      The pronunciation of "Tvorchi" should be not with "k" at the end but with "ch" . Like the first sound in the word "chicken" (sorry for this word, it's first what came to my mind). Also "tvorchi" from Ukrainian means artistic creative people. Just thought that would be great to share it :)

    We in Ukraine are a bit tired with folk music performing again in Eurovision. Also Tvorchi weren't one of my favourites, but their live performance was excellent. So I'm glad they're going to represent my country. It's a big plus that they are singing about what's happening here in Ukraine but not in a direct way. Fighting war and having nuclear threat on our boarders, nevertheless staying strong no matter what.

      @@Strongpoint_S we didn’t want folkish song, but just something good that represents us well regardless of genre. All 1st, 2nd and 3rd are good for this mission. Even though I voted for Jerry Heil, I think Tvorchi’s song is a nice way to show the other side of Ukrainian culture, more contemporary and western

    • @Strongpoint_S
      @Strongpoint_S Год назад +1

      @@andreosokil It isn't a side of Ukrainian culture. There is nothing Ukrainian in it apart from the citizenship of the artists. It is a global musical mass product. All I see here is a budget version of Lil Nas X. It is not like Eurovision doesn't see a fair share of budget versions of popular singers, A LOT of entries are exactly that each year. In this sense, it is a very Eurovision song
      It is a professionally made pop song, something good for a radio background but there is nothing unique or worthy of sharing with the world.
      And again, don't say we. "Folkish songs", together, got way more than Tvorchi. Their victory is a quirk of the voting system when you can't send an SMS for several performers like in the past years.

    TVORCHI is a very talented Ukrainian band. In Ukraine, we listen not only to folk... this song has a very powerful message, it is inspired by the defenders of Azovstal, who, despite the blockade and constant shelling, kept in touch, recorded videos for Ukrainians and inspired us all. The performance also hints at a nuclear threat. The guys seem to say, "such a weapon in the hands of a fool is dangerous for the whole world", and as for the dark motive - we are all people of steel in Ukraine now (pain, tears, strength, power and rage). This song fully conveys my emotions and values)

    Only the last 2 representatives at Eurovision had songs with folk music masterfully merged with electronic (Go-A) or rap (Kalush), and of all other years, only Ruslana (2004) and Verka (2007) had Ukrainian ethnic elements. The rest of Ukraine's entries were very different but had NO Ukrainian folk elements, but for some reason, most Eurovision fans say, that Ukraine usually sends ethnic songs. A mystery! :) The only thing about Ukraine at Eurovision is always true: Ukraine is unpredictable and sends very different songs with great staging.

    The show was broadcast from the underground station not only because of a possible air raid but also because of rolling blackouts here. So thank you, folks, for telling that you liked our show. Imagine shooting a show in a situation when you have no electricity. So this theme of darkness that you see in the performance of Tvorchi is an allusion to that. The song itself is very interesting in terms of double and even triple meanings. You might think it's so simple and on the surface, you might think the song is about relationships or split-up but then the video message behind the frontman reveals a bit more and you're able to decode a bit more. Tvorchi said the song is about Azovstal, the steel factory which was heroically defended by the regiment "Azov". Those militaries were trapped inside the factory, fighting and not being eager to surrender. It was an awful siege where people were under constant shelling with a limited supply of water, food and there were a lot of wounded militaries who urgently needed medical aid. Remember, Oleh from Kalush Orchestra shouted "Save Azovstal, help Mariupol" at the Eurovision stage risking being disqualified for that message? It was about them. Then there was the decision by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to save the lives of those military and they were ordered to accept the captivity. And that was one more tragedy cause some military never returned from that captivity. russians tortured, castrated and killed some of them. A lot of them were released though. So the video is full of allusions to that story, when, for example, the frontman Jeffery is like Jesus on the cross, it's a story of a sacrifice to save others. There's also an allusion to constant russian nuclear threat and Ukrainians mocking at it. And then some lyrics about the middle finger makes a bit different sense, right? I also think it's the message to Europe not to be scared, you know what I mean, cause Ukrainians are not scared.

    • @official_rown
      @official_rown Год назад

      A lot of analysis for a song that's only about overcoming difficulty (and naysayers) with confidence and "a heart of steel". While TVORCHI may have considered those things as a basis for their conveyed emotions, there's nothing in the song that explicitly mentions them so it can't easily be inferred. (the lyrics were probably altered by themselves in post-production to prevent disqualification from Eurovision based on political messages) I believe you on the video, though, because I can't read or understand Ukrainian.

    • @ivanai8854
      @ivanai8854 Год назад +2

      @@official_rown this deeper subtext is real. Ukrainians read these additional meanings very easily, because they follow the news every day. I think that it will be difficult for Europeans to feel this song as deeply, but these are the problems of solidarity with Ukrainians and Europeans need to make a little more effort for this.

    I personally voted for them because I wanted Ukraine to be seen from a different perspective. Because Ukraine is not only an ethnicity. There are a lot of stylish people in Ukraine. And it is very versatile country.
    It was the most unusual selection for me. In Kyiv, where I live, the lights are turned off every day 2-3 times for 3-5 hours. And at 19.00 Ukrainian time we started watching the selection. And we understood that soon the light could be turn off. And the whole selection we were in a hurry and skipped all unnecessary chatter. It was like "omg, STOP TALKING, I want to hear all the songs and have time to vote". And I managed to vote AND THEY TURNED OFF THE LIGHTS. And I did not know who won, because the mobile connection completely disappeared. How cruel hahaha.
    And when the lights were turned on and I saw that TVORCHI won, I was very happy) I am sure they will create an incredible stage in Liverpool ❤

    Thank you for the review on national selection, but Tvorchi (translated as Creative) should be pronounced as it is written in English - 'ch' /ʧ/ (like in words "church" or "chair").

    This is a great choice for Ukraine but I do agree with you William that Jerry should have won. BTW I have predicted the winner for the last 17 years correctly and I think Jerry would had definitely had more chance of winning.

    kinda surprised that they went with something different and more mainstream. hopefully this could actually be performed at Eurovision because the last time it actually happened was in 2018.

    I'm sorry, I tried, but I can't see the appeal of this song. Ukraine had so many Eurovision-winning entries, but this wasn't one of them. They have made themselves lose Eurovision unless it is to pity and I am the biggest Ukraine fan (if it were up to me, they'd win every year).

    The song is a grower. Hearing it again now it feels very familiar. Maybe the key is they wont need to qualify, so they could break with the traditions.

    Wish it was Jerry Heil but Tvorchi will be an interesting change, just think that Ukraine have such a interesting and beautiful point of view and are at there best when it reflects their folk side! They themselves are whys good about the song, but the song itself is meh and will probably get overpowered by other songs

  • @ukrainian_who

    TVORCHI means “artistic or creative”. The “ch” should be pronounced as “ch” in “chair”, not like “k”. I voted for Jerry Heil, but Tvorchi is a great choice as well. I did not root for Krut because I don’t want people to see Ukraine as the victim. We will win the war, and everyone will see us for what we are: brave, unstoppable, with hearts of steel💛💙

  • @БогданаСливінська-у7щ

    Thanks for your reaction only PLEASE ch - sounds as in most words in English not k.😊😬
