Just picked one up for 1500. Single can long bed, I6, 5 speed. Needs a paint job, some hvac work, fron fuel pump, and the driver door doesn't open from the inside. Truck is solid though and only has one bad dent. The rest of the truck is straight. I'm going to do a dirt cheap, diy restoration. Take it to some local car shows to show the kids that you don't need to spend 10s of thousands to have a good looking obs truck.

Keep it. I have a 1995 F150 XLT 4x4, SWB standard cab, 5 speed, with the 302. I love it more now than when I bought it in October 1995. So glad I never sold it or traded for something newer.

I'd paint it and keep it. I have two myself. A 95 Eddie Bauer in excellent condition. A couple small scratches and gave four for it last summer and a 93 xl that I've owned for twenty one years and am planning a complete going through as it needs paint and the front end , shocks, maybe springs. The secret to these OBS's is they both have a 300 six manual in them. The 93 at 140,000 and the 95 at 199,000 they will go anywhere practically and are good on gas in my opinion. Nice video by the way.

I totally agree!!...I just picked up a '91 short bed, 5.0....These are the trucks we admired when growing up, or our Dads had one, etc...Most of us are at the age to afford one and want to relive the good times/memories in these trucks, plus they just look great!!

Lol. I wish we still were in 2021. Right now, the market for these trucks is HOT!!! They get posted for sale and people show up at 5:30am offering more than the truck was listed for and they ask ZERO questions. Literally, in the last two years I have scheduled to go see trucks only to find "someone showed up and bought it no questions, no inspection." Sometimes people have paid nearly 50% over ask just to make the deal happen. The competition apparently doesn't give a crap about current problems, past problems, details about the truck --- You show up and argue, they show up & throw money at them and leave. These trucks are getting hotter by the minute and you shouldn't hesitate to get yours!
The luxury this guy is presenting in buying these trucks is long gone. They're a hot commodity, and you'll be the last to own one if you're difficult now! Right now, the more question the Worse! They have a line of people trying to buy them who don't GAS and want to make it their project. Your bargaining days are over unless you ARE REALLY REALLY PATIENT!

Good advice. I've been set on fire before by not asking questions. I have a '96 F150 XLT standard cab lwb 2wd 5.0/automatic. It has 199,962 miles. Uses no oil, has no leaks anywhere. Frame and body is solid. I put a new Kenwood sound system in it (door and cab speakers too). Looks great inside. Its my best friend. Fixing to put it in the shop and have a tune up, brakes, shocks and a lube job then have it painted. You can NOT beat a good Ford truck. They last for ever. KEEP IT!!!!......lol.

It’s absolutely the next fox body. I got a deal lined up with my little cousin to buy his 95 f150 single cab short bed with the 302 in it. He’s been driving it since he was 13 (they live in a rural area so nobody cares) and he’s approaching his senior year and wants a cooler car. This truck is far from perfect. There’s a bunch of leaks, the body has some dents and scratches. It’s been a work truck for his dad. There’s a misfire too. But little to no rust. No rust on the frame. The interior is OK. We made a deal on 3,000 dollars which I think is a good deal for both of us because I already know I’m going to sink some serious money into it (want to lower it and make it a clean street/show truck and build the engine), gonna swap a manual in it as well. He’s currently looking for another car so he can use the 3,000 for a down payment so he’s still driving it. But man I’m excited to get it. I’ve been wanting one ever since my dad sold his 93 back in 2004. But this one is way cooler than my dad’s old one.

I bought a 1994 F-150 XLT extra cab short bed 5.0 low mileage 136,000 mi on the odometer everything power windows air conditioner everything I paid $3,000 for this truck and the owner upfront with me and did tell me it was going to need shock towers in the front and a sending unit in one of the fuel and that was it, plus it has a rare color is rose gold almost looks like a copperish bread I've already been offered by several people to buy this truck from me of upwards of nearly $5,000 so now I'm going to finish and enjoy this truck and watch the value keep growing

Just picked up a 1995 Eddie Bauer edition in amazing shape. Previous owner put a new front tank which is usually the tank that fails. Shackles seem to be alright. Manual locking hubs. A bit of rust around fenders is manageable I may repair it. but the frame and box itself seems to be good I’m considering spraying the frame and box with Bedliner. Just a gorgeous truck overall. I may do the upgrade to the clear headlights mine seem to be in great shape however I might just try to clear them with some polish.

I don't keep up with the market on these trucks much but hearing you say this could be a $7-9K truck really makes me wonder what I could get for mine. I have a '96 F-250, 133K miles, XL, it's an extended cab with a long bed, 5.8L, 4x4. The interior is a 9/10 but the body isn't as nice as the one in this video. If I could get $8,500 for my truck, I'd probably let it go.

@@417fox Wow, that makes me very tempted to list mine. I only payed $4,100 for mine so selling it for maybe $8,500 would be a very small profit for me (I've owned it for a year and gas is not cheap) but the money would still be helpful.

Great motor and trans too but there’s a couple leaks. Been loving fixing and cleaning it up and replacing seals and spraying the underbody with woolwax. Mine is just like videos thumbnail, reg cab short bed electric currant red metallic.

I just got a 4x4 1990 5.0, only truck i could find at about 3k in good running driving shape. An obs in the same shape would have easily been 4500 ot 5k+, ive owned both and tbh they feel the same to me. So yea obs is gonna hold more value, but the gen before that is basically the same truck so if you need to save some cash there ya go. I was kinda annoyed with the guy i bought it from, in the pics you cant really see and i asked several times "is the bed rust free besides the little surface i can see, are the wheel wells good, and cab corners" he says they are all good, but there is bubbling in the wheel well and the cab corner is just starting on one side. I him down 500 tho

I paid 3k for it cuz it has a rebuilt title, but it was just hit in the drivers door like 13 years ago and the owner replaced the door and when I got it I just had to repaint it. It runs and reives perfect and it only needs a little cosmetic work. If the body was perfect I would put it bring a trailer and probally get at least 10k for it! I love it and I plan on driving the fuckout of it and maybe selling it later at a profit after I fix it completely!

These trucks are awesome, but I don’t understand why they’re preferred over the 80-86s. In my opinion they look better and they’re the last trucks with carbs. I sold my 93 f150 with 110k miles for $3k (big mistake) a couple years back to buy an ‘85 f150 351w HO. Other than all the plastic inside, I love the truck and it drives awesome with a new Holley 600cfm and has Ford’s best auto trans, the c6. That’s just my opinion tho.

On those 9th gen Ford F-series pickups, the F-150s & 5th gen Broncos were dropped in 1997 but the F-250 diesels, F-350s, & F-Heavy Dutys on the other hand stayed in production through that year. Same with the F-series medium duties which are those semi lookin trucks with that same cab design except they stayed in production up through 1999.

@@417fox lol. These trucks began ramping in price about 10 years ago when the Gen1 Broncos started getting silly money. An XLT like that would run you $15k in Boston or California. A clean low mileage truck would be $30k+. Look on eBay….$40k in Calypso ….soon Ford Tempos will be $20k. 😭

First thing first, quickly get rid of those crome fender arches. Every OBS I've ever had with them had rust. The ones without were 100% solid. You've got a little rust starting, but fix it and please leave those off.

I'm sure these OBS Fords will be popular among Ford guys but the square body and OBS Chevy's will probably rule the segment.

Point being, for flipping and 'investing', in general, I think GM C/K's are the better choice.

The obs Chevys already appraised and they are not increasing in value anymore. You are late to the party bro, the Ford obs trucks and dentsides are more valuable right now.

I bought a 95f150 regular cab long bed 4x4 168K no leaks ac cruise heat all works for 1800 dollars at a dealership as a trade in! so did you get a smokin deal? In my opinion no, but you seem like you got a good game plan!
