For quick reference, here is how the grid is set up at the start of the project: . grid: 1000 x 1000 pixels and 100 x 100 dividers . transform > more options . unlinked . height: 86.602% . shear: -30 . rotate: 30 . add a stroke color . scale it to fill the artboard area You can now lock this layer and continue working on any isometric design!
Followed along with this creation. And it was really fun to give it a go :). I also realized you can use the curvature tool to do the round corners of text, as long as you lock the selection layers of the surrounding text and the letter you are creating the shadow for. All in all, it does take a bit of precision to match the curve but, that's why the direction selection tool exists too :p.
I tried to follow along but it seems the new version of Ai I am using does not have some of the settings to follow this step by step. Looks cool though.
Dansky you so clever they are some tricks that you are using makes life easy for me I always do them manually and it's so hard but I can now save time with your tricks thank you for the tutorial
Awww I wish I could upload and show you my 'homework art' here! Thanks! I used 8 letters in one line, but it seemed not good. Maybe just keep it 2 lines and each line have 4 letters would be better.
Awesome tutorial, thanks alot, learnt something new..... But I couldn't complete the latter part of the lesson because I couldn't find that FREE FORM GRADIENT. Please why is that?.. please respond as soon as possible
Hi! Make sure you're using the latest version of Illustrator, as older versions might not support the 3D and Extrude features properly. Also, check that your object is selected before applying the effect. Cheers!
I've been reading/watching Envato's courses and tutorials for a little more than six years... I only just found out it's pronounced Env-at-oh and not Env-a-toe!
Hi Asif, this course doesn't require any specific project files. There is a link in the description to the font he uses, but you can use any font you like to learn the effect. Thanks for watching!
You're going a bit fast....not quite beginner friendly. Had to keep rewinding especially with the moving up and down. Taking a break. I'll be back though

They changed the 3D feature in the newest version of Illustrator (26.0.2). And for some reason it's very difficult to extrude it as easy as you do.
