I like this series, but I think it would be great if you could elaborate more on the "do you need it?" aspect for these technologies. Knowing what actual effects each technology has on riding/performance, and what kind of rider would benefit from those effects would help a lot in getting past the marketing jargon and understanding whether or not that technology is something you want.

You should do an in depth "forward lean explained". I see that feature being misused, to the rider's own detriment pretty much every time I go riding. My bud never used the feature on his bindings in about a decade.

Ok, I get what they are and do, but how would it affect riding if I used the stiffer drive plate with the softer hi back? What Bent metal would you recommend for the Doughboy? Cheers mate

You're creating a more personalized flex verse a uniform one. Which caters to you more directly based on where you need flex and stiffness. Probably the Cor-Pro.

@@AngrySnowboarder thanks, we're getting a big dump of snow right now here in Oz, I'll check out the Cor pro's before I head down next week. Wanna test out the Doughboy and get my swerve on :) Keep up the good work!!

There are so many layers between the feet and board: boot sole, binding base cushioning, sometimes cork or rubber board inserts, do we really need this extra layer? Is it able to dampen or drive anything in between other layers?

Go find some old horse shoe bindings and mount those up and then see how your thoughts change.

      Cool story bro.

@@AngrySnowboarder I must be hopeless, but I had to watch the video again to finally understand what the drive plates are. They are not EXTRA layer as was my thought initially, but reengineered base covers/footbeds. Makes sense now.

I have a friend who got these and the drive plate that in his rear binding, constantly comes out on snow while one footed (skating), the tabs just don’t keep it locked in. Could be a one off situation but i can see where he’s just gotten so annoyed by it, he is just riding without the plate on his back foot.

You know he could just get a new plate and if its a warranty issue all he has to do is contact them.

@@AngrySnowboarder thank you and yeah he’s started the warranty process. The plastic just changed shape on him and looks basically like a rocker snowboard.

This is an old comment but it’s actually your friends fault. Once you snap in the drive plate, you have to just push it forward to lock it in. I’ve never had one come off and I have multiple sets of bent metals.
