My smile looked fine, but I had an overbite that was causing my lower teeth to “erupt” or move to try to touch the back of my top teeth and it was causing pain. Got about 6 months of braces left!
I’m curious, does it feel uncomfortable after fixing the bite? Me too. It makes me sad that people put themselves and their children through years of painful treatment followed by a life of retainer wear without so much as blinking. All because the dental community succeeded in convincing us that everyone NEEDS perfect teeth and a perfect bite. If everyone put all of that money, time and effort into improving their character and education and helping others, the world would be a much better place. I always found it really hypocritical that parents will slam cosmetic braces on a kid and then turn around and tell that same kid to love themselves when they want a boob job, nose job or the like. Hypocritical much?
I think this is a lovely sentiment, however this goes beyond loving yourself. A bad bite can and will affect your overall health. A bad bite can lead to gum disease, TMJ, and headaches, worse than that is the uneven wear on the teeth can cause tooth decay and chips in the teeth that can lead to infections in the root of the tooth. Plus if all of that isn't enough, bad bites can also end up affecting digestive health and overall health, like the close relationship between dental health and heart health. Unfortunately a lot of these issues are beyond cosmetic, although as someone with a bad bite myself, the cosmetic effects are definitely a bonus of the treatment.

Yeah, I never had any issues with my teeth except a small overbite, I only had one tooth that was f-ed up because I injured it badly when I was a toddler and it grew in weird, but I noticed my teeth looked so much better when I was finished.
I've always suspected that I have an overbite but this confirms it. My teeth overlap completely and my top teeth actually touch my bottom gums when my mouth is closed. Sometimes my lower gums actually swell up because my upper teeth rubbed them the wrong way
honestly, a lot of people didnt realize it mainly because of the camera angle. the camera was angled from up to down and you can only really see the open bite teeth for a fraction of a second.
wish I had that kind of teeth. I hate my teeth so much, the four in the front on he top have gaps between them and it's hideous. My teeth being naturally a bit more yellow than most people dosent help either. The worse thing is I can't get braces because my teeth grew in super late so I haven't lost all my baby teeth so even though I'm a (young) teen, my dental age is 9.
I had this same thing happen with me. I had an underbite and with braces, an expander, and getting four teeth pulled in 2 weeks, my teeth are better than they have ever been!

The “PUHHH” was so on beat
The “PUHHHH” will never get old😂
Yeah, I never had any issues with my teeth except a small overbite, I only had one tooth that was f-ed up because I injured it badly when I was a toddler and it grew in weird, but I noticed my teeth looked so much better when I was finished.
my entire life i thought it was called an overbite
Why just why her teeth are just so perfect😂
I've always suspected that I have an overbite but this confirms it. My teeth overlap completely and my top teeth actually touch my bottom gums when my mouth is closed. Sometimes my lower gums actually swell up because my upper teeth rubbed them the wrong way
DANG THATS SEVERE😭😭😭
My front teeth covering 98% of my bottom teeth:
honestly, a lot of people didnt realize it mainly because of the camera angle. the camera was angled from up to down and you can only really see the open bite teeth for a fraction of a second.
wish I had that kind of teeth.
She is gorgeous
And then theres me who has an 80% overbite that makes me look like im always grimacing
My mom's a dental assistant and I knew she had an open bite when I double looked at her smile 😂
You are so good at explaining everything ❤️❤️❤️
The fact that the PUHHH was on beat 👌👌👌
Teeths are really complicated, makes me wonder why i wanted to be a dentist in the past
Her smile is so contagious
I recognized the open bite before the explanation because I've watched the Bentist so much lol
