Viper is almost the only Apex Predator worthy of any kind of respect or admiration since he's a professional, not a deranged war criminal. Giving him a daughter and a wife, and showing the effect his death had on them, really fleshes him out from the faceless badass he is in Titanfall 2 when Jack and BT encounter him. Immediately makes Valkyrie a highly relatable Legend too, which I appreciate. The fact that when he grabs the falling Titan he ignores her pleas, immediately punches her out of the cockpit, and then looks until he sees her chute open before trying to save himself is such a beautiful detail.
Oh, and the animation is beautiful, sometimes I rewatch this for the feels and sometimes just for the visuals. Great writing too, for a simple story the three central characters are very well fleshed out.

Viper didn't die, FYI. You knocked them out. Even when you shoot Viper out of the cockpit, they are breathing AFTER you and BT walk away. Viper is also the ONLY enemy pilot who you don't immolate or completely destroy. Can look up plenty of evidence on YT or elsewhere. Even the devs are super coy when asked about viper as opposed to literally any of the other pilots.

Also said that he finally got a proper burial. So he's Still in his suit and the remains of his titan were still there when she found him (hence why she has the titan parts to build her jetpack off of

Pilots really were something else. I've played Apex for a long time before I finally tried Titanfall 2's multiplayer. Legend does not come close to a pilot

That was one thing that was jarring playing Apex. Despite the maps being huge, you move slow as molasses compared to how high speed titanfall multiplayer was.

I love that the Militia fleet are using faction accurate ships like Crows and the Redeye. One of them had the callsign Misfit-4: Misfit was the name for the Militia ship (callsign Misfit-2) that got shot down in the beginning of Demeter in Titanfall 1, AKA the ship that was meant to deploy you. Really cool that they kept the naming schemes

@@WILLTY13 people have simply have been playing for a long time. It's just very sad that these days being good is to be looked down upon, i personally love to play with and against experienced and inexperienced players alike.
@@WILLTY13 on the upside if you're decent to good at Apex you'll do just fine if you return, too. Enough translates. I took a TF2 dip recently after not playing for years (but playing a lot of Apex) and while I wasn't at the top of the scoreboards of most matches, I was at least in the top half with a respectable KDR. It is absolutely sweaty, though, that's true.

The fact that Viper jumped out of a high-speed craft with just his combat gear and no parachute then somehow landing on a flying hunk of metal just shows how he earned the title of Apex Predator. Then hours later the dude tore apart an entire fleet with no hits.

@@HandsomeWaver Also the war is over rendering pilots useless in what we can assume is a non combat zone/time, as the apex games are just a blood sport. So to him pilot means nothing, at least not anymore.
I actually found it kind of funny when she shoots the missiles and the other pilot just casually sends two missiles in retaliation and knocks her out of the air easily, it just shows that even though she could pilot the robot she wasn't close to the skill level of an actual pilot
How is she able to flay it to begin with?! It goes against established lore, pilots can only operate there Titans because of a Neural Link, which she doesn’t have!!

I love the little note of Viper emptying his Northstar's missile salvoes after Kairi ejects. Using the launcher recoil to right the Titan on approach with the ground, reducing the weight and thus impact of the crash, and ensuring he wouldn't die from the resulting explosion of his payload. THAT'S what you do when your life is on the line. It really speaks to his professionalism, and I am honored that he chose my Titan out of several Militia chassis to rip the arm off of.
Kinda makes me wish that Valkyrie had a gameplay interaction like that, between VTOL Jets and Missile Swarm. Maybe she could gain a slightly faster fall speed after using Missile Swarm in the air.

This gives me a whole new perspective on the Apex Predators.
Viper wasn't just a kickass pilot, he was a father who wanted his kid to have a better life. He became a mercenary for the money, because he didnt want his kid to do it.
Viper's a great father, I have a lot more respect for the character now that I've seen why he went to fight
