Best-Synthetic-Oils.com I just looked under the motor oils tab and found it but the product application tab doesn’t make 5w-30 an option for the 2017 F250 Power Stroke. It only lists the 10w-30 or the 5w-40. Wouldn’t the 5w-30 be a better fit for northern states? Ive been using the 5w-40 SS for the “5w” but the 40 is more than what I need as I don’t use blended diesel fuel and I don’t do a lot of heavy towing or severe conditions. Would you recommend the 5w-30 SS for northern Utah?
@@FlatPlaneCranky I personally love 5W-30 diesel oils, but none of AMSOIL's 5W-30 products meet the newest Ford diesel oil technical spec for the 6.7 engine because they either contain too little phosphorus (DHD) or too much (HDD). AMSOIL's synthetic base oil in the DHD product is better than using more phosphorus to prevent wear, but Ford has their spec. That's why AMSOIL can't recommend the 5W-30 products. If I had a 6.7, I'd use 5W-30 DHD.
As long as the CK4 oil also meets the new Ford WSS-M2C171-F1 diesel engine oil specification, you are fine. All AMSOIL diesel oils meet this spec. If you are interested in purchasing AMSOIL products at wholesale prices, please contact me at info@best-synthetic-oils.com.
T5 is a synthetic blend oil, and AMSOIL doesn't sell a blended diesel oil. T5 in the 15W-40 viscosity meets the new Ford spec. I would encourage you to try a lower viscosity full-synthetic oil (like 5W-40, or even better, a 5W-30). The lower viscosity oil will allow your injectors to function quicker for better performance and quicker starts. The full-synthetic formula will provide better protection than a heavier conventional oil.

I looked for a diesel 5w-30 and could only find a 10w-30....does another manufacturer make the 5w-30?
AMSOIL has 2 different 5W-30 diesel oils: The Signature Series Max-Duty 5W-30 (product code DHD) and the older Series 3000 5W-30 (product code HDD).

Best-Synthetic-Oils.com thank you for your recommend!
So what Amsoil type and weight would you recommend for my 6.0 Powerstroke?
Nathanf W. AMSOIL 5W-30 HDD, or the new CK-4 5W-30 that will be released on Feb 6th 2017.
Thanks for the reply. One other thought. For my O6, I tow an 8k fifth wheel. Would your recommendations still apply.
Nathanf W. Yes. The full synthetic 5W-30 is great even for towing.
wanted to know If I can run the new CK4 type of oil on my 04 6.0
