I just bought one of these for my 20 rounder because I backpack carry it for reasons and adding 5 more rounds to a 20 rounder is nice and it doesn't extend very far
@@3KindsOfGuns With some elbow grease, I managed to get the pins in. Not sure if they are actually needed though And yeah, I was only able to squeeze 4 extra rounds. But in a 20, it's better to have 24 rounds more and the extra length still fits in the backpack
Great video and great product. I have an ethos with these types of products: 1: never pay MORE for an extension than a 30rnd mag itself costs. ($9.99) yeah, pmag gen3 windows are $15-$20 depending on store, so that gives us a bit more price playing for the extensions. Like, why would I pay $25 to add 5 rounds when for the same price, I could have an entire extra 30rnd magazine. 2: add extensions to higher capacity mags to start with. So….my ar mag “collection” consists of several pmag 30 gen 2’s and 3’s…in which I add mag-pods or ranger loops for looks, accessibility, and as a mono pod for long shots…AND…I have a handful of pmag 40’s (gen 3) with these strike emp’s on em. 45 to go!! They are already wuite long so a bit more doesn’t go noticed. Why add 5 to a 30 when I can just buy a 40 to begin with? I have a literal shit ton of mags. And I ONLY purchase 1 okay surefeed (near impossible to find anymore and 100% only mag for 855A1 ammo) so D&H for usgi’s and pmag’s strictly. I do have 1 10 and 1 20 (usgi) for zeroing and etc, but usually just run a polymer 30 rnd. Boiling it all down, have over 100 magazines and they all are D&H or magpul. I have kept stock baseplates on the usgi’s as the ranger loops look kinda funny on them.
i just installed two of those on some 40 rounders. theres no way i could just snap it on like that with my fingers. i had to use a vice to push them all of the way on and the little tab on the base plate shaved mostly off.
@@3KindsOfGuns i figured they were alright because I saw a picture of a Ukraine sof guy using one on his ar so I guess they work. for $11 you can't go wrong.

Yup, a lot of people run them on 10 or 20 rounders. You may only get 4 additional rounds on a 20, and 3 on a ten.
@@3KindsOfGuns Cool. Any little bit helps

I concur. I am very happy with them! Have a dozen of them.
Does it really need the roll pins? Also how is the feeding with the standard mag spring? Feeding reliable?
I don't know if it really needs the rollpins, but I have 8 or 9 now, all with the roll pins installed, and I have had zero issues.
I want one on all my mags to help with extra space in the mag, not for extra rounds, but to help with closed bolt reloads
That's a terrible reason, but ok.
I wish they used a set screw and tab like they do on the Glock EMPs rather than two roll pins.
I agree, that would certainly be better. But the price point is pretty good.
Perhaps I got two Duds because the pair of emp's I own do not increase capacity on my 20 round of 30 or 40 rounds
Your saying they do not increase the capacity at all?
It didn't increase mine to the advertised capacity I was only able to get for additional rounds
It's going to increase the magazine capacity less on shorter magazines, due to the spring.

Weird. I have 8 or 9 of them, they all installed like in the video, no issues.
Did you getmore than 5 rounds in on the 40?
I just bought a few ×10 extensions from vendetta precision, and they look about the same size.
@@matthewd.1805 no i think i only got 5 extra in
Never added one to my 40s.
How's it holding up
No issues, I ordered 10 more, and haven't had a problem with any of them.

Are the pins really necessary? Looks like the spring plate locks in exactly like it would in a standard pmag baseplate.
I can't say that they do anything, because I haven't tried one without.
What I can say is I have a BUNCH of mags with these, and have had zero issues.
I had to slam it onto my work bench to seat that base plate in. 😅
Hey, whatever it takes right?!
Do I need to eat a couple of those ...
Damn just looked there $8.76 right now. On it !!
So far, worth it in my opinion!
Kalifornia is going to hate this.
Kalifornia hates a lot of things, I really hope Californians can be free some day!
Half a commie mag right there
Yup.
