I almost threw away my wedges. Thank you for this video. I'm going to attempt to save them on my own 💜

I just saw your video and I would like to repair my shoe that just broke, when u put the cement do you put on the top/straps side part of the shoe too? In the video I saw u only putting cement on the side of the sole/heel, Thank u!:)

Yes, that was bad editing on my part. You put contact cement on both sides that will be touching. Wait for it to be dry to the touch. At that point you can close and apply pressure for 24 hrs or you can warm the glue up a bit with a hair dryer and then close it up and apply pressure. I never do the hair dryer and it seems to work fine. thanks and best of lucks on your repair!

Hi i have a quick question. Would it work for a Mary jane style heel like actually got slightly unattached from the heel platform. So unlike the wedge the shoe actually has a heel that is coming off slightly.

Hello, you may want to apply "Shoe Glue" you can get it at many places, including Home Depot. It is easier to apply if only a little bit of the heel is separated.

Hello! Got a bit of a strange question for ya. I've got a pair of shoes similar to the one in the video, but the insole and outsole are *not* separated. Rather than 'fix' them, I want to do the opposite- I want to remove the insole completely and replace it with a new design of my own.
Basically, the existing insoles of my shoes are garbage. It's a nasty, faux patent leather that's cracking inside and out, and the look is horribly outdated. I've been looking all over for advice on removing the insole, but all I'm finding are videos like yours (doing the opposite of what I want). Got any advice? The insole is stuck pretty tight. I'd like to avoid damaging the cork if possible, but even if that's not an option, I can do a cloth 're-skin' of the outsole if need be. Either way, I still need the insole off.

you may want to use a solvent like turpentine to soften the glue holding the insole prior to attempt removal..(check local ordinances as it may not be legal to get this solvent in your area). here is an amazon link www.amazon.com/Klean-Strip-Green-QGT69-Turpentine-1-Quart/dp/B009YO35BE/ref=sr_1_8?crid=2JA34XUQSBQF4&keywords=turpentine+pure+gum+spirits&qid=1656890513&sprefix=turpen%2Caps%2C130&sr=8-8
try not spill on the rest of the shoes.
alternatively you may try this product. I don't have experience with it but it says it does not leave marks on leather so might be worth a try...

I would imagine the cork is only a veneer as solid cork would not stand the torsion/weight of walking on it so it most likely is a plastic base like on this platform shoes.
      Best of lucks!

Does anyone know if you can paint the cork heel?
I have a pair I want to match the color of the heel to the
top ,so it's all one color.??
    Thank you.

Why do you have to let the cement dry?

Any brand of contact cement would do. this particular one is called Weldwood and can be found at Home Depot. You can see a close up of it at minute 1:14 in the video. thanks
