Ok so I have to make an isometric drawing for a class, where we had access to a tutorial that you otherwise had to pay money for if I wasn’t a student. It was confusing garbage, but this is so much better and actually FREE. thank you much for this.
The isometric style was one of my first passions when starting with illustrator back in the days, but it always seemed like a very advanced style to follow - but this video made it so clear and simple to not just follow along but to make anything in the isometric style. Thank you so much for sharing Satori, I will go back to it once again after all this years for sure after watching this
Tbh Satori is behind the success of many Graphic designers today, I think this channel should be called Satori graphics University. Cause this channel has like all you need to start a graphic design business and the quality of the content allows you to keep in mind good ethics when working in the industry. Superb
OMG THANK YOU SO SO MUCH, I WAS LOOKING FOR THE RIGHT TERM OF THIS DESIGN AND I FOUND YOUR VIDEO. I WAS ON FIRE SINCE I HAVE TO DO THIS FOR FINAL EXAM IN TYPOGRAPHY
what really helped for me is putting the grid on top of all the layers and occasionally hiding it. that way I don't have to fill and un-fill the shapes. btw awesome tutorial!
I guess isometric illustrations is just going to grow bigger in 2019. Looks cool, to be honest, I'm working on mastering this trend. You helped a lot! Thanks!
IF you're wondering like me, what's with the most specific 57.74% thing, it's the rounded value for tan(30deg) which is 0.57735... apparently. In isometric projection, it seems that the grid (corner) itself takes 120 degrees, which leaves both sides equally 30 degrees each on a flat horizontal line. I probably didn't explain it superb, so search for "isometric projection" if you want to read in detail!
This looks amazing! I'm gonna try it right now, but I'd like to say that if you do a tutorial it would be much much better to show every little detail you do because people who know all that stuff don't watch tutorials and for us, people who came here to actually learn, seeing that you skipped so many things is pretty disappointing:( Otherwise, great video, thank you :)
Soooo, I just tried it and o my god that was so fun to do! And, I'm taking my words back, I easily did everything following your tutorial and there was really no sense in showing parts you skipped. Everything turned out to be much easier than it seemed when I just watched your video. Again, thank you for the amazing tutorial, can't wait to play with isometric designs more and more! By the way, if you, or anyone else, want to see what my house looks like here's my insta - @kitttq (sorry for self-promo, I'm just super excited to share my drawing)
thanks for the video!! really helpful :) Just one small comment.. I think the shadow on the table is wrong as it would be on a higher plane, so the line of the shadow on the floor would not be the same as on the round table, I think.
Here's an isometric video that uses gradients and textures: ruclips.net/video/M2-4-URRYn8/видео.html

Felt like you paid college just to get a degree.
So literally, buying a degree
@@sirbachelorboredmen1314 there’s some classes that are very helpful and worth doing, but yeah, basically 🫠

Thanks so much for these cool and kind words, have a great day
For the record: if you use object->transformation->scale you can have a percentage in an illustrator action.
Also, thank you for this great tutorial!
You saved me from biting my elbows
Isometric design is always fun...Thanks for sharing this :D
@@SatoriGraphics That's so true, it looks much more difficult than it is!
To avoid endless switches between contour and fill just set your isometric grid to Multiply mode and place it OVER the scene in a separate level.
@@SatoriGraphics you're welcome, i learned some tricks from you as well. Your channel is very useful! Thanks!
Agreed, first thing I did. 😃
@@shadowofthemoon9195 Damn, deleted their reply.
Good trick if a static image is the goal but this doesn't translate well to other programs like After Effects

Great tutorial! Isometric design can be quite challenging, but your step-by-step approach makes it accessible and enjoyable

Woudefull Satory! I love
What I really cherish about your video most is your "accent". That's why I always love to watch your video every day.
I love everything about you!

I love how designers have unilaterally decided that there is no need for the Perspective tools in Illustrator. WE DO IT LIVE!
SATORI is the best on RUclips .... Im Lucky for I have a Professional Graphics Teacher (SATORI)

these look really aesthetic, great work ! : D
Thanks, most people don't know the difference between and speedart and a tutorial, but not muh man Satori.
Awesome video! This is a great example of what I’m looking to learn. Love to see more video of how to make different things!
Your lesson is very helpful thank you & you explain it very well
Thank you very much Minal, hope you have a great day!
that was pretty darn nifty, never knew what that grid option was for. Always made my own with squares and such which took forever. So easy to follow!!
Really great video!
I simply amazed at this isometric house. You put some great thought into this Sir Tom. Thanks for sharing. As always have a great day.
Satori Graphics I just may do that Sir Tom.
Great video. I think I'm learning more on design simply by watching your video's.
thx for you tutorial master satori, really helpful for me

Stori Graphics is the best youtube channel for leaning graphics.

that's awesome to know Minna, cheers for the comment!
Woooow!!! Nice!
Thanks:))
Great video. Helped me do some tweaks in an important project. Thanks!
Really helped me out with drawing, spent a while using the perspective tool, which wasn't quite right for the style i wanted.
To create an isometric grid, I find having 3 vertical line grid and rotate one by 60º and another 120º be much easier and precise.
Thanks for this. Easy to follow
Glad to hear that man, enjoy your day
i find it so relaxing to watch :)
I really liked this tutorial and it happened that I actually wanted to learn more about isometric designs. :)
Thx so much for the tips, currently finishing my degree during COVID-19 at home 🌚
Cheers for the comment Ana, and all the best for your degree 💪

awesome i didn't have to speed up the video, useful, cheers!
Great to know, thanks for the feedback Esra
I think that exact number for h value transform( 1:54 ) is 54.73. it comes from (90-arctan(1/√2)) . beside of that thanks for your great tutorial :)
Lovely tutorial! Such accuracy in building something so difficult sometimes. Loved the trick with the Transform setting.
@@SatoriGraphics 💙
awesome work dude. you make it look way too easy...
I appreciate that thanks :)
good tip for the 57.74% on the grid H value at 01:55 thanks
Fire content!!! thank you sir!!
No problemo :)
Little tipp: Make a grid, then rotate it 45° and press [Ctr]+[8] and then transform the hight to 57,74%. I think thats it.
tried some isometric illustrations.. it was fun.
Very nice one! Thanks
I loved it, especially when creating the grid, that alone made me feel its 50% of the job
Thanks a lot for the feedback 👍
