I used to travel to the Netherlands quite a bit for business. The Dutch do love their sandwiches as you note. However, the amount of meat or cheese on a sandwich was often limited to 1 or 2 slices, so I would have to buy two in order to feel I ate something that filled me. Butter would often be on the sandwiches too.
Now not all behaviour is true for all Dutchies but yes.. sometimes you get across a certain thing which is totally different in other countries. In Russia it is quite common to go to a restaurant with a number of relatives or friends and order far more than just a meal for each person. A table full of food is seen as a sign of prosperity.. so that's why they go on holidays in a All inclusive resort and empty out the buffet by piling food on the table and not eating it all.. Left overs is usual and a sign there was more than enough.
Boots: Even in summer it can rain a lot. So if u wear sandals u get wet and muddy feet. U don't want to go to a party like that. Most dutchies bike (going to party or public transport). U need good shoes to bike in comfort.
Great upload. Pleased to see that still healthy eating is seen as important... living abroad as a Dutchy, I miss healthy food, as most countries neglect this and favour multinational food crap. Look at meal deals, just fat/sugar unhealthy worth pennies, sold hundred fold... making a nation sick in mind and body. Ban Lai!!!!
@CAPTAIN HOOK We have very many types of tea in Russia from different plants, herbal tea, roiboos, and they are all high quality. When we make the mint tea, we make the basis on black or green or herbal tea and then add mint there :)

Yes, it is still true in some places :)
Regarding your first topic, "Wie mooi wil zijn, moet lijden" is an old Dutch saying. Maybe it stems from the time of the corsets for women
Thank you for your comment, Ronald. We also have this saying, the beauty requires suffering ....

Some one below is hijacking your comments with fake accounts reacting and trying to promote a financial scam... BE AWARE !
Hi, Hans, thank you for the information. Actually, they do no harm :)

So, you are not talking trash about your country anymore? What happened ? Also, did you hear about Visas cancelations yet, for people from Russia?
Nothing special happened. Of course we follow the news.
Dutch can't make tea, except for normal english tea, if they try anything else it's terrible
It's not a tea country for sure, but they are amazing in coffee ☕
