Need this to take off. I grew up with the flat trackers of the 1970s and 80s. Today the sport is all but dead, no small thanks to American Flattrack being committed to keeping this beautiful style in the backwaters of obscurity. Would be awesome to see high level RC flat track to give it a kickstart.
YES!!!!🤙🏻 first real racing action I’ve seen!! They will be great once the promoto tires are available widely!!! Love seeing them dip into corners and wheelie out!!!🤙🏻👍🏻❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
I tried 2 different tracks so far. Tonight i'll be testing on a short track. The sweet spot is running a foot off the wall all the way around the track
Loosening the slipper clutch helps a ton running on dirt oval. The slipper clutch is way too tight out the box for racing. using the spektrum program card to add more braking power helps too. We have been having fun on our oval track. Also as you said tales some practice. Not as easy as a RC car with 4 wheels. The Dirtbike is so much fun once you get it down and make slight adjustments.
This could be really good. the difficulty of recovering after bumping may limit how many you'd want on a track at a time. Great video. Just got mine and am loving it
@@james654100 theyve also only got a few packs of practice in. Its no different with buggys or any other class as your gonna suck when you first start to learn especially with something like this.
@@matthewh6242 all rc racing stuff is pretty freaking expensive so this being ready to run for like 400-600 aint bad for the tech its got in it. makes more sense it costing that much than some of the other stuff ive seen.
This is a great video! Watching a more experienced driver and a newer driver both go through a similar learning curve with the bikes is very interesting. Super impressed with the level of tech and the never-before seen quirks the bikes displayed from both drivers. If these bikes aren’t the next RC craze I’ll be very surprised.
definitely the next craze. How long that craze last depends on whether people have a place to use weekly. The vehicles i race i have been using weekly for about 5 years. This has huge potential.
Did you have them set to dirt mode? They shouldn’t wheelie much in dirt mode. It looked like wheelie mode. Also the brake adjustment for the front is important when trying to corner. Check out all the other adjustments too. There is one for how far it will lean over along with adjusting those side wheels. Great video as always
I couldn't tell you. I had it out of the box for about 10 minutes before that. Not bad results for thowing on the track. The racing will quickly get better
hell yeah me too! i wonder if some rear tyres with less grip could do the job. slicks may be too much but something with less grip so the back end can come out reasonably predictable would be awesome
Green bike is in the wrong mode and you have to brake before the turn , you also have to tune the the steering rate knob to help with the turning/lean. This rc platform does have a future.
Watching a couple of these Moto RC's video's now and yeah..., i believe you can actually do races with these. I want one so bad right now. This is literally for everyone and everybody🤩👌🏾. ✌🏾
Cool toy, seems like a niche audience. I sold the thunder tiger ducati nitro super bikes back in the early 00's for Hobbytown, the only place that I ever saw pick up a league was one track in Florida.
Looks like a trials or even road tyre would be better for that track. Looks like the knobby had too much grip for that track surface. But yeah very cool thanks for posting.
The manual states on page 11 the bike has a run time of 9-12 minutes & the Losi/Horizon rep sent me via email to let it kool down 5-10 minutes so you don’t harm the electronics for $550-$600 I’d think that’s not long enough - I haven’t heard of any overheating issues though
well its something i thought about too. It feels like spinning a bike wheel in your hands.. its hard to turn anything with a flywheel gyro.. but that also keeps it on 2 wheels
I have a few R/C cars and trucks in my stable. I've been watching a few videos on this bike. After watching this video, I think I'm going to pull the trigger on this!
It all has to do with how much do they crash, is it hard on the marshalls? Some track owners are very quick to judge something new and never give it a chance. Some tracks already have lots of classes that takes time to run so thats why i keep saying that.
just a standard size 2s lipo. We ran 4-5 minutes, the motor area was warm but not hot. My dirt cars run hotter than this bike.. can't really use much throttle.
I was the blue bike. It was in mode 1, offroad. mode 1 will wheely with no control of the wheely. The other modes control the wheelies either holding them, or shutting them down.
It was time for me to move on. It wasn't my track so i couldn't make the changes that were needed. I'm looking into finding new locations for the future.. we'll see, i love the mud bogs too.
Go into the ESC and turn the drag brake all the way up and zip tie the front forks all the way down it'll turn faster it'll change the angle of the headset try putting a wrap of electrical tape on the rear tire to see what it does if it'll slide the minute I saw this motocross bike run I wanted to see the flat track bike somebody's going to do it
Agreed.. people race everything, but to make it a class at the local track it can't be crashing all over the place. It has to look like it may be a competitive class.
@@OvalRC more likely track dependant than anything else. Drivers / Riders can get better but if tracks no good it won't make for good racing .. don't see any issue with the handling .. for dirt tho maybe skids instead of wheels could be better ? The plastic little roller wheel looks like it could dig in if it grabs
No way this will ever be a racing class. These things are Novelty at best. If you had 5+ bikes they would be crashing into eachother and hitting the corners and walls constantly
it's already a racing class at another track. This test was just that.. to see if it can happen.. and we found out it can. The guys had 4 minutes of track time. That's hardly enough to make a judgement. "IF" it takes off as a class.. it's going to be big.
im not a basher.. thats fun for about 5 minutes or until you break it. but thats just me. its a cool bike to do whatever. I'm not one of the big money making channels.. or you would see me destroy it to get views like the rest. lol.
you can run the bottom but it's just not fast. The guys are running the top because it will hold the speed. Its a ton of fun sliding into the corner a foot off the wall tho. Guys will find a way to make them fast. Thats what racers do.

tried to show the truth of what it's really like
Losi really did their homework on this one.
Definitely need more flat track racing like this. Awesome video guys.
will be more videos.. we may have a place to race these indoor weekly this winter too..
Can’t wait! Going to be epic to have 4-6 guys at once! 👍👍

I'm not sure if taking off the side wheels may help with bumping. Something we have to try
Staggered starts maybe ?
wait until they use the slingshot affect around the outside wall lol
Guy in the green was looking smooth
Upstate New York,,,would love to race these, probably say these motos are one of the funniest rc to control.
i think this is gonna be a future racing class. Id also like to see them do a smaller scale as well

Look like wheelie mode
It was Mode 1, offroad.
I later found out it was not in wheelie mode. They wheelie up a little when they get bite down the straights

just like the cars we race. We have to try shock limiters to lower the bike and make the suspension stiffer and try that.

join the Oval RC facebook group .. we are trying to get more for thursday night.. send me a PM
With a couple of jumps in the middle of the straights, one on each side , it will be a blast.

thinking maybe a pin type tire may work. The track is going to try different things too.. maybe a loose dirt track at the top would help.
Does the motor brake the rear wheel? Can you adjust rear brake bias? Less front or more rear? That would make it turn, not the front brakes.
will be interesting to see what other companies come up with on RC motorbikes
You have to adjust the settings to three or something to keep it grounded
MX needs high walls! Outside edge. Burns etc. They don't turn like cars so Im guessing you could hammer around with high walls..
Show 🏍🔥💥💨❤😍😎✌🏼👏🏻👍🏻🤛🏼

the motor felt warm but not hot after 5 minutes. Actually much cooler than my dirt cars. Probably because your not using much throttle
I think if you guys can find a way to slow to gyro down a little bit. It would turn better on your truck
well its something i thought about too. It feels like spinning a bike wheel in your hands.. its hard to turn anything with a flywheel gyro.. but that also keeps it on 2 wheels

That would be awesome to race fpv with head tracking. You just got to find a quick way to replace the batteries
I would so race this platform. Get back into RC
here's an idea, start a bike class, then in tandem, start a 'outdoor gym' where the workout is just marshaling for these bikes.
lol.. yes

ill be watching around the country at the testing and proving of the parts dumpster, and waiting for the 2nd version release.
I ran offroad track this weekend .. i can see some breakage happening over time. The Oval Track is pretty easy on them really
Wall riding seems very effective
Different tires will definitely help.

turn right to go left, It works!
these bikes come with a starting stand ? looks like the blue one dont have brakes !
i found out you really dont need the starter stand.. just start right against the wall on the straight
I want to see em race on a custom scale mx or sx track built for them
Would be awesome to see a motocross track , maybe stretched a bit
They need to turn the gyro down for tighter turns.
On back order.... noooo. I've been waiting...

the track needs to be a bit more dusty and everything will be perfect
Your gonna need a track with taller burms in the corners and then it will be competitive
the track owner said the same thing.. so we will see
