Ball-tip hex wrenches really help in tight spaces. I can’t imagine life without them. Looks like a fun build - so much detail!

You got it goin' good Wayne...lol
Now I'm two packs ahead of you ... I'm done at stage 21 now...
Remember that in your next pack 12-16 you'll be putting the left wheel on and it seems to only be on the left side that you'll have to prescrew all the holes all the way in on the left wheel upright...
The right side seemed find but you'll have to check yours...
It's just that the casting didn't go all the way in...
Plus you'll have to open up the holes on the steering rods so that they fully go down onto the left plus the right upright...
Otherwise it won't seat and the turning of the wheel will be off...
Now they want you to put on the left wheel before you put together the right side upright and rods and such...
I recommend not putting the wheel on till the end of that step because it adds ALOT of weight to what your working on and its so much lighter and easier if it not on yet...
Also remember if you haven't already...
Turn your left wheel tire around so the tread is riding forward...lolol
Then in 17-21 you'll put on the right front tire and you'll see how well everything goes together if you drill those steering rod ends out...lolol
Everything else is pretty much easy... just take your time with the dashboard...lol
Well best as always across the pond...you and the Mrs...

Great build, very detailed! Ref any screws where access is awkward, may I suggest starting them at least with a jeweller's screwdriver? They tend to be shorter and narrower and will fit in narrow spaces. then you can just spin the screwdriver's barrel until the screw is inserted properly, or tight if you're able to :) Also I just thought.. if one was magnetised it would fit when a screw has to be tightened at the bottom of a long hole :)

Great video .. there is some great detail on this F1 car. Wayne you really should put the JPS decals on the car .. the only reason the livery is black is it’s part of that iconic colour scheme .. yes controversial these days .. but definitely part of the F1 scene back then.

Ironically all that metal bodywork should be plastic in this period of F1. Lovely model so far. Ayrton Senna came up to win at Monaco in the wet after having a bad start to his season in this car if I recall correctly.

The steering column is giving me some trouble, the two ends for me don’t line up flush and one of the holes is too big for a snug fit of the screws. Any advice?

Hi Wayne it would be nice to get a straight answer from someone if possible. I am a subscriber of the Ayrton Senna build and also the Ferrari F1 Collection.
I'm buying at whatever the cost because I love both collections.
I would just like too know how many parts Go to the Ayrton Senna JPS Build. ? Thank you.

I see that the black bodywork has a carbon fiber motiv but that material made its debut years later on F1 bodyworks.

    • @stuartwelsford8909
      @stuartwelsford8909 Год назад +3

No, John Barnard at Mclaren first used carbon fibre for the monocoque and bodywork in 1981 with the MP4/1. All the other teams had to follow. This is the 1985 lotus and their second chassis to be of all carbon fibre construction...
