@@melaniechiriacescu7876 She straight up said she made most of it around November because she said she recorded some of her re-recordings in between these. She said she wrote "closure" the week before the election and "happiness" right before the album was released in December.

I think it’s high time Taylor’s vocals are more appreciated. Just because she doesn’t have as big a range as someone like Ariana has, DOES NOT mean that she is not a vocalist. When that woman decides to go low, she goes low. And all her breathy vocals and her ability to put so much emotion in her voice throughout the numerous depressing tracks on Evermore is impressive!
Her songwriting abilities are impeccable. When I listened to both Folklore and Evermore, it was so hard to believe that this is the SAME one who wrote Blank Space(not that Blank Space, by any means, is a bad track)
I love how Taylor is being so free with her songs. I am SICK of 2 minute tracks that have saturated the music industry this past year! Like, let us feel the music please!
She's an amazing lyricist! The woman is a poet that can sing. I've been alternating between folklore and evermore for these last few days, and the lyrics... gods, the lyrics are sooooo good.

im filipino so im already a fan of tons of vocal athletes from my country who have this amazing range but i looooove taylor's voice so much. she's amazing. her artistry, her mind, her songwriting. she's it for me. plus i also understand what she's singing bc of the clarity, the pronunciation and her delivery. the emotions she puts in when singing the songs SHE wrote because she knows them better than anyone.

I absolutely agree, I've been waiting for musicians to actually start breaking up the music again, aka leaving the extremely heavy sounds at least a little. What I have to say though, Taylor for me is not a 'mainstream pop star' because all her work had this added value of meaning. Can't speak for reputation as it was very heavy with the production... But 1989 even it's as pop as pop album can be, it's still kind of different sonically and definitely stands out from the 'normal' pop for me.
PS: Talking about the sonical aspect of the albums, not about the meaning or artistic value ✌️
1989 was the album that actually got Taylor in my radar. It's not that I didn't know that she existed, but she was someone I didn't actively listen to, nor search music by. I'm not a huge fan of Reputation, but Lover and these two have definitely established Taylor Swift as a musician/singer/songwriter I listen too.
reputation even tho it has badass songs and some sad songs, all of them had meaning, about her life and how she’s come back and was iconic because she started to fight back after the media bullied her hardcore. Thats why reputation is so special to swifties

1989 was my favorite non-country album from her until Folklore came out. I don’t like every song on 1989 but it had this similar simple but good storytelling vibe. But this Taylor is my favorite now since her country days. She got me back.

I’ve said for a long, long time that when it comes to many artists I listen to, I fully prefer stripped down versions of their songs. Taylor and an acoustic guitar or a piano is my favorite.

Please do the whole album! But I definitely recommend doing it in order for the story of it. I really liked folklore but wasn't obsessed with it like a lot of my friends were, but man, this one... totally on repeat since it came out! 🤍
Edited to add: There are tons of easter eggs and connections throughout to other songs and and real life, and I love seeing other people do the work and point them out, lol, because honestly I'm loving the direct story of the characters of this album. I'm really hoping for at least one reactor to really get into the story!

i am so glad people are starting to love taylor for the artist that she is. as a swiftie of many years, i've always loved her especially for her poetic lyricism and amazing storytelling (because that's one of my fave parts of music.) but damn I'm so glad that people are noticing how underrated her vocals are! (and in general how creative and versatile she is beyond the singles she releases.)

I love how you pointed out that it's not about what critics want from the album, but what the artist wants from the album. If you happen to see her interviews, Taylor always wants to tell a story - that it's a nagging feeling for her to write. Even if reputation and 1989 was an unexpected era for other people, she is always able to break it down to when it was originally written, which makes her a Queen
Before the premiere, Taylor revealed on the live chat that there are scenes that represent 4 songs: exile, mirrorball, seven, and mad woman. The video also has scenes that represent all 4 seasons.
Exile: “I think I’ve seen this film before”, which represents her continuing the scene from Cardigan.
Mirrorball: When she is standing in the glass box trying to prove herself to everyone. If you look closely, the scene with the “fireballs” are also mirrorballs!
Seven: When she is playing in the tent. Fun fact: her love interest was a dancer on her Red tour!
Mad woman: When the witches are doing their spell.

There's something about evermore and folklore that whenever it's your first time listening, it leaves a bit of mystery into your head, and then suddenly you want to listen to those songs again, and again until you finally get the full picture and LOVE the song.
