William Wallinder just won the award for best U20 player in the SHL. Crazy to think he’s probably 3rd on the list of NHL eta for our defensive prospects.
Well better hope so before the World Juniors got canceled he played 1 exhibition game let in 2 soft goals then at the start at the tournament he didn't make backup
Pontus Andreasson has been stellar as well. If Edvidsson, Berggren and possibly Soderblom and Andreasson make the Wings next season what you guys think Detroit's line-up could look like next season? Bertuzzi Larkin Raymond Vrana Andreasson? Berggren Fabbri Suter Zadina Rasmussen Veleno Sundqvist -------------------------------------------------- Gagner?, Stephens, Erne Edvidsson Seider Walman Hronek Staal Lindstrom Oesterle Nedeljkovic Hellberg I could see Yzerman trading Suter, Sundqvist and possibly Fabbri, ect, if the Wings don't make the playoffs next season, after the deadline I expect Soderblom and Andreasson to make the Wings.
You are too high on Pontus. He just starts playing in the top league of Sweden at age 23. He is more projected to be a top 9 player. Maybe he will start in the AHL. Fabbri is out injured. It is not easy to find a trade partner. And sundqvist just came in and it doesn’t bode well if you trade a player you just acquired. Suter has been quite solid as 3C.
Pontus probably won’t be a top 6 player. I’d compare him to more of a middle 6 guy like Berggren. I think You’ll see Edvinsson start out on the 2nd pair at least until he gets comfortable at the NHL level. As great as Seider is, I wouldn’t want to put unnecessary pressure on him of asking him to mentor a rookie when he’s still a rookie right now. I think our top line will be the same, but it wouldn’t shock me if Bertuzzi still gets moved either this off-season or at next years deadline. That would open up the opportunity for Vrana to be on the top line full time. Berggren will probably be slotted on the 3rd line, but will get shift opportunities on the 2nd as well. It’s honestly hard to put together a full lineup estimation when we’re likely to see a few new faces starting next year.
@@sueyu3603 Ras has played very well since about the halfway mark of the season. No reason to move him when he’s starting to really come into his own as a solid bottom 6 player. He’s probably been the biggest surprise lately.
DYLAN: Number 16 proved the Russians could play in this league. He took no shit from anyone. The NHL at that time hated the Russians. He learned he had to be a dirty player to survive (although he hardly fought). Out of the Russian 5 he was my favorite. His Jersey should be retired by the Wings.
@@johngwozdz8456 he played like that when he was in Russia - that is just how he played . If you ever watch the famous 87 world junior - the Punch up in Piastany - it was a very vicious game before the brawl broke out - Konstantinov was right in the middle of all of it . Ironically - two guys who instigators in that brawl - Shanahan for Canada - Konstantinov for Russia - went on to be Major players for the redwings 10 years later
In the next 3 years the things I'm hoping to notice is that this team becomes harder and harder to play against no matter who they play. Night in night out. That is the definition of Red Wings hockey and the formula to how they won cups. When you see them roll 4 lines at someone and their all defensively effective and offensively dangerous. These are signs. When that trait starts to appear regularly with this team, then we can start talking playoffs and cups again... out
10M under the cap. Only Copp and Chiarot under contract for more than 2 years. One more year of dead cap at 3M then in down for 500K. Look at the prospects! Look at the players Stevie signed. This team is ready for the rebuild to come together. They will be better this year. It may yet be another year of no playoffs. But I tell ya, players on other teams are seeing this and wanting to come to the Wings and play. They know a good situation when they see it and they see it with the Wings.
Mr. Darren McCarty is the ONLY reason I even take the time to watch any of this Woodward stuff. The rest of the "fellas" are like the rest of the DRW defense Mac is talking about. There are NO Mo Seider or an effective veteran who has played 500 games. Olympia Entertainment needs to rethink the rest of these guys ...who CANNOT SPEAK ENGLISH CLEARLY as well as give feedback that is not inane and insane...

I compare Edvinsson to Oliver Ekman-Larsson, not Hedman.
Hedman comparisons are too lofty for Simon.
Seider also drew the Hedman comparison before his draft. I’d say his game is a closer resemblance, but he’s really got his own thing going on.
