Sports I love playing Basketball, Martial Arts and other sports but when I playe a video game sports game I not that interested in it maybe its just how they are made or its just if I want to play basketball I go outside and play basketball.
This may not exactly be a genre, but it can be hard to get into free-to-play games, since while the games themselves are free, things like cosmetics cost money and when you have to purchase stuff to upgrade characters, then you know the game is actually pay-to-win...
what a stupid statement. why dont you just ignore the cosmetics? i have been playing LOL wild rift and never bought a skin. is this an american problem i cant relate to?
I would say Visual Novels since they are both criminally underrated but also require often times for the player to actually read. Which seems to be a rarity nowadays. Some of the greatest games I've played are VNs
how does that make it hard tho dawg. it's arguably the single easiest genre i can think of other than point-and-click adventures but even they require some thinking and problem solving skills
Ive played through Persona 5, and realized that i didn't care about the characters. I just played for the fighting. My son got mad when I got to the end and sided with the enemy.
Ok, this is fun. But how the hell you play an JRPG with combat sistem by turns cause of the fighting hahahaha if it was about an action RPG like FF Remake or Nino Kuni, alright, but Persona? The worst part of RPG by turns in the most of the games are the combat hahahahaha
I'm not the best at fighting games, though I do enjoy playing many rounds of Street Fighter, Tekken, Guilty Gear, Skull Girls, Mortal Kombat, Marvel Capcom, etc. as long as their are other people that want to play with ya, even learning tips from an experienced player is fun.
you forgot click and point games, kids will confuse with these type of games as you need to solve puzzles to proceed through the games so i find this is a hard to get into games
I'm pretty certain that most gamers would have a tough time getting into older Western RPGs like the Ultima games. That series generally leaves you to your own devices and forces you to figure out your objectives solely by exploring the world and talking to NPCs, all while managing your party's food rations, gold, and equipment and navigating the menus. Add on the fact that the franchise didn't introduce dialogue trees until Ultima VII, meaning you had to type keywords to ask NPCs questions, and that the UI, visuals, and controls aren't accessible by today's standards, and I very much doubt many modern gamers would get into it.
Nah, these ones is pretty easy. At least base mechanics are. Mastering a certain character is a thing in every game that has some sort of class system. And it always requires time. No matter how skilled you are, new things always require time.
no they are not. you say that because YOU ARE INTO jrpgs. i dare you to invite a non gamer neighbor play a turn based JRPGs with female cat ears. they will laugh at you.
I love JRPGs, Survival Horror, Simulations, and Shooters like Gears of War, however, games like Dark Souls, Lies of P, and BloodBourne are games that I have tried and failed at Epically, I just cannot slow myself down enough to get into a Souls born game, the intricacies of movement and strategy are not enough for me to really put any effort into it and I hate for my protagonist to be slow, now I enjoy watching others play those types of games and watch their talent as they fight their way through the entire game, I am impressed that most gamers who have the talent to play all the way through a game like Lies of P and not die are pretty awesome!!
For those who don't know, with Mortal Kombat games you only need to learn 1 melee combo and 2-4 move combos to be able to play and ever since Mortal Kombat X, you can tag the moves to put them on screen so you don't have to memorize them. Mortal Kombat is ideal for players who are only casually into fighting games.
This is a very valid list. One extra thing that I would suggest is the "visual novel" and the "pick your path" games. Many times, a lot of us go in blind playing the game and sometimes we may make the wrong choices which may yield disasterous results with either one of our favorite characters dying, all characters dying or getting the bad ending. Also, after playing the game, reading the stat guides online on how to get the good ending or how to save everyone, we end up spoiling the game for ourselves by learning what choice to pick or avoid. It's a double-edged sword.
Never got into any MOBAs. I played all the genres listed here in the video (except for VR because of the reasons mentioned), but for some reason I never really cared for MOBA's. Although I used to play a hell lotta Overwatch and I know that has MOBA elements to it.
CRPGs (computer Roleplaying games) should also be mentioned here. I beat the original Baldur’s Gate and still had no idea what I was doing half the time.
There's a subclass of strategy games that's really hard to get into: Wargaming Grand Strategy like the ones Paradox Interactive make (Crusader Kings, Europa Universalis etc). Flight sims have steep learning curves, too.
I got into Fighting because of Smash and I don’t remember when I got into JRPGs, but I think it was the 3DS Remake of Dragon Quest 8. So these video game genres aren’t really tough to get into. They’re easy to get into, but you have a wide selection of games to choose from. Except for Soulslike, as most games in the Soulslike Genre are FromSoftware games like Dark Souls, Demon Souls, Bloodborne, Sekiro Shadows Die Twice, and other non FromSoftware games like Lies of P and Another Crab’s Treasure.
Quest 2 is $200. I have talked a ton of people into buying VR headsets. The main reasons people can't get into VR is motion sickness and laziness. Motion sickness is a something most can't overcome and I totally understand that. It's a horrible feeling, I'm looking at you Star Wars Squadrons. Space can also be a real issue as well. Time and money are bad excuses for this list.
SingStar games (which has most games on PS2) and Let's Sing games are not hard games, because you chose song and start to singing on microphone (or phone, if you download app), sometimes you get good scores (if you love the song) and sometimes you don't get good scores (if you want try something different song that you like), because they are fun music genre games.
I don’t really see how fighting games could be hard to get into unless you are a VERY casual player. Yeah they are pretty heavy on combos and precise button pressing (for the most part) but I feel like I just always see the pattern and end up learning really easily, thus getting into it with ease. I feel like if you wanna start out with getting into fighting games titles Smash Bros or Mortal Kombat are generally more beginner friendly since their gameplay is piss easy to memorize compared to SF and Tekken.
Honorable Mention: *Roguelikes -They often feature random procedurely-generated maps and permadeath mechanics. Take for instance Darkest Dungeon. *Stealth -These games take are require patience. Metal Gear and Splinter Cell are among the frontrunners of the genre.
I got another honorable mention. Scrolling shooters, especially bullet hell shooters. Examples of these include the DoDonPachi series, Gradius series, Thunder Force, Raiden, Capcom's 19XX series, etc. MojoPlays forgot to mention that genre too.
JRPGs aren't that hard to get into. There's different types ranging from turn based to hack n slash to duengon crawler to MMO. JRPG is somewhat of a broad definition.
I don’t remember what my first JRPG game I got into was, but I think it was the 3DS remake of Dragon Quest 8 that got me into JRPGs. Either that or the New 3DS port of Xenoblade Chronicles 1.
A big flaw i find in this video is that it assumes that everyone plays MP, which is not even close to the truth. As for my two cents, i can't stand MMOs and card games (not the same as card battlers and alike). I simply don't care, it's not because they are "hard to get into" (it helps that i can't care less for online). RTS, specially old school (Warcraft, Starcraft, Age of Empires, Age of Mythology.....), i SIMPLY LOVE THEM. I never tried VR, so...this is not even a blimp on my radar.
To paraphrase Luke Skywalker, "Amazing, every word you said about JRPGs was wrong." Did the person (or the AI) who wrote the script ever actually PLAY a JRPG?
Hahaha glad I’m not alone with rhythm based video games. I sucked at HiFi Rush 😂😂😂 But yeah Soulslikes are not for me tbh, but fair play to those who love them 👍
MOBAs are more hardest, than Real-Time Strategy as its genre cousin. Give that unlike MOBAs, it gives you more time to think through and it’s not that slow!
Honestly I actually like Inscryption and I'm not necessarily a hardcore gamer. I played the demo and it is good but I don't have money so I can't buy it lol. But even then I'm not sure if it's at the top of my wishlist of what to purchase but it's still on their. I actually also have enjoyed simulator games for some reason, maybe because they're so oddly satisfying and fun IMO.
Yeah I really agree you bro! Some games like an easy 2D, 3D, Hack and Slash and RPG games got my interest, but hard games like some fighting games and a Souls-like games haven't got my interest any to even give a try. 😅
I don't know what "rhytm" is. I just don't feel it. Assuming you do feel it. I had better results in rhythm games with sound off. I mean it's just press the right button and the right time kind of thing. You can literally see arrows approaching and know what too press. I still sucked though because it was just too many keys to press.
Fighting Games are not hard to get into, mastering them are difficult. Point and click, Classic Survivor Horror, RPG Tactics and Turn Based Strategies are more difficult to get into.
I used to hate souls like games with a passion everything about it then a friend of mine kept pressing me to play Elden ring and boom 200 hours in Elden ring now lmao
Fighting genre for me. But not the Marvel Vs Capcom, Tekken, Dead Or Alive, and Super Smash Bros types, More like the Street Fighter, King Of Fighters, and Mortal Kombat types.

REALLY FIGHTING GAMES
THEY NOT THAT HARD
you Mojoplays are being lazy and panty!
Sports I love playing Basketball, Martial Arts and other sports but when I playe a video game sports game I not that interested in it maybe its just how they are made or its just if I want to play basketball I go outside and play basketball.
Soulslike games, MOBAs and RTS games
Can't believe mobas aren't on the list
This may not exactly be a genre, but it can be hard to get into free-to-play games, since while the games themselves are free, things like cosmetics cost money and when you have to purchase stuff to upgrade characters, then you know the game is actually pay-to-win...
It's not hard but smart not to play games coming straight for your wallets even when free.
Those games are just stupid and should be avoided, especially by children. They’re designed to make you addicted similar to slot machines.
what a stupid statement. why dont you just ignore the cosmetics? i have been playing LOL wild rift and never bought a skin. is this an american problem i cant relate to?
@@rhovenom04 It becomes a problem when they start putting things that are common to be unlocked behind paid walls.
You did well selecting RTS.
Your son needs to realize that your username isn't just for show and that the bad guys always win in real life.
😂
Ok, this is fun. But how the hell you play an JRPG with combat sistem by turns cause of the fighting hahahaha if it was about an action RPG like FF Remake or Nino Kuni, alright, but Persona?

MMO is pure timesink.
Way too much stuff in the UI for me, like I can't see anything once combat starts with 20 texts popping up.
you forgot click and point games, kids will confuse with these type of games as you need to solve puzzles to proceed through the games so i find this is a hard to get into games
You mean "point & click"? This is the first time i heard it backwards.
yes of cause i meant point and click or simply adventure game like monkey island for those dont know what point and click adventure games is
Pajama Sam is totally easy to get into.
I'm pretty certain that most gamers would have a tough time getting into older Western RPGs like the Ultima games. MOBA's should be on this list, if not number one. League of Legends, Smite etc.
Nah, these ones is pretty easy. At least base mechanics are. Mastering a certain character is a thing in every game that has some sort of class system. And it always requires time. No matter how skilled you are, new things always require time.
Get into an Ability Draft match on Dota 2… you will get destroyed
Honestly I agree with all of this except JRPGS they’re ridiculously easy to get into. I would have replaced that with shooters.
Granted shooters are easy to pick up and play/understand. Though playing online and learning the nuances and technicalities is where I do agree
I have a coordination disability so I worry I just wouldn’t have the speed.
Shooters is without a doubt the easiest franchise to play
Play R-type.
no they are not. you say that because YOU ARE INTO jrpgs. i dare you to invite a non gamer neighbor play a turn based JRPGs with female cat ears. they will laugh at you.

I absolutely love rhythm games. Just find it satisfying button smashing to the rhythm
Loved the humour in this video. And the part of sports games is SO REAL.
I love vr gaming so much (psvr and psvr 2)
The Souls games are technically JRPGs, Fromsoftware is a Japanese game studio, and the level up system, upgrade system, exploration , everything
I love music games. They turned me into a musician.
2:36 so true bout simulation games lol
Quest 2 is $200. I have talked a ton of people into buying VR headsets. The main reasons people can't get into VR is motion sickness and laziness. Who hurt you narrator? You can tell us 🥺
Hey man fighting games were some of the best in the 90’s! Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Killer Instinct, Clay Fighter, Soul Caliber…
I agree with Strategy being number 1. Although it is very easy to get into turn based strategy games like XCOM or Valkyria Chronicles.
I sometimes try to watch playthroughs of these games. And I'm not so much as interested in watching them, but looking them up on the internet
I've never been a fan of RTS games myself, although Halo Wars is pretty fun.
Yes is there any game genres and hard genre that I can't just seem to get into on the PS3 or on the PS4 or on the switch like Soulslike
A perfect match for me, I never tried any of this genre and not planning to start anytime soon
I don’t really see how fighting games could be hard to get into unless you are a VERY casual player. I couldn't get into the RPGs where the player character does nothing but stand there and take turns trading hits with the enemy characters.
How did stealth not make this list? I dread stealth MISSIONS, let alone full games.
Most Favorite Genre Fighting Games
Least Favorite Genre Open World Sandbox Games/RPG's
Honorable Mention:
*Roguelikes
-They often feature random procedurely-generated maps and permadeath mechanics. Take for instance Darkest Dungeon.
*Stealth
-These games take are require patience.
The other thing with VR is being able to use the headset. I've yet to find a VR that makes room for my glasses.
Souls games and open world rpgs (skyrim, Kingdom Come Deliverance,Red Dead Redemption2) are the best games
JRPGs aren't that hard to get into. There's different types ranging from turn based to hack n slash to duengon crawler to MMO. JRPG is somewhat of a broad definition.

Hahaha glad I’m not alone with rhythm based video games. I sucked at HiFi Rush 😂😂😂
But yeah Soulslikes are not for me tbh, but fair play to those who love them 👍
I've raged quit Elden Ring so many times that I can't stand the sight of it.
Rts is brutal and i been playing them since warcraft 1. Still lose more than i win online as much as i wanted to be good.
I’ve seen all from 1980-Now I would say Strategy would be the hardest for anyone
I'm surprised you didn't include MOBAs on this list. Maybe they fall under the RTS umbrella?
MOBAs are more hardest, than Real-Time Strategy as its genre cousin. Give that unlike MOBAs, it gives you more time to think through and it’s not that slow!

Good list 🎮
Really nice 1
The RTS genre is a genre I keep trying to get into, but I just feel that the genre just isn't for me
Me: ironically is first person multiplayer shooters. Played COD black ops 1 for one week in 2010. I said nope this genre of game is not for me.
I tried a couple times in the past but I just can't get into jrpg games, I guess there be way to much going on for me lml
I never got JRPGs. Games like Final Fantasy bore me. I appreciate that others find them fascinating and fun, but they’re just not my thing.
Whats the opinion on Arena Fighters?
Fighting Games are not hard to get into, mastering them are difficult. Point and click, Classic Survivor Horror, RPG Tactics and Turn Based Strategies are more difficult to get into.
Souls like is like an abusive boyfriend
I didn't even know there were 10 genres of games 😂
Too bad there is no mention of side scrolling shooters or bullet hell shooters. Examples of them include Deathsmiles and the DonDonPachi series.
What genre is Pokemon games considered?
Jrpgs
Weirdly listening to this video on my phone while playing lawn mower simulator 🤣
I've never been a sports person Real or Digital
For me most modern games are hard to get into. The reason is time.
Aww... you didn't put in Maple Story in the MMORPG's.
Sports and strategy games are not at all easy to get into. There are only a handful I like.
I'm a big Fire Emblem fan...doesn't it count as strategy?
I will never get into undertale or roguelikes.
Since they are pretty much their own thing, you could have mentioned monster hunter pre „monster hunter world“😂
Monster Hunter is a good game if you can get a group together.
I used to hate souls like games with a passion everything about it then a friend of mine kept pressing me to play Elden ring and boom 200 hours in Elden ring now lmao
FPS not even mentioned???
i sorry but FIGHTING GAMES
ARE YOU FIN FOR REAL!
I'll tell you this, I can't play MMORPGs to save my life!
Lies of P. Laxasia. Period.
My feet hurt!
Is it weird that I mastered many of these genres?
MMORPGs is peak of gaming
Nuh uh
MMPRPGS are not my cup of tea on mmorpg I played is Dragon Nest since the combat is peak
I could not get into VR games they make me nausea. mmorpg and jrpgs i can handle those. Souls born yeah tried it not good at it
awesomeee
I mean a lot of people do whine and complain about soulslike games for obvious reasons, skill issues😂😂
Sports games aren't what they used to be, i tried nhl24 and was underwhelmed. Maybe that is why it was free...
Point And Click
MOBA
Soulslike
MMORPG
JRPG
Souls likes
For me its 4x games..😭
No mention of MOBA?
Visual Novels aren’t on the list 💀
Just say no to drugs, narrator! And also: everyone loves madden! Maybe it's different for freaky-deaky soccer on your freaky-deaky island.
Aka every genre
Western RPGs are so hard for me to even care. I think O don't really love anyone
Sooo…basically every genre!
No not every Genre.,
@@redfoxbennaton I was being sarcastic
