this is a very helpful viedo... I have now decided to just go to Pompii on my own!! I get nervous when i dont know what to expect videos like this really help; I say this as I am sitting in my Naples AirBNB trying to plan my next few days!
I take the time to thank you for posting this video, I had no difficulty finding the cirumvesuviana train,I also found a Vodafone shop and got a Sim for 10 euros, and you are right the train is pretty basic but it is easy and cheap plus you get to ride with the locals which is an experience in itself, also the views are stunning, people like you are godsend, your video was super helpful!
Thanks bro..i am from india though..my dream is to visit Naples because I haven't visit any big place..I hadn't went beyond 60km from my town ..so I want to go Naples when I will stand my own ...thanks for that information
Thanks, most informative! Quick question, can you buy tickets from a machine or do you have to go to the window? And cash only at the window I suppose?
When I went the train was super new and had blue chairs, but on the return and for the rest of the day we got a really old uncomfortable train. Guess I was just lucky!
In 2018, I saw a girl get her phone snagged right out of her hand on that train from Pompeii back to Naples, during one of the stops. The dude was out the door before anyone realized what happened. Watch your stuff closely, and be aware of your surroundings at all times.
If you prefer a secure and luxury way to reach the sorrento peninsula from Naples, you can use a private transfer. I suggets you Di Nocera Service (www.sorrentotransfer.com), their prices are good, and the service is excellent! This is the best way to go to Sorrento by far!
Parabéns pelo vídeo, lugar belo, porém os trens estão todos pixados e sucateados parecendo a linha Estação Da Luz , Francisco Morato em São Paulo no Brasil ....
I cannot remember if there are ticket machines - don't worry if you don't speak Italian as the ticket office staff are used to dealing with non Italian speakers.... enjoy your trip! AndyBTravels
Dear Italy: I love you, but please, for the love of God, will you do something about all the graffiti? Train windows and station name signs shouldn't be covered by this filth.
@@andybtravels2195 it's what people tend to say in the press etc. Like the Pacers in the north and old stock etc, but it is looking better as time goes on. Then italy don't clean their trains
You should consider that the quality standards of the Circumvesuviana don't actually represent the Italian ones. This line is in fact considered the worst one in Italy, so basically you'd find a better service anywhere else! :)

Laura - glad it was of use!!
Thank you so much for this, this has been far more valuable than most of the travel sites we've been looking at for navigating this sort of thing!
Way cool of you to make and post this video. Most appreciated!

My favourite part of Italy I’ve visited so far.

when you are there do not miss Puzzuoli with the solfatara by the metro to the end of the line
It's not metro is metropolitan service of national rail

It can be difficult to keep up with changes!!! Did you enjoy the ride?
AndyBTravels was amazing. Probably the best train I have been on in Europe.

Already subbed 😀👍
How often they go back and forth
OMG we got so lost here it tooks us a few hours and yes I do mean hours to figure this out.
Can you buy the return ticket at Pompeii Scavi, or do you need to buy your return ticket ahead of time?
Hi you can buy the ticket either in Naples or at Pompeii.... enjoy the ride!!!!
@@andybtravels2195 Thanks!
I've had 2 pickpocket attempts at this very station right before the ticket turnstile. Be very aware.

Always keep stuff inside backpack and keep your hands inside your pocket..no one will ever be able to take anything.

In circumvesuviana Do we buy tickets only at the ticket booth ? Or Is there ticket vending machine too ?

Train tickets in Italy are cheap
Buonagiornata
È Capri

British people: Britain has the worst trains in Europe
Italy:
UK has one of best systems in Europe... still needs some improvements but overall it is good.
