuthering waves devs REWORKED most of the story because the CBT players said it was bad. Plus games always come out bad and then polish themselves as time goes on. Honkai star rail and genshin impact didnt come out big, only over time they did.
@@fincrocs I think Genshin came out pretty big. They're riding the "bad press" about being the BotW knock-off, but then managed to hook player especially from mobile users. From there, many really invest heavily on it and the shift to PS4 and PC to better experience it. HSR different story.

Ripoff this ripoff that? They all share the same genre so as a game dev it is natural to implement what works best in the genre of the game they made and what the players are used to. Breath of the wild have many good mechanics and many player are used to it so genshin take inspiration from it so it's also natural for wuwa to have some similarities in terms of mechanic since there are alot more people used to genshin. It's just like how most fps multiple player game have similar mechanics from an already existing game and slap their own twist

Kuro games always makes bangers and thats what makes Wuthering Waves and PGR so fun. They are good games.
I would love to agree with you but the game has so many bugs I can not call it a banger. I do enjoy PGR but it feels outdated when compared to HI3 which it is most similar to.

@@JKsMirai While this is mostly true, Hoyoverse's games have released without bugs, even recent ones like HSR, while having bugs, still has very minimal ones, however it was still a playable game on releas. Updating my drivers literally made wuwa unplayable on my pc.

Wuwa got a new advance skill and technique 1.dodge + switch 2.parry + counter + fatality 3. Artifact every in the world even the gold one (not just at domain) 4. Full sprinting didn't consume stamina 5. Weekly boss & standard boss can be artifact (without sacrifices anything) 6. Not using elemental reaction ( some people like it) 7.gacha not scam 8. Good for F2p 9. Free gift 5 stars 10. Puzzle still don't make you crazy 😅
most of us are just excited for it though, another game with great graphics and cool mechanics, at AR 60 in genshin theres only so much we can do in the game anymore while we wait for the next update with more story progress, so having another game to explore is something we actually look forward to!
like the person above me said, we're just excited to play Wuthering Waves. Also, a lot of us Genshin players want Hoyoverse to finally have some good competition so they'll listen to us and fix the issues with their games. Wuthering Waves is already taking what Hoyoverse did and doing it better (like taking all the good elements of each Hoyo game's gacha system and making a unique system for WuWa that is actually fair to the players), who's to say Hoyoverse won't pick up on that and clean up their act? Also, both companies are capable of creating great stories and experiences for players, so I won't be comparing them on that aspect. It's not exactly conducive to anything to say one is better than the other since they're different stories and can't be compared on the same baseline.
Honestly I think of the two as modes, if I want a grounded realistic slow paced gameplay that’s harder I go genshin, if I want fast flashy gameplay that’s easier I go to Wuthering

Genshin never listens to their community unless it was from cn and the anniversary is proof of that and also them recycling events and content made the game dry. I used to love genshin would play that game for hours but overtime that game felt more like a tedious task to do, like i must do my dailies and do events for a character I want instead of lemme play for fun and before wuwa i was still playing that game now and then to let time pass and also because i was waiting for wuwa but now i can finally drop this game because i dont need it anymore
As a Genshin player myself It’s concerning how Genshin impact has such a impact (lol) on Gacha games that now nearly every game and the developers of such games have to face a unnecessary challenge from the high standard now That being said Wuwa looks promising and I hope it won’t suffer the same fate as ToF.
I mean seeing 30M pre registers, hoyo decided to pull the “Make Players come back with great QoL changes” doing the resin count to be better. But that doesn’t change the fact that WW is going to give Hoyo good competition and hopefully force them to change their stingy rewards.
The battle and the whole control of Tof was kind of clunky personally, I stopped playing tof after 3 days I guess. I have been playing genshin for like 3 years and played wuthering waves today after its release comparing both I personally like the battle system in wuthering waves and the character design is also really good. The best part is actually the banner I guess, the weapon banner actually gives you the up 5 star in just 80 pulls unlike genshin, the echo system also kinda feels nice which is similar to the artifacts in genshin I guess. The mc also has a few voice lines very few but it exists. Overall I like wuthering waves combat system the story is not bad the echo system is nice so I will keep playing for now and see how the events and all are gonna be.

@@lakytheshiba123and what does genshin have? Elemental reaction. You need a certain type of char with a specific type of element which limits your play style. The exploration is ass, some exploration type skill like Kazuha's and Wanderer skill is locked behind a Gacha wall which you need to spend lots of time waiting and farming for. Bosses becomes boring because you can just max out your team and make your DPS deals millions of DMG. 4 star characters has no ULT animations. Endgame is literally an artifact and DPS check. And so much more.

Obv there's gonna be less stuff to do in 4 year old game than in a one day old game. Genshin story, world design, character design, everything well done. The "limit your playstyle" is a thing to bring diversity to the gameplay so ppl like u just don't have 10 same dps characters just with different animations. I myself have dropped Genshin and completely moved to HSR. But that doesn't mean it's a bad game. It's nowhere close to it. WuWa characters have almost nothing to them. This game is just so overhyped for the rewards and itself being mid asf.
Kinda worth it, the graphic are better, the animation looks like a real anime than genshin except for the name, most of them are based on chinese. But the cons is, too much details means needs more powerful processor. The gameplay is easier, like you don't need to wait for a whole minute to climb a wall, can even triple jump if you know the tricks, heck even qudra jump for that one starter character. The MC are good, unlike genshin which player barely use, this game's MC are actual 5star characters. Even better than some 4 star pulls.

I loved it in the beggining but the game would crash every three seconds even when I literally just opened it and entered the actual game, moved around and then boom, gone.
I dont expect the game to be like top tier at first, there’s going to be some bugs and glitches because the game just released. So i think the game has alot of potential

My ONLY complaint is how fed up with life the mc sounds whenever she speaks (english) and some glitches (which will get fixed) thats it tho- the game is really fun

But wuthering waves is from a different company and has a lot of the things that Genshin players have been asking for for years so there’s more competition there
why do people think just because another game exist the other will cease to exist. you can play all of them, I do, there's not much happening in hsr and genshin and the release of WuWa is good because you can progress on the story and just do dailies in which games doesn't have an ongoing event. you can do those for like an hour in the morning
I play all 3 and enjoy all 3 so far, exited for clorinde in genshin, Robin in hsr and wuwa I'm exited to see where they take the game in general, I'm most exited to see the bug fixes
Wuthering waves waves introduced a lot of quality of life changes I hope Genshin will implement, like flipping over ledges or changing char while floating
Been playing Genshin Impact for almost 3 years now and I'd say Wuthering Waves is a breath of fresh air I've been looking for. I'm a picky lad so it's hard for me to get into new games easily but WW so far has been great thus far, and I'm excited to see where this game and community goes.
You know, the only times I've seen people comparing wuwa to genshin are when wuwa fans say people are comparing them, and the genshin fans that take the bait comments.

It needs alot of work if the keep fixing it and don't fire writers and voice directors left and right it can still succeed. Also a majority of the day one players dropped it can still die early if they don't handle it well.
The main problem in this game is that the lag is unreal, literally (especially/mostly for mobile devices). If your graphics settings are high the game will sometimes crash and lag, if your graphics settings are low the game will also lag and be a little bit blurry. I hope they fix the lag, it is really horrendous ☠️. Side note: The combat system is one of the best I've ever seen and the potential for it is INSANELY HIGH
Not to mention the camera turning, like I have to use that button on bottom left. (I think it’s targeting the enemies) So I have a bit of struggle while turning left and right. Even I don’t have this point in gi or hsr, they’re smooth also! But I’m still gonna enjoy the game anyway 😅

I recently downloaded this game on my laptop, in my experience, it's somewhat similar to Genshin, just... a bit laggy, but it's overall good, just laggy. This is my opinion. The reason why I say it's similar to genshin, is that both of them have an open battle field and region exploration (like, ik Honaki had it, but I'm talking about like, endless exploration) and both take fall damage.
It’s basic economics-in the free market, you need competition so the consumer doesn’t get screwed over. And I’m enjoying WW quite a bit so far so it’s great competition to have! Although I do wish there was a story log because with all the new undefined terms and unfamiliar names being mentioned, it’s really easy for me to just kind of space out instead of comprehending the dialogue being said. I’m sure I’ll adjust soon though! Regardless, even if Genshin does get better, I have zero intention of going back. This is more so my well wishes for the friends I had when I played on there. Hope you guys are still having fun :)
There's absolutely flaws that should have been fixed. The game was released a bit too early imo, and the combat quality surpasses the story quality. I have hope for the story though because Genshin has come a long way in story from the first patch to current.
I think people say that in comparison to genshins success. Also preregistrations =/= active, let alone spending players. For all you know 1fourth of these won't even bother playing the game because they'll either forget about it or quit after playing for few days because attention span being at all time low. Not to mention people might go back to genshin once the "its genshin killer" phase passes.

The combat is really nice but the story is ass though. Had a few frames dips when going to new areas other than that haven't really encountered any optimization errors
True, finally an opinion similar to mine. Most of the ww reviews I saw are about combat. Which is something I personally am not interested in cuz I dig good stories. Even in genshin combat is the last thing I care about. But as of now ww is not delivering much when it comes to the story for me. Hoping it'll get better tho.

The only complaints I have is some subpar voice acting and the glitches right now. HOWEVER! I'm happy to be patient. It's still a new game and needs a little more time now that anyone can play
The fact that you have to grind after just a bit of the story is crazy. I know getting union 10 - 14 probably won’t take long but damn I really don’t feel like doing side quests.

The other part is the amount of wishing like, they make fucking 80 characters in genshin and its hard to get one without getting a four star or five star weapon, so like in Wuthering waves it has higher chance of character unlike genshin
Just coz 30 million people pre-registered doesn't me it won't fail. This game is more grindy than Genshin (if you followed the beta testers, you would know). It's less vibrant and needs tweaks to be able to enjoy it longer. Has a lot of bugs, a lot of simple ones that wasn't cleared even after beta. The UI needs improvement and everything is similar to Genshin, so most old players will go back to Genshin. The Combat and exploration is cool but it seems just like a collection of already existing game including the starting story. Well, it's good, people can enjoy it and it has a lot more dynamic aspect to it's Combat.

@@stevenongszekuan9932 it’s true that companies shouldn’t always follow this route, but Genshin is still relevant at least in sales, even tho it’s obviously not as popular as it was before. The only gacha competing on sales is hsr, another hoyo game. Hoyo never moved from Genshin because they never payed much attention to it compared to their other games to begin with(the in game systems, the music and art work are very good). They just recently upgraded a little bit the resin system after 4 years and still lack simple life quality features that players had been asking for years that are in honkai
Now hear me out, WuWa is less vibrant because it’s supposed to be “post-apocalyptic”. I don’t really mind the grind, the only thing that bothers me is the glitches (currently being worked on), Limited character and weapon banner using different currency to summon, and the mid English voice acting. On release the game has already been more generous than Genshin has ever been in 3 years. Giving out basically 40-50 standard summons day 1 is pretty wild, especially since it’s a guaranteed 5 star on the beginner banner.

wuthering waves is great, i mean, you can pet and feed the dogs. that's amazing. and it does have bugs i'm sure, but i haven't come across them yet (except for crashing) so i'm pretty happy. excited for the new updates, it's super cool
I was cautiously optimistic about the game, but very pleasently surprised when it dropped with the end product. Sure, I have some performance issues, but the devs seem to be very active with game maintenance, which is always a great sign
Why is people so hateful about this game? I mean, they spent 3 years developing this game, being super open with content creators and they were really generous to the players with their really big rewards. Yet they have some bugs after JUST 1 day of release (i didn't experience any of these though)... Come on people, lest just try to give them some time, their games weren't that big until this one, so they didn't expect their servers to be that overwhelmed probably. Also I think this is their first game that uses unreal engine, everything was on Unity until now I think, so probably they made some novice errors, nothing that deserves all this hate imo.
I see people saying genshin could never more than seeing someone really think wuwa will flop tbh, never seen that actually. Kuro just being generous doesn't make it better company than hoyo tho, Kuro got blacklisted as company after firing over 100 intern that they pretty much have bleak future after this because kuro make them having bad resume.
I played honkai star rail since launch and it was not this bad, this is catastrophic, cyberpunk 2077 ahhh launch. Hope they can bounce back because I’m really having fun.

The game it's literally two days old and we have rights to complaint, pre-registration doesn't mean anything if the resultant product has big flaws such as frame drops, badly optimization and localization and even a worse EN dub
I think it definitely can get boring with time once you explore everything BUT for now the characters being so expressive is a big win. There is a lot i like abt this game and it makes me genuinely want to play for the play itself
Agree, I've been playing since release and I thought it was just my Device issue. But My Friends Hi End PC still suffer from some of this problems. I Used iPad Air M1, and Android With Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. I play others game with no Trouble. (i.e Genshin with 60fps High Setting, HSR with High 60 fps)
I still haven't faced any issues related to performance, frame rates and lags. Maybe I have a high end PC or maybe I'm among the lucky ones who didn't face any single bugs during 1.0 Cyberpunk 2077.
Wuwaves maintained all the boring mechanics from genshin, but gameplay-wise it's better than genshin of course. The battles are more dynamic, switching has skills. However i think they took map inspiration from genshin and didn't improve on it. I remember this because certain f-ing teleporters are under caveholes, the pathways are similar, very annoyingly memorable. I still can't believe they didn't take more inspirations from honkai star rail. Genshin loses player-base due mainly to time grind on exploration and complex lore story telling. HSR realized and improve on map building by shrinking location and improve map detail instead, all of this due to most players having not enough time to find the chest all over the world and the limitation of good detailing. Being a mobile game, and the phone screen size limits how much you can view scenaries. Obviously unavoidable however since they market and develop it as open world. Now the most important thing, lore. Wuwave didn't mystify me at all, maybe I'm biased or how AEON concept appealed to me earlier than this. It feels wuwave just forces me to read information without being interesting. Genshin also tends to crack a lot between casual and serious. HSR however took casual direction, very similar to manga storytelling, input necessary information only as foreshadow and only to explain situation and, finally innovatively, all the complex information is input as a database. This makes all side quests and letters and books more relatable, more personal and easier to foreshadow details for the future. Then for extra information about the world and perspective, they put in behind content (Simulated Universe) to avoid overloading story content. Thus due to how organized it is, the necessary lore becomes expressively understandable. Wuwaves is definitely better than the genshin i know 1-2 years ago. The graphics are sharper, animations are just better. If there is any more complaint i have, is that why does vertical sensitivity different that horizontal, auto camera feels so bad with dynamic fighting gameplay, why the camera stops everytime i get an achievement, why does walking up down the mountain the screen shakes as if i am climbing, making me dizzy. I guess they didn’t take inspiration from hsr probably because of different gameplay. The game feels rushed, there’s still a lot of polishing to do and I think they should’ve waited instead of launching it so soon. Another problem with the story I think it’s the voice acting, I’m not talking about the voice actors themselves, but the people who directed them. @@iker9095 Yeah, that's really a hindsight, especially for lore writing. hsr probably has one the best clarity for story telling in mobile games at the moment. Previous games did try to put manga--like progression, but no one did it as nearly great as hsr. I also agree with the voice acting. Personally it felt like the VA's don't even understand what they are talking about, or maybe the directors don't understand them too. Sad

I'd like to also say that there is still hope for the story to get better since it's just starting now. Geshin's quests were mainly beginning to get better since sumeru and now Fontaine having one the best, if not the best quest with it's final act. From the voice acting part, I think it was most likely the direction and not the VAs fault. They weren't mind-blowing, but the VAs were doing ok except the scen inconsistencies. I find it hard to believe professional voice actors can't even voice 3 different basic emotions

The VAs probably only had the isolated lines themselves to work off of, and only like 2-3 reads before being rushed to the next line. It actually has an extremely similar feel to the English dub of Xenoblade Chronicles 2, which had the same rush.
As someone who loves genshin, I probably will never touch this game (mainly due to storage issue), im grateful that theres finally a competition for genshin just so genshin can improve idk if this is planned before wuthering waves but the resin cap increased so thats a start hopefully it keeps getting better though
Genshin players hate the game because they think it's a ripoff. Well have they ever thought of Zelda: Breath of the Wild? Sonic: Frontiers? No I don't think so. This game has way better combat mechanics that Genshin does not have, for example boss parries, boss finishers (story mode), outro attacks, intro attacks and a lot more flexible aerial combos. Although the characters bear some resemblance such as the 4 star Taoqi resembling Noelle, they are unique in their character models and animations. With that being said, everyone has their own opinion but I think this game is amazing. Best gacha game I've ever played so far.
Not to mention WuWa have their own Pokemon-esque system where we can actually call on said "Pokemon" in battle. Lol. One of the things I think is superior to Genshin
Genshin player here, I like the game, it has similarities but it's still very different, both games are fun and both games have different combat styles, genshin is more focused on elemental reactions and team synergies and getting your rotations right whereas wuwa is more focused on the action of swapping out and less about what follows after you swap out, like you can't use the thing that another character placed to boost the damage of the character you switched to, focusing more on the individual characters
Genshin players have a reason to hate other gacha games. You see most of them are phone players anf they are running out of storage space. So to cope with the fact that they cant install another large game they have to convince themselves that other games are bad and say that to others otherwise they are getting FOMO.

Just play the game. WuWa will be a better game after it has been flushed out. There's no need to shit on Genshin. There's also no need to shit on WuWa for being buggy. Genshin has had 4 years of development. This game just came out. Give it time so we can find out if it becomes a flop like ToF or a success like Genshin. Either way, we all know how the endgame of all gacha games will be like: people getting bored and pissed after years of playing and want something new and saying the next gacha game will kill the previous gacha game.

This game is already better than most of the Open/Semi Open World Gachas I played, the hard quests with strong bosses actually rewards you with resources that are useful for late game upgrades unlike a certain game that asks you to complete this ultra hard quest that essentially requires co-op mode or P2W your way to it, only to get basic loots, bruh
The controls for mobile is a bit problematic...thats my only problem I'm aiming for a perfect counter every boss but I sometimes press jump since the jump and attack are close
10 pulls for maintenance & another 10 just because, followed by another 10 limited, & a free 5*, meanwhile hoyo can't even do 10 for anniversaries, its hoyover
@@UncertainWater no clue what that shit is brother I couldn't even play to the klee banner that game was so boring, the 1st coop event was bugged, coop was also mid, starting banner was a trap I didn't want, the 2 5*s I did get were jean & diluc, 2 of the most boring characters I've ever played, meanwhile im running up walls with rover, who doesn't get winded after running 5 feet, who also runs indefinitely when not in combat, I can dodge & parry, which are both things you aren't able to do in genshin, you can capture enemies, fight enemies indefinitely because they're the artifacts, so you aren't waiting on resin everyday
same, I’m running on a mid-level pc too (2 years old) and the load times were way too long. I did fix it by installing it on a ssd though, but you can’t do that on a phone tho 😭

As a day 1 genshin player to date, i can tell u that this games is a serious contender for genshin domination. Love playing both games, but i kinda bored playing genshin, so WuWa gives a fresh air and excel at what genshin lacks: 1. Combat experience is so satisfying I haven't get into elemental reactions combo (which genshin is excel at) but the echo, intro, outro, elemental skill, and ultimate is so fun to try. Not mentions aerial combo, dodge and parry mechanics. 2. Explorations, the dash climbing mechanics, wish that genshin has it. 3. Skipable dialogue, sometimes i just want to just fight and experience the story later by watching on some lore intensive yt channel. 4. echoes (artifacts on genshin) is more generic, not specific as genshin does. Like, nowadays genshin create more specific artifacts for certain character. 5. Platwaves (resin on genshin) pool is at max capacity (240), so for casual gamer, u just need to spend it n not thinking about ur resin will capped at 160 like genshin does. 6. Only 1 daily quests vs 4 on genshin, though it's a 3-7 minutes quests, that's a breather for me who feel like a burn out on genshin. Some of the downside, based on my initial review are: 1. The echoes (artifacts on genshin) RNG seems like a pain in the ass and it will be the real money grabber. Don't get me wrong, genshin artifacts mechanics RNG is already painful, WuWa echoes is way more painful. 2. The platewaves consumption is so expensive, the highest genshin has is a 60 cost for weekly boss if u already spend all of ur discounted price. But on wuwa, overworld explorations boss and echoes farming cost 60, and i did mention the echoes RNG will be painful right.

Got the quick answer for you. Long answer, refinement. Most people assume they are getting a genshin 2 but from playing hi3 and pgr, the last copy kuro games tried to make, the polish is just on another level for hoyo games. Gotcha games have a larger audience thanks to the explosion of genshin but most of the main stream players expect major gotcha releases to be on the level of hoyo games, a tall order. If this game is to fail it will fail for the same reason ToF failed. That major reason being a lack of refinement.

Sure it has similarities which is why it took inspiration from Zelda but the story is completely different. If nintendo had grounds to sue they would've already done so during to early release of Genshin. Plus nintendo even has an article addressing this topic about genshin "cloning" zelda which in summary states they acknowledge the inspiration but they state nothing about it being a copy. Other zelda experts (keep in mind they played zelda first prior to genshin so that negates bias toward hoyo) mostly say similar in exploration completely different otherwise.

Yes and no. If there's no hype theres no game if theres HUGE hype for the game it will push the devs high to satisfy the bar. Wuthering waves devs REWORKED most of the story because the CBT players said it was bad. Plus games always come out bad and then polish themselves as time goes on. Honkai star rail and genshin impact didnt come out big, only over time they did.
@@fincrocs I think Genshin came out pretty big. They're riding the "bad press" about being the BotW knock-off, but then managed to hook player especially from mobile users. From there, many really invest heavily on it and the shift to PS4 and PC to better experience it. HSR different story.

Breath of the wild have many good mechanics and many player are used to it so genshin take inspiration from it so it's also natural for wuwa to have some similarities in terms of mechanic since there are alot more people used to genshin. most of us are just excited for it though, another game with great graphics and cool mechanics, at AR 60 in genshin theres only so much we can do in the game anymore while we wait for the next update with more story progress, so having another game to explore is something we actually look forward to!

Also, a lot of us Genshin players want Hoyoverse to finally have some good competition so they'll listen to us and fix the issues with their games. Wuthering Waves is already taking what Hoyoverse did and doing it better (like taking all the good elements of each Hoyo game's gacha system and making a unique system for WuWa that is actually fair to the players), who's to say Hoyoverse won't pick up on that and clean up their act?
Also, both companies are capable of creating great stories and experiences for players, so I won't be comparing them on that aspect. It's not exactly conducive to anything to say one is better than the other since they're different stories and can't be compared on the same baseline.
Honestly I think of the two as modes, if I want a grounded realistic slow paced gameplay that’s harder I go genshin, if I want fast flashy gameplay that’s easier I go to Wuthering

As a Genshin player myself It’s concerning how Genshin impact has such a impact (lol) on Gacha games that now nearly every game and the developers of such games have to face a unnecessary challenge from the high standard now
That being said Wuwa looks promising and I hope it won’t suffer the same fate as ToF.
I mean seeing 30M pre registers, hoyo decided to pull the “Make Players come back with great QoL changes” doing the resin count to be better. But that doesn’t change the fact that WW is going to give Hoyo good competition and hopefully force them to change their stingy rewards.

The battle and the whole control of Tof was kind of clunky personally, I stopped playing tof after 3 days I guess. I have been playing genshin for like 3 years and played wuthering waves today after its release comparing both I personally like the battle system in wuthering waves and the character design is also really good. The best part is actually the banner I guess, the weapon banner actually gives you the up 5 star in just 80 pulls unlike genshin, the echo system also kinda feels nice which is similar to the artifacts in genshin I guess. The mc also has a few voice lines very few but it exists. Overall I like wuthering waves combat system the story is not bad the echo system is nice so I will keep playing for now and see how the events and all are gonna be.

The exploration is ass, some exploration type skill like Kazuha's and Wanderer skill is locked behind a Gacha wall which you need to spend lots of time waiting and farming for. Bosses becomes boring because you can just max out your team and make your DPS deals millions of DMG. 4 star characters has no ULT animations. Endgame is literally an artifact and DPS check. And so much more.

The "limit your playstyle" is a thing to bring diversity to the gameplay so ppl like u just don't have 10 same dps characters just with different animations. I myself have dropped Genshin and completely moved to HSR. But that doesn't mean it's a bad game. It's nowhere close to it. WuWa characters have almost nothing to them. This game is just so overhyped for the rewards and itself being mid asf.

Kinda worth it, the graphic are better, the animation looks like a real anime than genshin except for the name, most of them are based on chinese. But the cons is, too much details means needs more powerful processor. The gameplay is easier, like you don't need to wait for a whole minute to climb a wall, can even triple jump if you know the tricks, heck even qudra jump for that one starter character. The MC are good, unlike genshin which player barely use, this game's MC are actual 5star characters. Even better than some 4 star pulls.

why do people think just because another game exist the other will cease to exist. you can play all of them, I do, there's not much happening in hsr and genshin and the release of WuWa is good because you can progress on the story and just do dailies in which games doesn't have an ongoing event. you can do those for like an hour in the morning

Been playing Genshin Impact for almost 3 years now and I'd say Wuthering Waves is a breath of fresh air I've been looking for. I'm a picky lad so it's hard for me to get into new games easily but WW so far has been great thus far, and I'm excited to see where this game and community goes.

It needs alot of work if the keep fixing it and don't fire writers and voice directors left and right it can still succeed. Also a majority of the day one players dropped it can still die early if they don't handle it well.
The main problem in this game is that the lag is unreal, literally (especially/mostly for mobile devices). If your graphics settings are high the game will sometimes crash and lag, if your graphics settings are low the game will also lag and be a little bit blurry. I hope they fix the lag, it is really horrendous ☠️.
Side note: The combat system is one of the best I've ever seen and the potential for it is INSANELY HIGH
Not to mention the camera turning, like I have to use that button on bottom left. (I think it’s targeting the enemies) So I have a bit of struggle while turning left and right. Even I don’t have this point in gi or hsr, they’re smooth also! But I’m still gonna enjoy the game anyway 😅

I recently downloaded this game on my laptop, in my experience, it's somewhat similar to Genshin, just... a bit laggy, but it's overall good, just laggy. This is my opinion.
The reason why I say it's similar to genshin, is that both of them have an open battle field and region exploration (like, ik Honaki had it, but I'm talking about like, endless exploration) and both take fall damage.
It’s basic economics-in the free market, you need competition so the consumer doesn’t get screwed over. And I’m enjoying WW quite a bit so far so it’s great competition to have! Although I do wish there was a story log because with all the new undefined terms and unfamiliar names being mentioned, it’s really easy for me to just kind of space out instead of comprehending the dialogue being said. I’m sure I’ll adjust soon though! Regardless, even if Genshin does get better, I have zero intention of going back. This is more so my well wishes for the friends I had when I played on there. Hope you guys are still having fun :)

There's absolutely flaws that should have been fixed. The game was released a bit too early imo, and the combat quality surpasses the story quality. I have hope for the story though because Genshin has come a long way in story from the first patch to current.
I think people say that in comparison to genshins success. Also preregistrations =/= active, let alone spending players. For all you know 1fourth of these won't even bother playing the game because they'll either forget about it or quit after playing for few days because attention span being at all time low. Not to mention people might go back to genshin once the "its genshin killer" phase passes.

Just coz 30 million people pre-registered doesn't me it won't fail. This game is more grindy than Genshin (if you followed the beta testers, you would know). It's less vibrant and needs tweaks to be able to enjoy it longer. Has a lot of bugs, a lot of simple ones that wasn't cleared even after beta. The UI needs improvement and everything is similar to Genshin, so most old players will go back to Genshin. The Combat and exploration is cool but it seems just like a collection of already existing game including the starting story. Well, it's good, people can enjoy it and it has a lot more dynamic aspect to it's Combat.

The only gacha competing on sales is hsr, another hoyo game. Hoyo never moved from Genshin because they never payed much attention to it compared to their other games to begin with(the in game systems, the music and art work are very good). They just recently upgraded a little bit the resin system after 4 years and still lack simple life quality features that players had been asking for years that are in honkai
Now hear me out, WuWa is less vibrant because it’s supposed to be “post-apocalyptic”. I don’t really mind the grind, the only thing that bothers me is the glitches (currently being worked on), Limited character and weapon banner using different currency to summon, and the mid English voice acting. On release the game has already been more generous than Genshin has ever been in 3 years. Giving out basically 40-50 standard summons day 1 is pretty wild, especially since it’s a guaranteed 5 star on the beginner banner.

wuthering waves is great, i mean, you can pet and feed the dogs. that's amazing. and it does have bugs i'm sure, but i haven't come across them yet (except for crashing) so i'm pretty happy. excited for the new updates, it's super cool
I was cautiously optimistic about the game, but very pleasently surprised when it dropped with the end product. Sure, I have some performance issues, but the devs seem to be very active with game maintenance, which is always a great sign
Why is people so hateful about this game? I mean, they spent 3 years developing this game, being super open with content creators and they were really generous to the players with their really big rewards. Yet they have some bugs after JUST 1 day of release (i didn't experience any of these though)... Come on people, lest just try to give them some time, their games weren't that big until this one, so they didn't expect their servers to be that overwhelmed probably.
Also I think this is their first game that uses unreal engine, everything was on Unity until now I think, so probably they made some novice errors, nothing that deserves all this hate imo.

Agree, I've been playing since release and I thought it was just my Device issue. But My Friends Hi End PC still suffer from some of this problems.
I Used iPad Air M1, and Android With Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. I play others game with no Trouble. (i.e Genshin with 60fps High Setting, HSR with High 60 fps)

Wuwaves maintained all the boring mechanics from genshin, but gameplay-wise it's better than genshin of course. The battles are more dynamic, switching has skills. However i think they took map inspiration from genshin and didn't improve on it. I remember this because certain f-ing teleporters are under caveholes, the pathways are similar, very annoyingly memorable.
I still can't believe they didn't take more inspirations from honkai star rail. Genshin loses player-base due mainly to time grind on exploration and complex lore story telling. HSR realized and improve on map building by shrinking location and improve map detail instead, all of this due to most players having not enough time to find the chest all over the world and the limitation of good detailing. Being a mobile game, and the phone screen size limits how much you can view scenaries. Obviously unavoidable however since they market and develop it as open world.
Now the most important thing, lore. Wuwave didn't mystify me at all, maybe I'm biased or how AEON concept appealed to me earlier than this. It feels wuwave just forces me to read information without being interesting. Genshin also tends to crack a lot between casual and serious. HSR however took casual direction, very similar to manga storytelling, input necessary information only as foreshadow and only to explain situation and, finally innovatively, all the complex information is input as a database. This makes all side quests and letters and books more relatable, more personal and easier to foreshadow details for the future. Then for extra information about the world and perspective, they put in behind content (Simulated Universe) to avoid overloading story content. Thus due to how organized it is, the necessary lore becomes expressively understandable.
Wuwaves is definitely better than the genshin i know 1-2 years ago. The graphics are sharper, animations are just better. If there is any more complaint i have, is that why does vertical sensitivity different that horizontal, auto camera feels so bad with dynamic fighting gameplay, why the camera stops everytime i get an achievement, why does walking up down the mountain the screen shakes as if i am climbing, making me dizzy. There are definitely potentials to seduce genshin whales. I really hope wuwaves improve a lot in the future.

The game feels rushed, there’s still a lot of polishing to do and I think they should’ve waited instead of launching it so soon. Another problem with the story I think it’s the voice acting, I’m not talking about the voice actors themselves, but the people who directed them. It’s incredibly monotonous throughout the story, yangyang for example always has a soft and calm voice even when we were fighting scar
@@iker9095 Yeah, that's really a hindsight, especially for lore writing. hsr probably has one the best clarity for story telling in mobile games at the moment. Previous games did try to put manga--like progression, but no one did it as nearly great as hsr.
I also agree with the voice acting. Personally it felt like the VA's don't even understand what they are talking about, or maybe the directors don't understand them too. Sad

I'd like to also say that there is still hope for the story to get better since it's just starting now. Geshin's quests were mainly beginning to get better since sumeru and now Fontaine having one the best, if not the best quest with it's final act. From the voice acting part, I think it was most likely the direction and not the VAs fault. They weren't mind-blowing, but the VAs were doing ok except the scen inconsistencies. I find it hard to believe professional voice actors can't even voice 3 different basic emotions

The VAs probably only had the isolated lines themselves to work off of, and only like 2-3 reads before being rushed to the next line. It actually has an extremely similar feel to the English dub of Xenoblade Chronicles 2, which had the same rush.

As someone who loves genshin, I probably will never touch this game (mainly due to storage issue), im grateful that theres finally a competition for genshin just so genshin can improve idk if this is planned before wuthering waves but the resin cap increased so thats a start hopefully it keeps getting better though
Genshin players hate the game because they think it's a ripoff. Well have they ever thought of Zelda: Breath of the Wild? Sonic: Frontiers? No I don't think so. This game has way better combat mechanics that Genshin does not have, for example boss parries, boss finishers (story mode), outro attacks, intro attacks and a lot more flexible aerial combos. Although the characters bear some resemblance such as the 4 star Taoqi resembling Noelle, they are unique in their character models and animations. With that being said, everyone has their own opinion but I think this game is amazing. Best gacha game I've ever played so far.
Not to mention WuWa have their own Pokemon-esque system where we can actually call on said "Pokemon" in battle. Lol. One of the things I think is superior to Genshin

Genshin player here, I like the game, it has similarities but it's still very different, both games are fun and both games have different combat styles, genshin is more focused on elemental reactions and team synergies and getting your rotations right whereas wuwa is more focused on the action of swapping out and less about what follows after you swap out, like you can't use the thing that another character placed to boost the damage of the character you switched to, focusing more on the individual characters
Genshin players have a reason to hate other gacha games. You see most of them are phone players anf they are running out of storage space. So to cope with the fact that they cant install another large game they have to convince themselves that other games are bad and say that to others otherwise they are getting FOMO.
the fact that the people that are crying about storage issue either playing on 64GB storage, too many videos inside their files or screenshots that just laying rotten and did not even bother freeing them or sending them to cloud/backup external storage or maybe deleting unused apps, is just pure stupidity to themselves

Just play the game. WuWa will be a better game after it has been flushed out. There's no need to shit on Genshin. There's also no need to shit on WuWa for being buggy. Genshin has had 4 years of development. This game just came out. Give it time so we can find out if it becomes a flop like ToF or a success like Genshin.
Either way, we all know how the endgame of all gacha games will be like: people getting bored and pissed after years of playing and want something new and saying the next gacha game will kill the previous gacha game.

This game is already better than most of the Open/Semi Open World Gachas I played, the hard quests with strong bosses actually rewards you with resources that are useful for late game upgrades unlike a certain game that asks you to complete this ultra hard quest that essentially requires co-op mode or P2W your way to it, only to get basic loots, bruh
The controls for mobile is a bit problematic...thats my only problem I'm aiming for a perfect counter every boss but I sometimes press jump since the jump and attack are close

As a day 1 genshin player to date, i can tell u that this games is a serious contender for genshin domination. Love playing both games, but i kinda bored playing genshin, so WuWa gives a fresh air and excel at what genshin lacks:
1. Combat experience is so satisfying
I haven't get into elemental reactions combo (which genshin is excel at) but the echo, intro, outro, elemental skill, and ultimate is so fun to try. Not mentions aerial combo, dodge and parry mechanics.
2. Explorations, the dash climbing mechanics, wish that genshin has it.
3. Skipable dialogue, sometimes i just want to just fight and experience the story later by watching on some lore intensive yt channel.
4. echoes (artifacts on genshin) is more generic, not specific as genshin does. Like, nowadays genshin create more specific artifacts for certain character.
5. Platwaves (resin on genshin) pool is at max capacity (240), so for casual gamer, u just need to spend it n not thinking about ur resin will capped at 160 like genshin does.
6. Only 1 daily quests vs 4 on genshin, though it's a 3-7 minutes quests, that's a breather for me who feel like a burn out on genshin.
Some of the downside, based on my initial review are:
1. The echoes (artifacts on genshin) RNG seems like a pain in the ass and it will be the real money grabber. Don't get me wrong, genshin artifacts mechanics RNG is already painful, WuWa echoes is way more painful.
2. The platewaves consumption is so expensive, the highest genshin has is a 60 cost for weekly boss if u already spend all of ur discounted price. But on wuwa, overworld explorations boss and echoes farming cost 60, and i did mention the echoes RNG will be painful right.
I pre-registered and my only complaint so far is that it keeps kicking me out. Tho from what I did play, I do find some things pretty nice, like the echo thing
And another sad news is that my XR couldn’t handle this game.😭

Long answer, refinement. Most people assume they are getting a genshin 2 but from playing hi3 and pgr, the last copy kuro games tried to make, the polish is just on another level for hoyo games. Gotcha games have a larger audience thanks to the explosion of genshin but most of the main stream players expect major gotcha releases to be on the level of hoyo games, a tall order. If this game is to fail it will fail for the same reason ToF failed. That major reason being a lack of refinement.
