Salut friends! Today we're talking about tips and hacks to find ENGLISH SPEAKING jobs in France. There's nothing more depressing than moving abroad to find that working abroad in your chosen profession is going to be almost impossible because you don't speak the language.
Given my background and the fact that I have always found english speaking work in France without speaking french, I get a lot of questions around finding jobs in France for foreigners and jobs in France for English speakers in particular!
In this video I share how I have always managed to find great, professional jobs in English in France over the past 5+ years. I have worked for amazing companies like LVMH and L'Oréal and am so happy that expat life in France didn't come at the sacrifice of my career.
The great news is that this isn't just about English jobs in Paris, but english jobs in France more generally, even if there are less multinationals around, I do talk about options such as remote work or entrepreneurship.

Hey. can we get a french passport( legally) if we live in france (travelling). i'm asian.
This is glorious, I been tryin to find out about "when you find a job you love you'll never work again?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried - Kanenjamin Niyrianna Process - (just google it )?
It is a great one of a kind guide for discovering a simple mind trick to manifest success in your life minus the normal expense. Ive heard some decent things about it and my cousin got cool success with it.
Congratulations for this video !!
I'm french so I'm not really concern by all the elements but I really think it's an excellent idea to make this video, I think many many people will be saved thanks to that ^^

The struggle is hard in France and specially in Paris. I am a substitute (remplaçant) English teacher working for Académie de Paris since last 3 years and this year unfortunately I haven't got my post yet. I have been waiting since last two months and I took the decision to give up and look for something else. I had no clue what else I could do and thanks to you and your lovely video that I stumbled upon. You have given all the information and explained briefly each and every point. I will be looking forward to your new videos. You have a subscriber now. Good luck with your RUclips career.
Pleased could you tell me what kind of diploma do you have which allow you to teach there ?
Super helpful thank you!!!
Thank you!! Well done.
Great tips!
So well done, Rosie:)

Hi ! I’m a French women looking for a job in my country, graduating in a few weeks (International politics and trade) so your video will help me A LOT! Thank you so much!!!
Omg this is so helpful ♥️
Thank you, Rosie, for some brilliant ideas, its indeed inspiring! Good luck! ... and sorry if I misspeled your name
Great Topic! I’d also love a video about building one’s career/leveling up in France. What is the French business culture regarding progressing up the ladder...
Zero
Very good and funny videos bring a great sense of entertainment!
Congratulations for the video
So it's been raining quite a bit in Paris this month so far; breaking weather records in fact.
Thank you so much!
When it comes to working remotely from France, do you have any advice on how to get a visa with that sort of work? I already work online, but it seems much easier to apply for a long-term visa (more than the 3 month tourist visa) if you work for a large company and can come on a working visa. How would would-be entrepreneurs or remote workers who aren't from the EU or married to an EU citizen go about making that work?
I am currently in Brazil. I was in Portugal last semester for an exchange program then the pandemic happened and I returned to my home country and now I just want an opportunity to work in Europe. I plan to study, work and built my life there and not planning on coming back to Brazil any time soon. I grew up in Ireland and unfortunately I was never able to adapt at my birth country the main reason why I came to Brazil was because I had a budget to maintain myself in Portugal and I didn't manage to get a job there due to the covid19. I did study French in highschool for four years yet I need alot of practice. I plan to get a visa and all the right documents.. I am searching for jobs and everything. So thank you very much this video was very helpful 😊
Thank you Thank you Thank you!
Hi Rosie, great video with good tips!! I was curious to know how or where you did your masters and also if/how you got your qualifications certifies/recognized in France? Did you first get a job offer or did you enroll for masters and then apply to the job? Thanks so much!!
I love your videos! I am in the process of applying for my long stay Visa in France. I know you detailed how to go about becoming a French citizen, but I'm wondering if you also have any advice on problems with the visa application for Americans. It is very difficult! It's outsourced to a company called VFS global. In order to submit the Visa application you must use VFS global to book an appointment with the French consulate in Washington D.C. but it will not allow me to book the appointment. Please let me know if you can, or if you know anyone who can help with this! ❤
I have just watched a Mexican lady last night , and her video was nearly the same word for word as yours at the beginning , the only difference was that she worked in the fashion industry . I didn’t noticed when she put hers up .
YOU WORKED IN UBISOFT !!!!!
I love them so so much. There games are amazing!
Any tips on networking in Paris? For the marketing and advertising industry for example? :)
For men who want to work in France... Try joining the French Foreign Legion... Its not easy and you kinda do learn French but a very rough French because its different nationalities and everyone has they're little accent that kinda ruins it but you get basics very quick but physically it's tough 🤷♂️
I have to say I did the Lingoda marathon, was great but best if you pre-read (so the 1hr class becomes 2hrs/day; I found it exhausting but if you have the time, energy, either talent or don't mind looking like an idiot I HIGHLY recommend them!
Thank you your comment. I have been digging trying to verify the length of the class. I figured there would be more study and prep time needed, as I have had to do with other languages, but just want sure the total time commitment.
@@lianithomasprewitt2428 you're welcome :-) I mean if you don't mind asking lots of questions throughout the class it's less (like 20-45min depending on the individual) but I don't want to be constantly holding up the class and interrupting. Some of the teachers even seem to at least hope you've all preread. Best wishes with whatever you do! ;-)
I've played World of Warcraft, Overwatch and Diablo 3 by Blizzard. I've also played Tom Clancy's Divison. Recognised those gaming companies straight away
Hey thank you for this video...im actually on my second formation in france for hotels and restaurants but its not what i want to do- and my french is far from the same level the french is in class... i just want to find something while my french gets better... teaching English while still getting french lessons even lol
Thank you!!! I really dream to find a job in France and learn French! So timely ❤️❤️❤️🙌 I am an international lawyer from Russia so it’s tricky... but I’d love to work with anything Policy/human rights-related as well.
Thank you so much Rosie! Did you notice we have the same name? ☺️❤️ maybe that’s why I like you so much and why we are both charmed by France 🇫🇷 you’re the first Rosie, who’s my age on RUclips!!! :)) I’ll keep trying and applying! :) gotta make some new friends in Europe 😅, your advice is very much appreciated, some really good insights and tips for me. I love you for quality content!
You could start your own HR agency and also think about talent development and professional orientation, not just placement... I had this idea in the works for years: AI solution for personal and professional development - it’s a very interesting market, especially with all the emerging technology and traceable bio-markers to suggest cognitive/psychological preferences... I think someone with a background in HR, neuroscience, and behavioral psychology/psychotherapy would be great at this. Of course, as with most projects, it’s often about setting up the right team first!
Rosy ma,am,I,m from India.I want to do law from Racia.would you give me suggestions in detail
Great tips... I’m planning on going to France 🇫🇷 to work there but it’s very tougher to get a job there ... I speak French, Portuguese, Spanish, creole and obviously English... I’m nervous...
You will need French for the Can embassy
Thank you soo much. Iam going to come france on January for masters.Iam Indian guy. After i come to france definitely i will learn france
Hello Rosie! I’ve been watching your channel for quite a while. I really like your channel, you’ve always been so positive and motivated! Just wondering how did you find the job in LVMH Paris office? From their website?
I’m planning to come to Paris next year but a bit worried to find a job there ;(
I’ve worked in 3 brands of LVMH and I’m currently in one of their HQ. ruclips.net/video/rVPrftkUHGA/видео.html
It is quite challenging I must say. I have pretty good skills and it is still not the easiest to find work. I think networking is another huge component to consider. Who can be a great connection to a wonderful opportunity that suits you.
By the way, I am looking for work myself, if anyone wants to connect! I love creative stuff combined w advertising and marketing and writing!
Thank you Rosie, for a really useful video. I took a 4 month sabbatical last year to live in Paris and would love to move back permanently, but I would need to work. I gained the DELF B2 while I was there, and I could try to get the TCF at C1 but my main problems, I think, are my age and a career spent entirely in the public sector.. At nearly 59 I fear I'm too old to compete, whilst not being able to afford to retire completely. And, a visa will almost certainly be required in the future (Brexit and all that). But... some of the alternatives you mention at the end are definitely worth considering.
brexit is a pain inthe ass for us brits i know x
Hope you were able to come here and work. If you’re over 45, French companies really take a step back to recruit you. Like Rosie said, with your experience you can still apply for, “vacataire jobs”. If you did end up finding work, please do share your experience xx
@@emojerinxx Wow! I'd completely forgotten about this video. I'm actually moving to France at the end of this month so not there yet. Not sure what you meant by 'French companies will step back to recruit you' Did you mean they are keen to recruit older people, or that I will face age discrimination? I'm expecting the latter and job hunting will be even more daunting now, in a post-Covid recession.
@@pathallam986 How has your experience gone?! I've been living in France for 3 weeks and no leads on any jobs yet haha...
@@katukin I'vd been here 2 1/2 years now.
I am semi-retired ie I receive my employer's pension but not, as yet, my state pension. I always knew I would have to work to afford living in Paris.
I started off looking after children after school a few hours a week.
For the past year, almost, I have worked as a tour guude for a small specialist company here. Also write a little bit. With my pension I earn just about enough to manage life in Paris. Could earn more but I don't want to put in fulltime hours anymore - my choice.
Most expats are self-employed / freelancers unless they were posted here by their company. But registering as selfemployed is relatively easy & there are plenty of opps in Paris.
Also - depends on your visa. Student visas - you can work p/t, a lot of people gained a work foothold that way.
Hospitality, like everywhere, is crying out for staff.
Don't expect to get a salaried, f/t job in a profession or specialist area. Even with fluent French this is unlikely to happen.
Aim lower to get a foot in the door & build on that. Plan on a couple of years at least to get established/ build a network. Lots of jobs become possible thro word of mouth.
Thank you i learned a lot, i am coming with husband and our daughter.i will be doing my PhD .
Hi Rosie, I'm French and I have a Master's Degree in Human Resources as well. Your video was very interesting, I'm currently in Australia for a Business English course and I'm willing to find an English speaking job in HR when I go back to Lyon, my home town, in a few weeks. Please let me know if you have any other advice for French native speakers who want to work in English (the other way round) :) Thank you !
@@NotEvenFrench Okay I'll do so when I go back home, thank you very much for the tip ! :) PS : I really enjoy watching your videos even though I'm French, they are very funny and interesting !
Thank you so much for this. I’m currently a Recruiter in Nigeria with over 4 years of experience however I thinking of coming to Emlyon Business School to study Luxury Management & Marketing. What do you advice? I do hope I get a Job in one of the big luxury brands in France afterwards!
Cheers
Hi I was wondering how long did it take for you to get your work permit after you secured employment???
Love your ideas about what you can do, but how does one get a visa from that without already being there with a visa?
Hi, I love your channel 😀, I wanted to ask you why France? How did you have the idea of going to France?
@@NotEvenFrench I moved to the UK and your channel helps me to improve my English . I'm able to follow a lecture but sometimes I blank when it comes to speak with my British friend 😄
There are a lot of online jobs nowadays such as language online courses whereby classes are conducted via video chat functions (Skype, etc.) and freelance writing or editing. Salaries are paid via Paypal and other money transfer platforms. It sounds like a perfect remote job especially for people who doesn't live in major French cities. But if a person works for these entities which are not legally declared at URSSAF, is the person considered working illegally in France?
Merci Madame
Well I’m working in engineering and I know that if there is at least one non french speaker we switch in english. In research there is always a non french speaker in the team so we always speak in English. But there are some little counterpart ;) for instance when it comes to publish a paper in English it’s always the native English speaker of the team who is in charge to do it x’’)
C'est triste d'en arriver là. Un jour, on devra légiférer pour imposer l'usage du français en France (comme au Québec), un comble.
Hey! I have A2 level in french- working on B1. I am looking to work in france, but i am struggling to get jobs that would help me.
Is it better to move to france on a tourist visa and then try to find a job that lets you stay? How does the visas work ? I am currently teaching in south korea and would like to move to france once my time here is up.
Does anyone know any entry level or recent college grad science major jobs in France? Not sure what would they be titled as but I’m determined to to work abroad in France 😭😭😭
This was a wonderful Video, I have a couple of questions please. Can you help find a job for Nurse/Assistant Nurse, I have no knowledge of French Language. I am working in Dubai, U.A.E, and am good in English, basic Farasi (Iranian language). Please guide me.
Thank you. I am Canadian and even that wasn't enough to learn. I believe you have to be in a French Speaking Country and be thrown into the deep end. I also believe you have to be in France to find work.
!!!! ... are you sure to find any new job in a few years if you give so fine advises!
Great video!! As a French person with an international experience, I'm also looking for a English speaking job opportunity in France. Everything you said is true, it is crazy that most of the job openings are not public...
I really enjoy your videos and your channel!! Keep going!
Hey,
Which website did you turn to when translating your CV from English to French?
Also FUSAC magazine for jobs!
Those jobs are crap.
On 5:32 when she mentioned the French Market listings for English jobs, did anyone catch that French term? I tried Google but couldn't get it.
How would I go about finding work experience for say a week I am a film student and would want to shadow someone or simply “learn on the job” I’m from the U.K.
Any tips on finding English speaking masters programs in France?
Please I would like to ask you a question could I teach there in France with Ielts diploma ?
Hello How can I find out the legal Visa sponsorship Job offers in France? Please make a video on it.
Can we study french after moving to france or should we do it before?
Bonne publicité pour Lingoda. Pour moi, le meilleur est Assimil. Et je ne suis pas payé pour l'affirmer.
There's an English speaking job but the job description is in French, should my CV be in French or English. Can someone help plz.
Both! The person doing the first level of screening will likely look at the French ones, and above that the english.
