Which Banh Mi would YOU pick!? Let me know in the comments! 😃 🇻🇳
And if you haven't seen it yet, I tried my FIRST EVER banh mi on my first day in Vietnam, you can watch it here after this one! 😃 ruclips.net/video/jbdm8vrKkpc/видео.html
That bánh mì Store used to cost 8k 1 back in 2006 on my trip back to Vietnam 😅
Banh mi huynh hoa all the way
@@stevenxa3956definitely the biggest one and is very good, I personally prefer the smaller sized ones you can just eat whilst on the go but Huynh Ha is a good one to grab on the way and take back to the hotel to sit down and enjoy
Love banh mi, beautiful country , and friendly people
Definitely such a great food I can’t believe I haven’t had before 😩😩
@@josieliftsthings same 🥵
Banh Mi is the best food in the world 🌎
FACTS 🥰😂
@@josieliftsthings I eat banh mi with Sriracha hot sauce
@@josieliftsthings there is also cow meat and pig meat
You need to travel more, it's a French roll with meat or veg
Absolutely
I was prepared this time! I made an Aussie style Banh Mi and ate it while I watched your video. That way I didn't get hungry while viewing all the wonderful food clips!
Hahaha you do need food to watch mine but it’s not as good as in Vietnam! 😂😂😂 thank you for watching!
There's bánh mì bò kho, a southern beef stew eat with noodles or baguettes... The one in the pan is very traditional, maybe introduced by the French too because they sell that as long as I could remember 40+ yrs ago when I was little
The essence of Ho Chi Minh City is there's no claim as 'the best' as opposed to other places, they offer a variety and appreciate the very diversity in their food. My mum always liked that pricey banh mi Huynh Hoa as long as I brought her some, but we also like other street stall versions regardless
Hello, Josie, I'm glad that you've made it to Vietnam and you're enjoying the food. Just a little heads-up for you guys, I don't know if anybody has told you this, but you should be very careful with your belongings, especially your phone while you're holding it on your hands, it could be taken away by bad guys, I'd say, any moment. They're very quick and reckless. This is sad but it's quite a popular fact in Saigon particularly (it can happen anywhere else in Vietnam but less, so just keep this in mind when you travel in VN). Otherwise, you're set to go. Have fun!
Living in district 7, grateful that you love Banh Mi, overall the country too! 🙆🏻♂️❤️
Around the corner from Banh Mi Huynh Hoa is Banh Mi Hong Hoa. It's a less dense sandwich because of less toppings, but it's more airy and more traditional. Absolutely my favorite. I believe Mark Weins did an episode on that spot. Good luck.
I tried the bbq pork one from Huynh Hoa and yes it was beautiful but didn't compare to Hong Hoa. It was like two completely different "dishes"
"Banh mi" just means baguette while "banh mi thit" is a sandwich recipe that you tried on the last two . The first one is an entirely different dish made for breakfast. Cheers!
Yes sir you are correct finally someone got it right
HH banh mi is far better than most they have mastered the spread dressing pate & dumping in ton of meat; used to be only 2USD when i was there 4 yrs ago still dirt cheap as comparing to 14USD in greater new york city...have fun & njoy!
Thanks for visiting our country and loving our food Josie .love ur videos
Thank you for watching my videos Ramius! 😁😁😁
2:39 - this is why we fell in love with Josie - seeing her get frightened, startled, react to spicy food, strange food, food she doesn't normally like, loud sounds etc. She's like the anti-Mark Wiens. The opposite negative reactions. 😂
I'm in love with this comment!! haha thank you!! 😂😂🥺🥺🥰🫶🏻❤❤
The veggies on the side is typical for to-go or take-away because people don’t want the veggies to wilt inside the sandwich. You can normally request that it be put inside if you’re going to eat it right away.
Love your energy and enthusiasm !
*Don't worry too much about the taste you can match the food in South Vietnam or not! I guarantee it will suit you, because this land has a great cuisine fusion including Chinese + Khmer + Vietnamese + French. Of course, it's more complete than other places, in addition, the food in my hometown like Hue Ancient Capital is also very delicious, or in the South Central region, too*
Got any good restaurant recommendations for your hometown :) ?
Watching u guys try these different banh mi looks so fun! They're known for their coffee with condense milk. I just discovered viet coffee with egg/ custard. It taste like a Tira misu dessert coffee. It's worth trying enjoy ur holiday!
I love your all of your videos they’re so fun and exciting and energetic to watch. It’s funny to describe the workers making banh mi like a conveyor belt kakaka. Have a nice trip in Vietnam and I’m expecting more videos from you.
Please try Banh Khot (mini prawn pancakes) or Bun Bo Hue (spicy beef noodles.) 😀
banh khot is absolutely one of my favorite vietnamese dish!
I'm a local people, i usually eat Bánh mì no2, it's not big and convenient to eat anywhere like coffee shop, office....And I hope you two have a good trip in Vietnam
It is so easy to find, always on the streets! Thank you for watching my video 🫶🫶
Thanks for this video, I truly enjoyed it,🙏🏽🌸 And yes, Huynh Hoa’s Bãnh Mì is DELICIOUS! I was fortunate to have it and it was the best ever. Next time you can take the Bãnh Mì to the bar a few doors down the road, they allow you to eat it there as long as you order a drink. Keep up the good work!
I'm so jealous to see you munching down those banh mi, and I'm glad that you enjoyed all of them so far. Put a smile on my face! Your vlogs are full of positive energy ✨️ Keep up your great work!
P/s: Ice Milo with either fresh milk or condensed milk is my obsession as well 😄. Too bad my current place of living doesn't have them 🥲
Hi Josie I've just discovered you and watched this vid first one of yours and I'm hooked! I like how you show what's its like as a tourist! I'm looking forward to watching more of your adventures well done👏

Good job on the video! I like your style! 💯💯💯👍😁
amazing , i love your video about vietnam
"Listen to me! There is only one option" Actually, she wasn't trying to be rude, it was just the way she trying to convert her statement from Vietnamese to English and it just didn't sound right ...😀
It did sound really rude but I remember that things just come off in translation sometimes 😂😂
Correct
I tried the Huynh Hoa one a while ago, it was too expensive, too heavy, too overwhelming and honestly, I kinda feel like it wasnt worth it.
The best I ever had was a grilled pork with pig liver and egg I ate regularly when I was in highschool in Da Nang city. It's so good, so affordable (20k vnd for one loaf as I'm typing this).
The one at the very end that I had in my first day in Vietnam video was better than that one too, but so many people on my Tik Tok told me it’s not real banh Mi because it’s croc? The road type of bread? Hahaa but I loved it 😂😭 beats all of these ones for me!
20k is a much better price than my toad one though it was 45k 😂😂🙏🏻
I agree: too heavy, too overwhelming. Many years ago (10-20 years), banh mi was not heavy, overwhelming like the Huynh Hoa's. Less is more! Imo, cheap banhmi with less stuffs inside is better, but remember to check the hygiene and food safety of the shop.
Yeah agree with this re Huynh Hoa. It's really customised to Americans who want a massive 12 inch type subway. It felt like a chore eating Huyhn Hoa BMT. The best Banh Mi Thit I found in Saigon was Nhu Lan near the Bitexco building. Freshly roasted pork on a spit you can see it rotating right next to the BMT stand, added with carefully sized slices of pork meat, cucumber, carrot, radish.. thinly spread and punchy pate, a big mouthful of pate isn't something you want to keep biting into.. thinly spread packed with flavour is way better. I think Huyhn Hoa is popular with those who like to feel stuffed from a meal and tell themselves it only cost them $3-4.
@@accountmanager7117 Havent tried Như Lan's Bánh Mỳ yet, but I tried their mooncakes many times before and it's amazing.
The first one is banh mi op la. You get a hot skillet with meats, egg, sometimes veggies and sauces, and pate. You load up a piece of bread. Then you use the remainder of your bread to eat up the left over sauces and egg yolk.
Bun Thit Nuong is hand down the best dish to me. Enjoying the Vietnam series
Wow, it is so nice video, please trip to my country, Cambodia 💕
Been there and eaten that Huyn Hoa banh mi. Can’t wait to go back to Saigon. ❤❤❤
When I was little living in Vietnam in 1980s, around age 7 and 8, I would eat Banh Mi stuffed with canned sardines and the usual vegetables daily. It was after the war but for some reason there was plenty canned sardines imported from somewhere.
Yum!!! You made me hungry josie 🇵🇭😊
Thank you for introducing banh mi to everyone. Looking at two people eating banh mi made me feel so hungry
Our pleasure! Thank you 😁😁
Beautiful country
It's great that you like it
Thank you!!! Hahaa I can’t believe I’ve never had one before 😂
I was just in Saigon two weeks ago and was disappointed that bánh mì huỳnh hoa's quality has dropped since the last time I was there.
REALLY?! These were my first banh mi’s EVER (besides the one in my first Vietnam video) so I had nothing else to compare them to! Now I wish I had come to Vietnam before if they were even better! 😂😭
Here, one week back from Hanoi and banh mi was better in states than in Vietnam… plus, there wasn’t much of good variety.
@@josieliftsthings people just say that to make sure they had the better version 😂
That interesction near Huynh Hoa used to be a railway junction back in the colonial days hence the number of offshoots 😅 Saigon Station is a 1km or so down in the direction of one of them. Happy travels!
Love your video haha, banh mi Huynh Hoa is so goodddd
Ooooh my god, that's so sweet, Josie don't eat too much your steel growing ...lol thanks for sharing, luv and peace from South America.
You seem to enjoy your life very much. That is so wonderful. One thing I'd like to have a comment about "Banh mi`" in Vietnam. Banh mi there are much better prepare than those here in the U.S. I am just wondering why!
That coffee place is expensive, same price as in the U.S but it looks luxury. @1:56 it's called Banh Mi Chao. If you order the one without the word "Chao" then you'll get the regular Banh mi Sandwich. "Chao" means pan. Can you share the address of the Banh mi Huynh Hoa place?
26 Lê Thị Riêng, Phường Phạm Ngũ Lão, Quận 1, Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh
❤️👍💪🇫🇷Hi, Josie! Hope that you had good time in my country VN!
I have no chance like you! It's quite a long time I wasn't back there!
The banh mi shop Hong Hoa is the most expensive one in Saigon (HCM City)! Sometime in a small alley you can find a very delicious banh mi!
Welcome to Vietnam! Wish you have happy and happy days in Vietnam!
hi josie I every time watching your channel make me hungry 🤭🤭🤭
Love your videos ❤️❤️ keep it up 👍
Thank you so much!! And thank you for watching! 😁😁🙏🏻
Commonly well-known along with Pho, Vietnamese baguette sandwiches, called Banh Mi, have attracted a growing fan base around the world.
Next time you should try Banh Cuon or Bun Bo so far
You are spot on pronunciation Good Morning in Vietnamese. I enjoy your videos very much. Thank you
This makes me so happy! The man in my hotel who taught me it would be very proud 🥺 haha thank you for watching! 🫶😁
@@josieliftsthings We don't say "chào buổi sáng"...someone just translated word for word. For native Vietnamese speaker, we don't care what time of the day, so you just say hello to whoever. For example chào anh, chào cô, chào ông, chào bà, etc.
Banh mi in Saigon are fantastic. If you have a chance, you should visit the central part of Vietnam, specifically Da Nang and Hoi An. Banh mi there are different from Saigon. While banh mi in Saigon is a bit dry, banh mi in Hoi An is "wetter" because of the charsiu sauce added in the banh mi

There’s a banh mi stall next to my house in Ho chi minh city called “Banh mi 17”. The stall has been running for decades and it was my favorite banh mi stall ever since I was just a tiny little kid. Out of all of the banh mi stall I’ve tried across vietnam, not saying I’ve visited all of them, no banh mi can ever beat the special banh mi I always order there almost every morning. Now that I’ve been living here for a little over 20 years (I move here to America at 8) in America. The banh mi here just don’t hit right for me (but they’re still good). That’s why every time I come back to Vietnam. That stall will be the first place I’ll eat.
I’m Vietnamese so know Vietnamese foods so well. Josie you are right. Banh Mi and Pho ( one of noodles 🍜 dishes ) that most popular for Vietnamese foods in Viet Nam and Vietnamese over the world 🌎!
You can easily to get them every city, town or Conner …
You should try the others Vietnamese popular foods as such as Bun Bo Hue ( kind of pork noodles soup), Banh xeo ( it called Vietnamese Pizza 🍕or pan cake ) and spring rolls!!..
Enjoy your vacation and foods in V N !!
I can not wait to travel to Vietnam next April! My wife is from Tay Ninh Vietnam and spending 6 weeks over there! I can not wait to eat the bánh mì, Bún bò Huế, bánh xèo and Bo kho. just to name a few!
Gotta try Bánh Canh Trảng Bàng (next to Tây Ninh) when you get there, really well-known in South Vietnam
I am Vietnamese living in Canada for 20 years and I can tell from my own experience there's only Pho in Canada I find is better than Vietnam ( probably be because better beef quality and quantity of bones are much more). All other dishes here are far behind from the real deal.
Chúc mừng bạn đến Việt Nam ❤🎉

Jack what a sick comment! Thank you! 😁😁😁😊😊🙏🏻
Wonderful journey and the best choice when you choose Saigon for the first time that you have to get in Vietnam. But if you have the plan to be more in VN. I think you should spend time exploring Hanoi where is so much traditional food. And in the central, you should going to Hue where is such a spectacular landscape.
Your first banh mi dish is technically called "banh mi chao" or banh mi "pan", various other ingredients could be substitute for it, from steak to ham, but almost always, pate, butter, veggies and cheese are on there. My favorite has to be Huynh Hoa, granted, it is the most expensive banh mi in Vietnam (not counting those truffle or gold leaf banh mi), but it's substantial, more meat, more sauce, more pate.
You have any issues with flying the drone? I heard the police will hassle you?
A banh mi that has sliced tomatoes is sorta suspect. A friend told me that. Hallmarks of a classic banh mi is pate, cold cuts, pickled daikon and carrots, cilantro and jalapeño, and a drizzle of Maggi sauce.
The last one you had is my most most favourite one as well. among Saigonese some people agree and some are not but personally I would see myself come back to this place and bring all my friends or colleagues who never tried it.
It’s nice! I like it. Now I’m craving for some Banh Mi. 😆
On The Day I arrived in L.A, My Sister picked my mom and I up from LAX and I had Banh Mi at a Vietnamese shop Weeks before my Graduation Adventure to Disneyland.
The Banh Mis from Ngoc Sang and Huynh Hoa were my favorite. The ingredients they put in the breads are fresh and have great quality.
I agree! I miss banh MI’s now even though I thought I had enough of them for years 😂😂😂
I went to Saigon in 2019. I still miss Bahn me . I lost count how many Bahn me I had.
positive I've never had tomato on Bahn Mi before ??
Id go the breakkfast one given the choice.
Thanks for showing us around 🙂
Every stall has their own little style - tomato was a new addition 😂
Yeah the breakfast one was great. Who doesn’t want to soak up an egg with that amazing Vietnamese bread 😁
@@josieliftsthings Bahn Mi Queen in Hoi Ann is the best I’ve ever had.
Actually Hoi Ann is my favorite place in Vietnam if I had to choose just one location.

Bạn thật tuyệt vời,cảm ơn bạn đã đến đất nước việt nam tôi và thương thức nhiều món ăn ngon miệng ở saigon ,chúc bạn trái nghiệm vui vẻ và luồn mạnh khỏe nhé🎉 ❤❤
Banh mi just means bread in Vietnamese. Now, you could have a banh mi ga which is essentially a chicken sandwich or banh mi thit nuong which is a sandwich with grilled pork. So, you could have a banh mi with any kinds of meats or fillings.
Nice! Next time, just order banh mi dac biet. That comes with everything. I think that’s the best one.
The reason you did not like the first one is because that is NOT really banh mi. You had BÒ NÉ, with a banh mi on the side, and therefore it is not a traditional sandwich. There are many Vietnamese dishes, such as Bo Kho, that are served with banh mi on the side. The 2nd place was a Xiu Mai banh mi, which is not as common as the 3rd one. They are all good, but I also prefer that most tradutional sandwich banh mi, like the 3rd one you had.
124k Dong for 2 banh mi at the end I would say that is expensive because 1 bowl of pho is around 50k lol.
I mean for the local it is expensive still, but for tourists np.
The last one is the best one, I have been there in 2015.
I like your video, you are so cute👍👍. Welcome to our Vietnam 🇻🇳
Bò né Lệ Hồng thats kind of food use with bánh mì and this address for local may be you like it.
Hello, Banh.Mi Huynh Hoa, Quan 1 near 5mn from 'Ben Thanh market', is one of the best in Saigon HCMcity, feat. with pâté and 3 or 4 sort Vietnamese Ham.
'Mortadelle = Cha' and pork meat.
Pricing is usually 20.000 dgs to 30.000 dgs for street food banh mi, this last one is quite expensive for a local ' banh (cake) Mi (bread) '.over 60.000dgs (I knew this one few years ago for 35.000dgs 😉).
The crispiness is made by rice flour' 80% not wheat.
If you 'enjoy your Banh Mi, the quality is made by fine Vietnamese Herbs, and sweet pickles (French héritage from le 'cornichon' famous very sour in France' in our sandwiches').
In fact, even in Starbucks, or Highlands Coffee, or Café N'guyen Trung You could find fresh banh mi for 30.000-40.000 dgs also.
Enjoy your 'Banh Mi'.
Cheers.
that looks so good
Hope u enjoy staying there
Love it! 😁😁😊😊
I will go there next month 2 try that 3rd place u went through 👌🏻
They all looks good👍👍👍😋💕❤️
There's lots of delicious food
If weather predict rain heavily then buy a lot of bread then reduce rain
Great job Josie.
I love bánh mì, phở, cơm tấm and many more kkkkk
They weren't out of all other options they literally just sell one option. And it was hands down the best banh mi I tried in all of Vietnam
Can you buy banh mi in Westfield shopping centre? It seems that you like AUD$ than US$ ? Why didn’t you calculated VND to UK £€ or Euro ? It’s complicated to guess if you are from Australia than New York
Complicated if you’re lazy

I eat Bánh mì a lot but there's almost nothing like the other. Each Bánh mì has a different taste so you won't feel bored when you eat it.
yes that was pate inside, and also i find all the veggies and even the chili just brings so much balance to the sandwich, it's essential
Watching 🇵🇭 travel safe always GODBLESS 🙏❤️
THANK YOUUUU MACJHAY! 😁😁🫶🏻🙏🏻
I thought the first dish is called Bonè. That's not a Banh Mi. Good reference to watch is Mikey Chen eating Bonè in Saigon. But you are correct with the last Banh Mi being the best from my experience.
Made me so hungry watching you eat these x
Banh mi Huynh Hoa is the best. I order online and Grab driver delivery to me every time I go to Viet Nam.
How come we cannot get the same bread like those bánh mì over there here in USA.
To all lovely and dear English-speaking foreigners, Vietnamese don't say "Good morning," "Good afternoon," or "Good evening." So, the literal translations from English to Vietnamese sound very strange. A typical polite greeting is "Cha`o" followed by the appropriate social title (anh, chi, em, ect.) for the person.
Banh Mi Hong Hoa which is right around the corner from Huyen Hoa is the best Banh Mi in Saigon
The last one is definitely the real Vietnamese bánh mì.
Soo good! 😊 Thanks for watching! ❤️🙏🏼
The 3rd banh mi would be my favorite.
the last one is the best one in my opinion.
