I bought a 22 sel arteon three months ago. A started by looking for a small suv. I drove Audi Q3 and Q5, a Volvo xc 60, and a BMW X1. All cost about the same. Nothing drove like the VW and it had more trunk small than both Audi's, the most rear leg room, the most power. It was a VW company car with about 7K miles. I saved 7K over list price and gained another year of warrany as a certified car. It has been a joy to own so far.
Traded in my 2018 Passat and bought a 2022 Arteon SEL R 4-Motion, love it, excellent car for the money. Luxury with the VW batch, rather enjoy all of the accessory for less money. I've have owned VW's since 1990, great cars.
@@ateequechowdhry7130 no regrets what so ever, love the car. cons is the cell charge tight space and sometime does not work, another major cons is being rear ended fortunately nothing major, the shop was able to find all OEM parts from VW, I was expecting to take months since it is not a popular car in TX. kudos to VW, can't wait to be driving it again.
Beautiful classic looking sedan. Seen one or two in the wild and always catches my eye. Never owned a VW but rented a base Jetta during Winter some time back for work and loved driving it. The chassis did a great job of communicating what was up with the car at all times, made driving in the snow a blast. Might consider one of these when I retire.
This car is just beautiful. Coming out of an Infiniti G37 sedan, I really considered a Q50 red sport. I wanted something bigger but not an SUV. Kia had the performance, but small. Buick Regal Sportback GS no more and because my wife has a 2018 Audi SQ5, looked at S5 sportback. I have had my 2021 Arteon premium SEL since September and I am in love with it. People ask me about wherever I go. What I don't like is too much hard plastic, no HUD and that it's not a full R. VW wants to move upscale and is afraid to commit. In January I will be trading in for 2023 because I want the new engine. To me best value with all the features and style. Love your reviews.
I also have a 2021 premium r line. I just got the APR tune, 91 octane, high torque. Increased the HP to 360 and Torque to 375. Total cost $580 with tax. This car is now quicker than the 2023 model. It's only missing the DSG.....
I currently drive a 2020 VW Arteon SE in Urano Gray/Black and I love it! Unfortunately, I keep hearing 2023 will be the last year for the Arteon. I hope I'm wrong!... This is my third VW.... Great post, thanx!
A rebadged Audi is what this excellent motor car comes down to. Very quick, a bit pricey. But well worth the cost of admission. And a 13.3 second qtr mile is fabulous in this car. Source, Car and Driver. Lauren, PLEASE submit your resume to CD. They'll hire you on the spot! Then, and only then, would I buy a subscription. Your reviews are ALL fabulous!! Thumbs up, ALL Y'ALL!
I love the look of this car and almost brought one. I was not feeling the price point. I brought a 2022 Passat instead. I feel like for 10k less, I got most of the features and look of this car minus the Sportback, Speed and 4 motion. I still may get one in the future.
I think low profile tires make for more road noise. The wheel setup looks good but I would be nervous getting another car with such low profile tires in an area with pot holes.
The problem with the Arteon, at least in the US, is the fact that it was priced too closely to the Audi A5. VW really dropped the ball on this. Kind of sad to see it discontinued for 2024. I was hoping to grab a remaining 2023 model, but some dealers still think a 1-year old discontinued model should sell close to MSRP.
Excellent review! Thank you! I'd really like the Audi A7 but they are way overpriced. The A5 is so small - at 6'1 I could sit in the backseat but NOT even swing my legs into the backseat! The Arteon seems like my only option for a good German hatchback. Are there other options? I'm still keeping my Passat TDI for my son when he's old enough! ;)
I was close to buying one until a local dealer wanted to tack on over $4000 to the advertised price. I love this car but refuse to be victimized by dealer price games.
That's not an R. That's an R-Line. R-Line is just an appearance package, R is a true performance model. We don't get the Arteon R in the USA, only the R-Line.
@@mikedavern2155 ‘Very close’ still doesn’t make it an R. While the US model is unique in the fact that it has 300 hp, the suspension, seats, exhaust, and vehicle software are not that of a true R model. It’s called an R-Line for a reason
Good looking sedan not long for this world. Those wheels look great but man so little meat on those tires mean bad ride and probably flats all the time.
VW offers a wheel/tire warranty package for $6.60 monthly when you purchase or lease the vehicle. Will repair or replace any wheel or tire damage, including scuffed rims or even bent wheels.
Too bad I can't share a pic of my Arteon... This is the most underrated car in the US market... The features I have on my premium Arteon, you will have to pay at least another $20K on another premium vehicle and you will not have the lines and unique look the Arteon has
Not sure about the tire size.. sidewall looks like a sheet of paper. I see expensive repairs for suspension and wheel replacement. Other then that looks really nice. To bad it’s in its last year in the states. Probably the nicest looking vw they make.
Too bad it has those capacitive button looking things on steering wheel. At least VW just announced errors of their way and they will go back to normal buttons on steering wheels.
🇺🇸 my son tennis coach bought this brand new vw ARTEON... in the shop 3 times in first month. Not shifting into D, power seats won't work, nav malfunction. He's not happy and after 5 months wants to trade it in for something else. He said there are other issues but didn't have time to bring it to vw. Not another vw. I won't even go into my toureg v8 issues years back. HeLL! Vw design is nice, but reliability is crap.
I own 3 VW 2019 MK7 GLI with DSG trans IE tuned 45k, 2020 Arteon APR tuned 25k and a 2022 Tiguan Rline Nuespeed 12k not a single issue thus far. They're great cars just don't expect to get 200k out of these. I usually trade around 80k-100k. My MK6 GTI lasted 170k before I had a timing issue and was sold as is.
Lot of car for the money. Pretty quick too
