Hello Michael, I really want to thank you for the guides and the info that you gave it to me, about how to practice and prepare for the real test. I have the exam for 6days latter and I am trying to memorizing those templates. You are absolutely a great advisor. Thanks :D
I just got my TOEFL results and I got 27 in the speaking section and all thanks to you Michael! Really, your videos helped me tremendously. However, I'm pretty bumped of the results. I got a total of 101 and my reading results are surprisingly low (22), this was such a shock because I read English novels every week and I read scientific papers almost daily, I don't know what happened. What can I do to improve?
Well. Kathy Spratt has a book about the reading section that I always endorse. You can find a kindle version on Amazon. Otherwise, you need to practice with actual tests, not novels and papers. As I emphasized in these videos the TOEFL is very formulaic, so you will benefit from practicing with stuff that fits the formula. The two "Official Test Collection" books have ten practice tests that should keep you busy.
Hello @Toefl Resources, First, thank you so much for providing such useful speaking templates. Though I am a bit late at this, I have my test tomorrow i.e. 1st June and I got to know these templates now. Anyways, I am trying my best to get a grip on it and give my best. I have one question here: Do we have a few seconds break between each question during the actual test or once the question 1 recording gets over, we are directly given the second question and so on? Thanks!
Hi .....i have started following toefl resources and i love these videos and the way you make each and every thing so transparent....love the way you mention about templates ..... i am having problem in taking notes in conversation section , by the time i start writing reason first the conversation leads to the second reason .... i am not able to match my note taking with the conversation ... please help ....Thanks.
I do love how you taught the way to make a note. Could you make a new video for "A template of note for listening part" as well? Thanks! I think it will improve my weak listening skill and also my noting skill :((
A lot of the lectures in this part include only one example, and it makes it hard to divide the example into two parts according to the template you have presented. So, I'm asking for a template or a sample answer to a question with one example, if it's not too much trouble. Thank you in advance :)
They might only have one example, but they usually have two clear "parts." That is why I suggest that you cut up the answer like that. Look for a before/after or a cause/effect relationship in the single example.
Hello Michael. I am wondering if I am able to borrow vocabulary and sentences directly from the listening part. I've learned from you that we should paraphrase the reading material, but I am not sure what to do with the listening one.
Hello. First of all thanks for all the resources for TOEFL. Given that you are an expert, I want to ask if it is possible to pause during a toefl ibt test in the speaking session. For example i finish question 2 and proceed to question 3 when they are still anouncing the instruction(not the question). Is it possible to stay there for a moment and then proceed when you are ready? or is it all automatic and will proceed whenever they finish reading the instruction?
Hi there! I just read the guidelines and I took more than 1 minute to read it. I guess at the real one, we have to sinthetize properly to be able to speak everything within 60 seconds.
Some TOEFL teachers recommend to avoid the using of academic words, such as "moreover", "consequently" etc. in the speaking section and advise applying more colloquial language. They suggest that it helps to sound like a native speaker. What's your opinion about that? Thank you!
I think you SHOULD use these words. I wouldn't even call them "academic words." They are pretty common transitional phrases even in everyday conversation.
TOEFL Resources yea i had my toefl exam yesterday i got an advice question but the question itself was much more extended(unnecessary extension)where I wasted 5 seconds.:( same happened with second question. 15 seconds is so less for people like me who's not at all a english speaker. However integrated tasks were better.just missed a sentence but i covered most of the important topic in the lecture. hope I'll get some average marks rather than low one's especially for speaking section, because it was the only section where i felt empty
@@Toeflresources hey i got 95 in toefl !!!! can't believe R:23,L=28,S:21(as i said still a better one right?) W:23. Is it a good score?. Please do reply
My weak part of English is speaking. And I agree with the author of the channel. I have been listening tons of videos and lectures in English with sub so I can recognize almost any word in listening section. So it had become piece of cake to pass listening. But I am speak to little, that's the problem which traits to my low speaking results. One way to achieve high score in any section of the TOEFL test is practice , practice and practice!

Good stuff. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Yeah, you get a few seconds to catch your breath.

I was told that the conclusion should be in every speaking section? Is that so?

I don't think there is a template that can help with that.
you wrote in second reason " the bird can can only ...." ? is it missclick or i dont understand something

To be more clear, I mean to simply repeat what the lecturer has said. Also have this doubt for Speaking Q5 and Q6.
If you can remember what the lecturer said you can repeat it.
The reading time is very short and I can't manage to skim and note down the definition and the topic. Could you give me some tips to overcome this?
Honestly, I think it really just takes practice and fluency.

Sorry, when I wrote guidelines, I should write the example of an answer given.
Note my response a moment ago to your other comment.
Thank you
You're welcome 😊
question 5 and 6 please
Question five just went up. Question 6 will go up at about October 15. You can watch the 2017 edition in the meantime. Nothing has changed, really.
TOEFL Resources Thanks for the clarification.
can you tell me what volume is good for practice because there are many? and did they offer answers? thank you
What do you mean by volume?
@@Toeflresources I think he means the quick prep toefl volumes

how many papers will they give to a TOEFL test taker ?
Probably three. They will replace the papers if you raise your hand.
description??
Sorry. I am on a trip right now and will insert all that info in about two days.
Please can I chat u personal
Why did You repeat too many times the word PREDATOR in your answer to the sample question?
Good point. Less repetition is always beneficial!
Thank you for your critical work! I'm preparing for the test in 2 days, how couldn't I watch your video earlier?
It is my failure to promote the videos that caused the delay! I blame only myself!
It is impossible to understand a passage and take 2 sentences within 45 seconds
Keep practicing.
what if the professor talks about his own experience. where he gives only 1 example (eg- teaching)
Usually there is a natural point where you can cut it into "first" and "second." Listen for a before/after, cause effect or comparison break.

It´s really hard to make all notes about the lecture. People need to be a expert and advanced in the listening. My listening is so bad :(

man this example is so difficult. ugh!
Yeah. It is a hard test. Just keep in mind that the example is meant to be like a "perfect" answer. You may not need to be "perfect" on test day.
