This was great. One more question, how long before the actual start of your master courses did you sign the “contrat professionnel “? I was told you can legally sign 3 months in advance then a different person told me 2 months in advance.
I’m not completely sure about all the legalities as I did mine kind of last minute, but I signed my contract in mid-August, started working the first week of September, and then started school during the last week of September!

Hi Jennifer! Yes, there are some in every field! It's not as common for the museums and similar institutions to use interns so it may be harder to find, but it definitely exists. For tutors I'd recommend using a site like iTalki or Preply. I haven't heard of the "Career in France" program you mentioned so I can't give any advice about that

Hello! Unfortunately most "free" education in France comes from doing a work-study program alongside your degree, usually only offered in fields like business, IT, finance, marketing, etc - so might be difficult to find if you're not looking to go after another degree. There are tons of French programs here but most are paid programs, or you could always apply for a French program at a French public university (they're not 100% free but they are far less expensive than studying in the states would be). There's a few different types of programs that offer alternance but I've found that it's mainly business (Finance, HR, Business admin, etc) and marketing programs
Yes you'll need to enroll in the Masters first. Each school has a different alternance "rhythm" (some are 1 week at work, 3 weeks at school; some are 3 days at work, 2 days at school, etc) and your job will ask what your rhythm is when you apply

I'd never heard of that rule before but you're right :/ You do still have to be in France for 12 months before applying to the alternance program
