My brother and his buddies were big metal fans, our building had drawings of Eddie and he would bring cassette tapes of various bands home. To this day, you're still one of my favourite bands. I live in the southeastern USA, in Georgia and all we get down here is "typical constant repeat classic rock". Iron Maiden was only played on VERY special occasions like when it was literally 2 min to midnight or for a pre-concert warm up on the radio, and this was back way before even CDs were in vogue! UP THE IRONS MATE!!! 🤟🤟🤟🤟

a few years ago i was staying at a hotel in venezuela and coincided with the same exact dates maiden were there on tour.....I was working....suit and tie type of job, so i looked nothing like a metalhead.....I saw Bruce at breakfast and wanted so bad to ask him for an autograph....but he gave me a glance that left me petrified as i cautiously approached...i know they love their fans, so i basically assumed my outfit made me look like the enemy lol I couldn't muster the confidence to interrupt his breakfast for an autograph......it kind of hurt you know, being this man and his bandmates are basically heroes to me (so much so that i ended up quitting that job and answering my true call, and took up music full time)....but i will never forget his presence....he had this invisible greatness about him and even though I had dreamt of meeting these guys and telling them how 7th son was a life changer for me....i couldnt cross the invisible barrier surrounding him....id love to have a trooper with him some day .....and finally get that autograph lol
I’ve actually had the same thing happen to me not with Bruce but someone else. It’s actually the polite thing to do. Never interrupt someone dinner for an autograph I’m sure he appreciates not being interrupted.
Doubt it was the shirt and tie. Bruce had to dress smartly when he was an airline pilot, also hence the short tidy haircut in those days. He knows the score, probably just didn't want his breakfast interrupted - I know I wouldn't!!😀
