Bring tears to my eyes and heart ❤️ to hear her breathe and holler. Oh how I long for the days at grandmas home the echos from whissles far off in the valleys coming from PA into Southport NY. Each conductor had their own way of hollering grandma could tell who was running the train from their hollers. One particular would piss my grandfather off, I asked grandma why is grandpa so mad, oh dear she said that is jonesy he wanted me to marry him but I choose your grandpa instead. Gosh the things that stick to mind after 63 yrs I’m 68 now. They had cabboses back then too on every train.
I just found this engine surging the web. I want yo get done of these shots and if course take a ride on her. Been researching and finding a lot of operating steam.
Chris Sanfino It looks like it. GIves that old fasoned setting you want to have with an old steamer. The trestles particularly the one by the covered bridge when it comes through that cut is an awesome shot. Probably going to check this one out in two weeks. Thank YOu.
At the beginning of this excellent video, several cars are shown playing "chicken" with Engine 98 and her train. The W&W should have someone standing in the road to protect the crossing when the run begins. In Chattanooga, TN the TVRM has its people perform this duty at several crossings when one of its engines takes a train out of town.
This is one of my favorite W&W videos. Some great angles, and I love that locomotive! I'm anxious to see her run again.
Thanks William!

Wilmington & Western is a railroad for memory. It's a great gurney to ride on with trains.
Great memories of my childhood!
Awesome video! What whistle did 98 have

That wood dale covered bridge shot how accessible is that area?
kflannigan98 You can drive over the covered bridge and park on the grass for a few minutes. I didn't have any problem when I was there
At 7:53 what location was that?

Chris Sanfino Or install gate arms.
American 98 shines.
Indeed. Thanks for watching John
The engines seem to be going slow and huffing a lot here?
