I live in linen in the summer! My favorite linen dress will sound so boring but it's beige or natural color and can do an all neutral outfit or act as a base for a pop of a bright color.
Summer dresses are the BEST! When it’s warm, nothing beats a dress. You look put together & you stay cool & comfortable. And dresses are sooo easy; it’s a one & done❤️
I love the first 3 everyday type dresses! They are so simple and great for every day. They would be so fun to accessorise with straw hats, pearls, straw bags, scarves, a light cardigan or flowy white shirt, and of course, sunglasses.
I bought a dress from Old Navy that is similar to the one you show from Banana Republic, with the cutouts in the same place, but it's a shirtdress with a deep v-neck and short sleeves. It is so flattering that I bought it in two colors! It's nice and cool too, 100%cotton. 😊
Oh yes a definite wow for those dresses. You look so lovely in them MarieAnne. My favourites are the ones with sleeves. I like to cover up a bit more at my age (76). Wedge heels are great too. My favourite has to be the red with big blue patten and longer sleeves.x
I love summer dresses , especially in linen , cotton , silk. Last fall I was in Provence and bought 4 summer dresses and this season I shopped here at home in the U S and got 5 more linen dresses . So I am ready!!!!! and I bought a few gorgeous belts for those dresses, plus some linen shirts, and pants in white and black +2 pairs of jeans plus a couple of cute T-shirts. Lol I am very bad this season. Thank you for the video. You are a such an elegant lady.❤😊
Forgive me for asking on here Marie-Anne but are you still doing a blog on your chateau renovations? Love he chambray dress, the white dress I would love to wear but unfortunately I have the bingo wings, the Karen Miller navy n white dress is very smart, like the J crew red dress
Summer dresses are my thing! I loved dress number 1 the most, very simple and flattering for everyday! Dress 11 is good too. Not crazy about cutouts for older women. I know they have to be strategically placed but still... The Winser London dress is beautiful... on you. I couldnt wear it, I would drown in it.
Loved all the dresses. I agree that it’s the easiest way to stay cool. Unfortunately in Vancouver we don’t have any shops anymore and I don’t online shop. I want to feel a fabric before I buy it and see the fitting. Time for a trip.
Marie-Anne, these dresses are lovely and the accessory you pair with each are perfect. I want to add another opinion about tanning. Since every pigment shade is beautiful we can avoid tanning by picking colors that highlight our pigmentation. It is also removes our desire to tan since it is bad for all pigment shades.
I agree! I just go with my natural, pale skin, but people try to make me ashamed because I’m not “tan”. There’s a reason I don’t tan, skin cancer is rife in my family history! Nor do I think it’s aesthetically necessary or even desirable at all, we don’t expect darker skinned people to lighten theirs to some arbitrary “perfect” shade.🙂
@@kimberlyperrotis8962 Fyi, niacinamide is recommended as a skin cancer preventative. 🙋🏻♀️ I've used 35% hydrogen peroxide with a toothpick to burn off a suspicious skin lesion or two because the wait to see the dermatologist was three months!!! I've also used Lugol's iodine 2% (needs too be applied often) or a paste of bentonite clay left on till gone. You may need a new paste every day. These have worked for me. Milk of magnesia might work too!!
Love the chambray dress, wish l was able to wear shoes like the ones shown. But had surgery on my ankle and it is fused . Flats or small heel I can wear without fear of breaking the ankle. Do you wear a slip under your dresses? I love all your advise. Thank you from Colorado USA.
Bonne nuit Marie Anne 😀 2am here and am half asleep 😂 My favourites from your collection 1. Lilysilk navy silk (love silk, navy colour and minimalism) 2. Banana Republic white one. Perfect for hot 🔥 days 3. London Windsor red with dark flowers. Looks great on you. ❤ Now really - je doit me coucher 😊
I also have a denim dress that is very similar to the chambray one you showed. I like wearing it with a raffia belt, espadrille wedges and a straw handbag. ❤
Hi Marie-Anne, you are the best model for all these dresses and you picked good ones also. I shop most of the brands names you showed here and I never saw these dresses, so thank you.
Marie-Anne, I love the white dress with cut out near back. I bought a gorgeous Ginger and Smart dress of similar design. The red floral dress looks stunning on you. Reminds me of a Jolie Moi dress from Peter Lewis, London. Looks so cool, flowing and elegant.
Love love most dresses here, Marie Anne. So classic and feminine , no fuss, very lady like with great confidence. That is my favorite style. I love to wear dresses and skirts to work, all year round as I live in hot climate. They are the most comfortable clothing for office environment. Pick the right fit, right cut, they are professional and smart and feminine.
The navy LilySilk is my favorite. I like sleeveless. I have a maxi with the slit at the bottom. Very comfortable. The floral is perfect on a hot day. I am really loving the reds! The J Crew is very pretty. I am only 5 feet tall, so some of these dresses could swallow me up. Maybe with some tailoring though. Thank you for sharing! 💕 Dresses are so fun!
Yay! Summer time is dress time and linnen time! So what could be more perfect than a linnen dress. I especially love Boden because they offer many clothes in Petite sizing, great if you are 5'1 like me🎉 Especially during the last years I also like linnen and cotton dresses with longer sleeves for sun protection.
I love Boden clothes as well as I am 5"4 and small. But I had hit and miss purchasing them on line. Sometimes the small fits me well, sometimes, it is too tight on the chest or armholes, for both, I am small. I am still trying to figure out which size to buy for which cut. I wish there is a store here so I can just go and try. but I live in Houston, no Boden store here.
I love how you look in red! All the suggestions are nice even if I don’t like cut out dresses. I love the floral one even if I usually wear simple monocrome , making dress more rich with accessories as big collars . I suggest to look at Max Mara summer collections of dresses and for a minimalistic taste to Cos dresses, very nice too.
I loved the red & navy floral that was close to ankle and flowed beautifully . I find I look too matronly with below knee to mid-calf length. I wish you’d feature more ankle to maxi length summer dresses. Thank you for your content❤
Hi Marie-Anne, WOW, do you look absolutely fabulous. Love your red jacket. I definitely agree that linen is a must for any wardrobe. I myself have a number of linen items for my summer wardrobe. You look fantastic in tgat floral dress. Thanks for another brilliant video. Have a great weekend.
lots of ideas & information regarding footwear & bags.. i'm a size 18/20 UK, but have a good idea what to look for & how to accessorise x thank you again x
Sea salt have some wonderful simple linen dresses in gt colours teal and a wonderful bright blue input linen with short sleeves and a good length and price I reccommend
Marie-Anne: would you follow this video up with some chic, cover-up ideas for the sleeveless dresses you have shown? I can’t stay warm in a sleeveless dress due to air conditioning or cool weather. I understand the shrugs I used to wear are considered frumpy now. Other than the obvious things like a Jean jacket, any ideas? Thank you.
All the summer dresses 👗 look lovely on you. I have a denim dress and some other dresses for the summer which I will be taking when going on my holidays as they are ideal.
I like all these dresses, I also have the Lily Silk navy knit one, it’s the most comfortable dress ever! Thanks for all the great work you do for us, dear Marie-Anne!
Hi Marie Anne l am so glad I found your channel you are such a blessing to me.I am learning how to put outfits together better thank you so much .God bless you
Wonderful collection of dresses. My favorite is the white linen cut-out dress from Banana Republic. I also like the red Boden dress. You look marvelous in all the styles you modeled for us. I do have a few linen dresses for the summer and I recently ordered a blue and white striped flair dress from Talbots. I hope it fits! Thanks for your style inspiration as always.
what a great selection you found for us Marianne, thank you so much. I am not much of a dress wearer myself unless it is really hot or I am going somewhere posh. The first gingham dress is quite 'me' for everyday wear and possibly the last one - red with the broderie anglaise sleeves. But for a summer wedding or party I would go for the red floral one and suffer high heels with it till my feet were begging for mercy!
I have recently discovered Quince clothing. I bought a beautiful red dress, silk camisoles, linen trousers, and even cashmere. The quality is excellent and I really enjoy the silk. It feels like treating myself, but the prices are exceptionally good. I hope this is helpful. Oh, and returns are very easy.
I love them all , fits my size and height so perfect 🥰 You are so much a help to women to improve ourselves and i learned so much ! Thanks from Denmark 😘🌸
I love all of them with #4 being the best, I love the hat and sunglasses. I've always loved it when girls wear that style of hat, very elegant and classy, but sadly it's uncommon in the US nowadays. The sunglasses are super stylish and sophisticated and the beautiful dress perfectly completes the look.
Yes! I have great difficulty finding dresses for the summer. My criteria includes: slightly longer than midi-length in a natural fabric, short sleeves (I NEVER wear sleeveless as I don't like how my underarms stick together and I know my upper arms are not my best features) a full back (I need to wear a good support bra) and in a style that doesn't hug my belly (I have a tummy!!). In my closet I have only one summer dress - it met my criteria - it's a long sand coloured linen shirt-style dress. I'm not sure the colour is right for me, but I have received compliments when I've worn it. I usually accessorize with a two-toned brown and natural straw bag that has brown leather handles, and simple brown slides - or my beige and black flat Chanel-style sling-back sandals and a black handbag. I would LOVE to have a selection of dresses to wear for summer, but I've given up my search, which has lasted years. Your video, Marie-Anne has wonderful dress ideas, but sadly I don't see myself wearing most of them.
The Talbots dress fits my body type* so well compared to the fit & flare. It’s no coincidence that Talbots is one of my favorite brands. I always look for them at the thrift shop. *Kibbe “classic” type and rectangular shape.

All the dresses are very nice. I especially liked the 9th one with small print of flowers. Because I'm blonde, I think red doesn't suits me as well as it does you.

Marie-Anne I swear I think you could make a sheet look chic. You look great in everything!❤
Love the fit and flare look.
I lived in the tropics for many years, and dresses and skirts are the coolest thing in hot weather! I am inspired to get back into that mode.
I love all the dresses, but that red dress from Boden is just exceptionally beautiful Marie Anne!
Thanks for continuing to teach us!

May you show us some nice shift dresses for us full figured? I loved last years list.

I rather like the cutouts, but at 63, and with my not-very-attractive torso skin (keratoses), I wouldn’t wear that particular dress.
Beautiful blazer you are wearing - perfect colour for you complemented by your lipstick and earrings !
I love all of the dresses, but especially the #9 floral!! Trés Chic!!
Perfect choice of summer dresses ! Great selection 👍👍

Lovely dresses. My favorite is the Navy/white Karen Milen dress.
