Came here from a facebook post which mentioned only limbus. I am from sikkim only andnstay here in yuksom. The post sharer on fb questioned the credibility of this video, but I feel this is really great research by someone from the outer community. Even limbus themselves do not knw this much and I think other tribes as well. But ewta kura ho tyoh ke ho bhanay, this is history, which cant be hundred percent true. This channel has referred to some books which I have also read during my thesis, and it is completely fine to take sources. Many won't agree with it, many will. Aboh itihaas ko lagi ta tyahi samayma po pugnuh paryoh ta ushova testai credibility ra authenticity khojnu cha bhane. We read sources and then we are supposed to research more, these youtube videos can only give you a summary of the history but atleast they are giving which is commendable. Khoi tah hamro afnui limbu bhai baini haru le banauna video ani ustai ramro knowledge cha bhane ujjyagar garung. Galti nikalnu, galti bataunu sajilo huncha, kasaiko mehnat cha, kunai bahiri manche le hamro samaj ko kura dekhaunu nae thulo kura ho tara hamro ta kaam ni galti dekhaunay ho ra aghi bardieuna ta. They have done great work i feel and this should continue. Do we have anyone who raised such things over youtube or any other big platform before? No!! Moreover they are giving sources, not claiming anything of their own or changing history specially the history which some of our own community people think is true but reject everything else.

There is a difference between history, legend and myth. Any culture in the world has abundance of myths and legends which has often overshadowed the reality. Our region is no exception.
The history as mentioned in the video may or may not be authentic yet the team has left no stone unturned to present us with something that has not been done before.

While reading history of limbuwan, especially ist ilam king has Mu ta chi Ema hang name ,I believe with time he and his people became limbu as limbuwan was made with the help of 10 kings with king of ilam being one..As per folk tales 8 kings of earlier limbuwan was defeated by new 10 kings...yakhas also says that they were defeated by rongs and chongs
Earlier few lepchas might have become limbus and like wise in chogyal regime, many limbus became lepcha too and one of them is my grandmother parents who became lepcha...U can find some thars that are same.

This is one of the most relatable research video I have ever come across.think most of the evidence that supports your research about the limbu is true ,but don't know about other tripe. And another thing is that Limbu's never lost the war against Gurkha , instead they betreit us cleaverly >here Gurkhas those days were bhramins and chettriyas.they disobeyed the treaty b/wn . Limbu's and Gurkha.Rest all the evidence are really true.Even about the" mundhum" that you mentioned is very much true.

One of the interesting documentaries its like one of the old tv doc shows factual, informative and real research. The limbu people are exonym group their history and origins are still not fully understood their origins are also mentioned how they lived in himalayan region’s history which is older than rig vedas or puranas or the kiratas kirats means the victorious ones its origin is said they got this title after defeating the dravidian invaders in the northern india .i did not know lepchas and limbu shared close ties because in lepcha cultures lepcha language and people are directly descandant from gods and they share amazing history one of most sophisticated history in asia.i have heard an folk story and documentary about how limbu or kirat people came to be its said in ancient time thousands of years ago must be 2000 or more maybe older so in inner mongolia(ancient history of china)when south china was still south tibetan kings place and Inner Mongolia was big china . There was poor ethnics indigenious tribes there they were peaceful loving people(kirats or the limbus)they inter mingled with tibetians then later tibet was attacked by mongols, mongols won war against them they werent as brutal but tibetian somehow still hold grudges against them still today. now the next part it is said that in ancient kiratdesh was underattacked again this time by other groups gurkhas(aka hindu bahuns )and to save the people of kirat and blood kins in kiratdesh the mongols wanted to help and they sent out brave people and those were (kirats or limbus) limbus group are mixed of sino tibetians and mixed bhote ,bhutia which are known as sherpas. Limbu has historical ties with ancestors worshipping they are share similarities related to lechas, mongolians. Siberians also worships ancestors but limbus dont share anything close anything than some strikingly similarities with sakha people culture. I think limbu people came to be because they are thankful to their ancestors wisdom and they worship niwa or nuwa an ancient real life religious leader which is belived to hold super powers and earth godess and she could either be from Mongolia or russia , south russia used to be borders vessels with mongolia and shared brotherhood kinship

Bahun lai chai sikkim ra Darjeeling vatai hatau hai. Look at nepal. How bahunbad is still there. Even chettri (khas) are starting to realise how bahuns had totally eradicated their own tradition and culture and bahuns enjoying seats more than they bargained for. This is done because bahuns and chettris are kept under one single cluster for electoral purpose, yet chettris are being deprived. Once known as khas, an animist (Masto God) foloower, buddhism worshippers, matrilineal society, pastoralist and salt traders, later Hinduized by bahuns who ran from india to Jumla of karnali province with introduction of Janai system, hindusim, casteism. This is not Nepal. This is Darjeeling, this is Sikkim, this is Kalimpong followed by India's constitution to follow any religion. Bahunbad, hindubad chai chaldaina hai.
