I love your videos and I still feel sad you guys never made a 2022 crimes video ☹️
But I'm glad the new season has begun!
The pronunciation of "Tvorchi" should be not with "k" at the end but with "ch" . Like the first sound in the word "chicken" (sorry for this word, it's first what came to my mind). Also "tvorchi" from Ukrainian means artistic creative people. Just thought that would be great to share it :)
My friends from Ukraine who voted for Tvorchi said they just wanted something different this year. They wanted to show a different side of Ukraine - contemporary and diverse. I totally respect that. Good luck, Tvorchi!
I’m Ukrainian and it’s true. I voted for Tvorchi also because of that
Yep, that's true
I'm Ukrainian, and I totally agree!
Yeah well many non Ukrainian eurovision fans are fans of Ukraine entries for their unique culture, they can get that generic sound from any country, its not even good generic, its basic and mediocre.
And yet We choose who we as a nation want to represent us as a country on an international music contest, isn't that also true? This year we feel the vibe of "Tvorchi" 😁 And obviously, when people want to listen to music from different countries, they do not have to wait for eurovision to have permission to do so after all.
@@olesia9047 You are a minority so don't speak for the nation. Sadly, this year, good, original songs competed with each other for votes and we got this mediocrity that will get 15th-25th and will be forgotten as hundreds of other boring mediocre songs.
We in Ukraine are a bit tired with folk music performing again in Eurovision. Also Tvorchi weren't one of my favourites, but their live performance was excellent. So I'm glad they're going to represent my country. It's a big plus that they are singing about what's happening here in Ukraine but not in a direct way. Fighting war and having nuclear threat on our boarders, nevertheless staying strong no matter what.
Thank you for sharing this perspective!
@@Wiwibloggs 2nd, 3rd, and 4th songs are somewhat similar and they kinda stole the "electorate" from each other. The majority of Ukrainians still wanted folk(ish) music but there were too many folk performers and votes got split between them.
I, as a Ukrainian, am dissapointed. I think this song is... not bad... even high quality. But too generic and forgettable. I'll be glad to be mistaken
@@Strongpoint_S we didn’t want folkish song, but just something good that represents us well regardless of genre. All 1st, 2nd and 3rd are good for this mission. Even though I voted for Jerry Heil, I think Tvorchi’s song is a nice way to show the other side of Ukrainian culture, more contemporary and western
@@andreosokil It isn't a side of Ukrainian culture. There is nothing Ukrainian in it apart from the citizenship of the artists. It is a global musical mass product. All I see here is a budget version of Lil Nas X. It is not like Eurovision doesn't see a fair share of budget versions of popular singers, A LOT of entries are exactly that each year. In this sense, it is a very Eurovision song
It is a professionally made pop song, something good for a radio background but there is nothing unique or worthy of sharing with the world.
And again, don't say we. "Folkish songs", together, got way more than Tvorchi. Their victory is a quirk of the voting system when you can't send an SMS for several performers like in the past years.
@@Strongpoint_S I saw a poll where most of Ukrainians (including those who supported other candidates in Vidbir) accepted Tvorchi as a winner
Their name is pronounced as TvorCHi,Ch like Chocolate and Check. It means "Creative people " in Ukrainian language. Thanks for support 💙💛 i love your reactions
TVORCHI is a very talented Ukrainian band. In Ukraine, we listen not only to folk... this song has a very powerful message, it is inspired by the defenders of Azovstal, who, despite the blockade and constant shelling, kept in touch, recorded videos for Ukrainians and inspired us all. The performance also hints at a nuclear threat. The guys seem to say, "such a weapon in the hands of a fool is dangerous for the whole world", and as for the dark motive - we are all people of steel in Ukraine now (pain, tears, strength, power and rage). This song fully conveys my emotions and values)
Thank you for explaining this. Wow. What a beautiful message!
Fun fact: This week Kalush and Krut has announced that they are going to release a song together.
a stage inside a shelter was 10x better than turin
'Tvorchi' should be pronounced with 'ch' like in 'child'. 'Tvorchi' is a transliteration of the Ukrainian word 'творчі', which means 'the creative ones'.
I saw the show live through RUclips and commented with my boyfriend that despite what's going on, they were able to put on a better show than most national selections. The resilience of the Ukrainian people is amazing 👏
Slava Ukraini!!! Big hugs from PT 🇵🇹❤🇺🇦
Thank you so much!!! 🇺🇦❤🇵🇹
Muito obrigado! Suas palavras significam muito para os ucranianos.

💙💛Под абстрелами и в укрытии. Спасибо вам за эти слова.
The guy's voice is VERY soulful. We need more soul and darkness at Eurovision. Ironically, the lyrics are QUITE positive!
His voice is beautiful 🤩
Absolutely love the song very different for Ukraine The staging was great brilliant the way it was in a bunker. Congrats to Ukraine for putting on this show ☮️❤️
What does completely different mean? Ukraine is multifaceted and unpredictable. Obviously, you are not familiar with the history of Ukraine's performance at Eurovision.
The audience vote breakdown was decently close compared to previous years:
1. Tvorchi - 54,041
2. Jerry Heil - 45,657
3. Krutь - 33,614
4. Fiinka -11,109
Everyone else was between 2,400 - 5,400
Guys, as I’m watching this, just wanna hug you and say the biggest THANK UUU for your support! I’m surprised you know about the transformation I’ve been through 💙💛 sending love! Slava Ukraïni!
It's good you didn't win. put pressure on pity - so in Ukrainian
Only the last 2 representatives at Eurovision had songs with folk music masterfully merged with electronic (Go-A) or rap (Kalush), and of all other years, only Ruslana (2004) and Verka (2007) had Ukrainian ethnic elements. The rest of Ukraine's entries were very different but had NO Ukrainian folk elements, but for some reason, most Eurovision fans say, that Ukraine usually sends ethnic songs. A mystery! :) The only thing about Ukraine at Eurovision is always true: Ukraine is unpredictable and sends very different songs with great staging.
Well, I disagree. Our 2016 or 2006 or 2012 entry had more ethnic elements than 2007. But those are still minor, tho.
It’s just because we were very impressive in the last two years 😏
Verka had also folk elements
Jamala had Crimean Tatar folk elements, which fits into the trend, I think)

The show was broadcast from the underground station not only because of a possible air raid but also because of rolling blackouts here. So thank you, folks, for telling that you liked our show. Imagine shooting a show in a situation when you have no electricity. So this theme of darkness that you see in the performance of Tvorchi is an allusion to that. The song itself is very interesting in terms of double and even triple meanings. You might think it's so simple and on the surface, you might think the song is about relationships or split-up but then the video message behind the frontman reveals a bit more and you're able to decode a bit more. Tvorchi said the song is about Azovstal, the steel factory which was heroically defended by the regiment "Azov". Those militaries were trapped inside the factory, fighting and not being eager to surrender. It was an awful siege where people were under constant shelling with a limited supply of water, food and there were a lot of wounded militaries who urgently needed medical aid. Remember, Oleh from Kalush Orchestra shouted "Save Azovstal, help Mariupol" at the Eurovision stage risking being disqualified for that message? It was about them. Then there was the decision by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to save the lives of those military and they were ordered to accept the captivity. And that was one more tragedy cause some military never returned from that captivity. russians tortured, castrated and killed some of them. A lot of them were released though. So the video is full of allusions to that story, when, for example, the frontman Jeffery is like Jesus on the cross, it's a story of a sacrifice to save others. There's also an allusion to constant russian nuclear threat and Ukrainians mocking at it. And then some lyrics about the middle finger makes a bit different sense, right? I also think it's the message to Europe not to be scared, you know what I mean, cause Ukrainians are not scared.
A lot of analysis for a song that's only about overcoming difficulty (and naysayers) with confidence and "a heart of steel". While TVORCHI may have considered those things as a basis for their conveyed emotions, there's nothing in the song that explicitly mentions them so it can't easily be inferred. (the lyrics were probably altered by themselves in post-production to prevent disqualification from Eurovision based on political messages) I believe you on the video, though, because I can't read or understand Ukrainian.
@@official_rown this deeper subtext is real. Ukrainians read these additional meanings very easily, because they follow the news every day. I think that it will be difficult for Europeans to feel this song as deeply, but these are the problems of solidarity with Ukrainians and Europeans need to make a little more effort for this.
Очень правильный и чёткий комментарий об этой песне.Лучший.
The winner's name is pronunced with CH (like Cheese, CHocolade, CHicken)). It's meens "The creative" in Ukrainian.
Thank you for your attention to the selection of Ukraine💙💛. We are glad that you are satisfied. See you in Liverpool✈. With love OGAE Ukraine😘
My God. I'm in love with your emotions ~ U are incredible two. Thank you so much, that watching our Vidbir and sharing your filings about it. Send you love from Ukraine ~💙💛
About Tvorchi, they weren't my favorite one song. But staging really make everything and elevate them at 1st place. Moreover, Guys totally know what to say. They really amazing one representation of our country. And now, I Really waiting for Eurovision 2023, to see their staging up there.
It was an amazing show! Surprise result but I like the song a lot. Get well soon William! ❤
Vidbir can get quite unpredictable sometimes, often involving drama, scandals etc. But it only shows that we really care about it. Even last year when the situation on the borders was threatening, the only thing people were talking is another scandal in Vidbir and who will represent Ukraine in Eurovision
Thanks for your reaction guys 😇
I personally voted for them because I wanted Ukraine to be seen from a different perspective. Because Ukraine is not only an ethnicity. There are a lot of stylish people in Ukraine. And it is very versatile country.
It was the most unusual selection for me. In Kyiv, where I live, the lights are turned off every day 2-3 times for 3-5 hours. And at 19.00 Ukrainian time we started watching the selection. And we understood that soon the light could be turn off. And the whole selection we were in a hurry and skipped all unnecessary chatter. It was like "omg, STOP TALKING, I want to hear all the songs and have time to vote". And I managed to vote AND THEY TURNED OFF THE LIGHTS. And I did not know who won, because the mobile connection completely disappeared. How cruel hahaha.
And when the lights were turned on and I saw that TVORCHI won, I was very happy) I am sure they will create an incredible stage in Liverpool ❤
what a thriller that was!
Your reaction is a deep dive into our contest, thanks for your job! Hugs from Ukraine 🇺🇦❤️
‘ch’ sounds like ‘ch’ in ‘cheese’)))Tvorchi means creative (in plural) in Ukrainian))
Creatives 😊
I’m very happy with the choice. Tvorchi are great and their song is amazing
thank you for your supporting. Love from Kyiv/Ukraine💙💛
In "Tvorchi ("Creative" in Ukrainian) ch is pronounced like in "church".
Not "creative", but "creatives" 😉
Thank you guys for both, constructive criticism and emotional support while commenting Vidbir! And that you make into account all the difficulties that Ukraine goes through right now. TVORCHI will surprise you even more, stay tuned!
I suppose you notice the sound of train at the background. I think the Vidbir was held in a subway. Despite this, I think it was fabulous.
Yes, it took place in the subway at a depth of 90 meters.
Guys, thank you for your reaction. Ukrainians did really a good job 👏🏻💙💛
TvorCHI guys, not Tvorki ) it's means Creative. Love u 💜
Thanks for your reaction! Brilliant as usual!
The pronunciation is TVORCH[tʃ]I (like in child) means creative in Ukrainian.
Firstly massive congratulations to the production team for putting on such a great show under difficult circumstances. The result was a happy surprise. I liked Tvorchi on 1st listening but I didn't see much of a buzz surrounding it. I hoped that they'd send something with attitude, not wanting the world to feel sorry for them, and that's what we've got. The powerful visuals really sold the song as well.
Finally something modern from Ukraine! A slightly major revamp is what the song needs for an improvement and they'd better keep the staging from Vidbir for the big stage. I'm totally vibing with the song. I'd give it an 8.5/10 just 'cause the chorus lacks a bit of power and push as of now. P.S. The staging has very striking visuals and I'm obsessed with it.
@@Anya33 Go_A it's more ethno than Tvorchi. I just think Ukraine needs to take a risk with something different like Tvorchi. Ukraine shouldn't be associated with traditional music and elements all the time. 😄
Most of our entries are not ethno, come on! 😭
Hi you guys from Ukraine!❤ Thank you for this video. Thank you for your kind words and support.❤As for the Eurovision Song Contest, I only watched it once, when Verka Serdiutchka was there. All the other years the contest is of no interest to me. But I heard these guys "Tvorchi" I thought wow, that's a cool sound. In these difficult times, one wants something fresh, something not "about hard times" or war. Cool sound, cool song. And I think it may not be a winning song, but it's definitely a very worthy representative in the European competition. Hugs to you guys.
Guys, “The bandura queen” and Kalush released a song together few days before the National selections. Enjoy 😉
Thank you for your support and for the way you DO pay attention to the Ukrainian context🇺🇦❤
Finally, something new, without folklore notes!!! I'll add something to the playlist ❤️❤️❤️❤️ (i’m from Ukraine)
That's the second time Ukraine sends the person of African origin to represent the country on Eurovision. The first one was Gaytana and she had weak song though on the selection there were stronger songs, for example Max Barskih - Dance
I didn't choose them because of the African origin. I chose them because I love the band, and their live performance was top notch, especially when compared to Krut's one. And I didn't really like Jerry Hail's song, and there were really no other good candidates.
The show was held in a bomb shelter 90 meters underground, the electricity was powered by diesel generators, because russia bombed all the power plants in Ukraine
I knew from the very start it would be either Tvorchi or Krut. And I was right ) Tvorchi isn't my kind of music, but they always bring a very strong performance. And Krut always gives a touch of magic. My personal favorite is Oy Sound System, though. I know the song isn't for everyone, but I love it and I'd like it to be even longer)) If you want to listen something similar check the band Motanka (the song to start with is Oy ty moya Zemle). It's metal but it's the same vibe.
The staging from Tvorchi was the best. The song is okay for me but it's not bad. Very curious what they gonna do. I loved the flag in the background at the end of the song. Get well soon William❣💖
I wish you to recover as soon as possible! Regarding the performances, I voted for Krut, completely agreeing with regarding the stage performance. I didn't have enough hope, the tenderness and magic of the music and the voice was completely lost, a break appeared, and it was not quite something that would suit a lullaby. In my opinion. But I still voted for her, I thought that the performance would be different for the contest itself and that would be the focus. Well, maybe those changes played a role in the result. The winners are also good, the majority of the audience chose this way, so I wish them a great performance.
I apologize for the mistakes, I used Google Translate🙈
Greetings from Ukraine! Thank you for your review and words of support for Ukraine. Hearts of steel is now really about every Ukrainian and our defenders. This performance has many allusions to war and the nuclear threat.
Україна голосує за кращий номер. І не завжди це етніка. Минулого року я голосувала за Калуш. Вчора за Творчі 💙💛🎉👍
Anyway they don’t need to fight for qualification so they can play around as much as they want, and make Ukrainian way bam bam surprise and choose something different. The only thing I miss Ukrainian language in the song
William take care and get better soon !! 🧉💙
thank you!!!!
I'm glad we chose Tvorchi. Eurovision for Ukraine has always been not a competition, but a way to show our modern culture to foreigners. So it doesn't really matter what place they will take, I just hope they find new fans.
Kruť reflects the music that is being listened to in Ukraine now. But if we sent someone with a strong message like hers, people would vote for us again and it would turn into drama again. The least we need right now is to be hated for a song.
Ironically enough it's happening either way because our people are like "jErRY wAs bEtTeR" or Krut' or whoever else. So we can't avoid drama anyhow 😁
Thanks for this great video. Be healthy and do not get sick♥
They were my favourites from the start but did not expect them to win at all. And the Ukrainian people clearly wanted them to go as they won the televote by almost 9k votes over Jerry
Didn’t have to bring Jerry up but okay
BITI ZDRAVA GIRL I LOOOVE YOU CINAN
Thank you for your support ❤️ despite the terrible war, we here in Ukraine want to live fully and create something new, cool, show the world different sides of our culture) that is why, I think, we chose a slightly different style of song this year)
Tvorchi (Творчі - Creative) is not Tvorki :) Thanks guys for your reaction, as always. William, wish you soon be healthy
The song is very middle in my opinion, very Belgium 2022
But that selection was very well produced
first reaction is I want this theme unfolded. in the end of the song you expect more, but probably the power comes when you say wthat you think in a calm way.
Public winners. I'm happy 😊
Not /tvorki/, but /tvorCHi/ (as CH in CHoose). It means “creatives” in Ukrainian
The 'ch' in Tvorchi is pronounced like 'ch' in 'choose', not 'k'. It's literaly translated as 'creative' (plural).
Amazing video
I agree with William, the song is very bland (In my opinion) but the staging was honestly the best... So, for me its 50/50. However good luck, from Venezuela!
Ukraine 🇺🇦 loved this just really loved this song absolutely 💯
Tvorchi is pronounced with CHI, like in "Cheese", not Tvorki) "Tvorchi" translated from UA to EN means "creative, artistic(in plural form)," it's an adjective
Thank you for the review on national selection, but Tvorchi (translated as Creative) should be pronounced as it is written in English - 'ch' /ʧ/ (like in words "church" or "chair").
I never cared for Eurovision before, but it sort of helps me take my mind off of things this year. Thanks for your reaction and support ❤
Fun fact: 3 vidbirs in one year (with the jesc one)
This is a great choice for Ukraine but I do agree with you William that Jerry should have won. BTW I have predicted the winner for the last 17 years correctly and I think Jerry would had definitely had more chance of winning.
BTW I loved Greece in 2015 and I'm glad it won but I just really thought Romania would win. Let me try was just so good.
Definitely
Lmao everyone spamming about Ukraine only sending folk, have you even heard your past entries? Just bc you sent folk ELEMENTS for the past two years doesn’t make that the only thing you send lmao but go off
Can recommend Alika - Bridges (Estonia) a possible winner not only in the nf but esc itself
kinda surprised that they went with something different and more mainstream. hopefully this could actually be performed at Eurovision because the last time it actually happened was in 2018.
Obviously, you are not familiar with the history of Ukraine's performance at Eurovision. Ukraine is multifaceted and unpredictable.
What do you mean in “the last time it actually happened was in 2018”?
We really are proud, thank you^^ Kinda unexpected choice, but hey it's time for us to send a generic pop song, other countries been doing that for decades :D
p.s. it's pronounced "tvor-tshi" :) Hope you recover soon, William!
Jamala mean that Fiinka's song style like Stefania, she is not meant Kalush Orchestra...
It is pronounced [tvorchi] not [tvorki]. In Ukrainian it means "creative".
Доброго ранку
Дякую за відео
Цікаво
Guys, Ukraine sent ethno to the contest ONLY TWICE - 2020/1 and 2022. Why everyone is so surprised with this choice?
I prefer their 2020 entry. Bonfire
People do not hurry. Vidbir winners are not the ones that goes to Eurovision always.
I'm sorry, I tried, but I can't see the appeal of this song. Ukraine had so many Eurovision-winning entries, but this wasn't one of them. They have made themselves lose Eurovision unless it is to pity and I am the biggest Ukraine fan (if it were up to me, they'd win every year).
Відрір проводився в метро-подивимось як це буде при світлі
I’ve voted for Krutb. She was incredible.
But after Tvorchi’s performance, I be change personal winner.
My top-3
1. Tvorchi
2. Krutb
3. Jerry Heil
4. OY sound system.
The name of the band should be spelled with ch inside like in the word cherry :)
it's not [tvorki] ❤️
So, "Tvorchi" means "creative" 🌞
We need your reactions to the Benidorm Fest 2023 entries ASAP
❤️🖤🇺🇦 heart of steel

The show aside for a sec, did William graduate from Harvard because I see a Harvard diploma behind xD?
Yes he's a Harvard graduate indeed!
The song is a grower. Hearing it again now it feels very familiar. Maybe the key is they wont need to qualify, so they could break with the traditions.
"ch" in Tvorchi reads like "ch" in chicken
I am just hoping they will rewamp that song...I like the song but something is missing
I don't usually cry for a revamp, but they need to fix that hi-hat sound. It drags the whole production down for me. Otherwise it's not a bad song at all.
This was not my pick. But i appreciate its not folk this year. Their staging was still amazing even though it was small (copy/paste to Liverpool!). The song is still average to me.
Thank you so much. Excellent review. Special thanks for understanding the situation in Ukraine and for not being afraid to talk about it. This support means a lot to Ukrainians. She is very important. Thanks a lot!
The first variant of pronounciation was right - not (tvorki), but (tvort$i)
TVORCHI or TVORKI???? Exactly 💅 , TVORKI 💅🌟☢
I liked it a lot. Still calling them like that ❤😈
TVORCHI r my favorites for several years. I do agree that we decided to not go with folk song again. I voted for TVORCHI
Don't speak "tvorKi", Tvorchi-(ch) -children, champion
They not tvorki, correct TVORCHI (UA:Creative) like CHeese 🧀😅
Not a fan but hey it’s not my country so i don’t care if they suck at Eurovision
Мої щирі вітання з України
💙💛
Wish it was Jerry Heil but Tvorchi will be an interesting change, just think that Ukraine have such a interesting and beautiful point of view and are at there best when it reflects their folk side! They themselves are whys good about the song, but the song itself is meh and will probably get overpowered by other songs
TVORCHI means “artistic or creative”. The “ch” should be pronounced as “ch” in “chair”, not like “k”. I voted for Jerry Heil, but Tvorchi is a great choice as well. I did not root for Krut because I don’t want people to see Ukraine as the victim. We will win the war, and everyone will see us for what we are: brave, unstoppable, with hearts of steel💛💙
Thanks for your reaction only PLEASE ch - sounds as in most words in English not k.😊😬
