Finally one of the more widely viewed channels pointing out the strengths are NOT as a vocoder. For me this has the same fundamental problem as Labyrinth - to get anywhere near full capability and value out of it you need other supporting modular kit. However, if you already have a decent modular rig to provide that there are better ways to add this functionality, particularly if your budget lets you stretch up to a Bark or Fumana.
Great ideas here as always ❤! I absolutely love my SPECTRAVOX. As you said, people should stop thinking about this wonderful Synth as only a Vocoder simply because that's the least exciting part of this Sound Machine. I am definitely going to try a few of your interesting ideas/sound & instrument combinations that you've shown here. Thank you for revealing to everyone what I've been trying to say about the SPECTRAVOX ~❤🎉 This is the best demo I've seen for this Sound Device. BRÁVO ~😅
It's cool, there's a lot of neat things you can do with it, but $600? I think Moog just has a ton of extra "$599" price tags lying around, so everything gets one. Good stuff Starsky.
Yeah rub it in. It’s 699 euro. And atm the dollar is 0,91 so that is 772,2 dollar here. Not that it matters since i m not into these minijack thingies 😅
I remember the 101 being on sale at the end of the run at £100 and thought about it… but then thought I had enough Moog filters. Always wish I’d picked it up for ease of use.
Me this morn: "I wonder if the Spectravox is actually a good alternative to a Sherman Filter Bank". Opens RUclips...1st video on front page is Starsky's. Tis a sign :)
Err… no. What don’t you understand. Happy to explain, but I need to keep the videos moving without going into explicit detail on absolutely everything. If you ask nicely I’ll help you out, but no need for the snarkiness. If you don’t understand ask for help, simple.
@@StarskyCarr this is a floskel which is too many in yt videos...so everytime when i hear it i get bored as to hear another time the lack of explanations.

It's got a nice vibe to it. Ive a favourite that is my go-to (SVC 350), so have a reason not to go to this first for that, but love all the other stuff.
By far the best demo of what this thing can do.
loop-who, that's what I say

so far this is the most interesting modern moog
the ballad of dorothy parker - respect starsky! 🤩
Choon!
Love the Dorothy Parker intro
Totally agree, the Spectravox is so much more than a Vocoder.

Nice one, thanks.I think it's a really useful little box of tricks, you just have to look a bit deeper than take it at face value.
Fantastic and very inspiring walk thru..💚.... the drummachine mode was gorgeous
Great video! That Black Sequencer looks really cool.
I use my Spectravox as part of my percussion, along with a TT-78, and two Werkstatts.

Looks like the ideal companion to the Yamaha Reface CP and YC ❤
Yeah, get some grunge!
Yeah, let me get a fruit cocktail, I ain't too hungry"
Dorothy laughed
She’d have laughed if I’d taken my pants off! 😂
Pretty good demo!
Excellent, love this video.
Oh this just takes me back to the days when Moogerfoogers were affordable, sorry lost concentration for a moment.

@StarskyCarr mine too, no one nailed drum programming better then Prince
I didn’t expect a Prince Jam in the beginning.

That reminds me again still no sign of my Stylophone CPM DS-2
Versatile bit of kit! very interesting.
i didnt expect to like this synth!
So I went back and found your SVC-350 video, and I now feel more expense coming on ...
😂
Nice video. I bet it would pair with Subharmonicon in interesting ways.
always the same when speakers have nothing to say or cannot explain, they say: you've got the idea.🤐

thanks for explaining this lesser understood Moog
hells yeah.
This thing DOES sound cool when used the right way.
or... the wrong ways in a cool way hahahahaha
Yeah, its got a lot going on and all sounds nice.
I’m trying to be excited about it… I’m trying… but in a world where money is tight… I’ll pass
Yep.
Actually...do you still have the Sherman?
I do... funny - I never thought of this along the same lines... until now :)

Sure, it's $600...
But you could spend $5000 on a Minimoog instead. If you have a use case for it, the $$$ don't matter.
I'll pass, I just wait for behringer to do it's thing 😊
Ouch!
Oh God!
