British GQ and Jim Chapman. As avid and keen suppliers to the textile industry throughout the UK and working with our customers in a range of industries, it really is great to see yourself and also, GQ promoting British Manufacturing and also how garments are actually made. We go through this on a daily basis and want to spread the word on how much time and effort goes in to making products/garments that have such design and quality put into them. Hope to see you at Meet the Manufacturer at Brick Lane, London in May!
as a girl who likes to play around with different looks, this series is really useful for me. loving the intro into men's fashion. thanks jimmy chaps (: also its really interesting to see you in a more formal capacity. your videos are usually pretty casual by comparison. i like this side of you.
+Jim chapman I love your coat,it is stylish and it is very suited well on u. No wonder u r the top male model for best look(for what ever your were up for again ,because I have forgot😊)
Garrett Gonzales You just must not live in an affluent business area. There are very many of these stores where people are willing to spend hundreds on a shirt.
Do these shirts factor in wrinkling? I will wear a shirt and despite pressing, simply sitting down in a car will create nasty creases on the back. Any advice or material to combat this?
Stop saying that "the material and man hours" are the reason these shirts cost more. That's not accurate. It may account for a fraction of the cost, but only a fraction. The main reason they cost more is because of marketing and branding.
You're right. But, a company can't say that out prices are high because we've used marketing to inflate the perceived value of the product. They have to say there are logical reasons like material and man hours.
Plus competition from high street clothing brands. Their products are cheaper so more people by it. Plus they are modern and easily accessible for the ordinary shopper. Established traditional shirt makers that charge a lot because the vast majority of people aren't aware they exist as most people are used to high street shops and if they shop for expensive items they think flashy designer brands are the best. Old and established clothing shops make business with men who are discerning and are confident enough to shop in such stores which appears like gentlemen's club. Because of this sales aren't high so prices go up to compensate and the salesmen have to over stress the quality of the product to justify the high price point.
i'd guess that it also might be because they pay their workers properly. and how awesome is it that they encourage repairing rather than replacing timeless pieces.
"...button down collar. This is best left undone..." meanwhile the expert being interviewed has a button down with a tie in a posh environment. I guess these rules aren't hard and fast.
You rarely get what you pay for...you get a name plus modest quality. Remove the name and then try to sell it for the same price based purely on quality
Comparing episode 1 and 2 shows what London tailors are famous for. It's the suit, not the shirt. Suits from Savile Row are made from scratch - individually for every customer. Shirts from Turnbull & Asser are of good quality but at the end of the day you get a product that many people wear as well and probably does not fit you perfectly. A suit from Savile Row is art, these shirts are only very good. To find real bespoke shirts, nowadays continental europe ist the place to go.
NewWorldOrderFAIL I am not wearing bespoke shirts since I feel I can't afford to pay more than 200 Pounds for a shirt. My shirts are from Emanuel Berg for example. Gino Venturini in Vienna is from what I have heard an excellent bespoke shirt maker.
Collars won't be right - look like department store cheapies despite being immaculately cut from the finest fabrics and stitched by people with 20 years experience.
There is no logic in the price of those shirts. It's *purely about the brand.* Wear what fits, from the shops that have your favorite colors. Simplify life, instead of wearing out the mind about shirts.
It is details that make the difference between people, buying quality things is an investment that takes thought, but works out for you in the long run
mary davis Oh so you're saying based on his viewing figures of his vlogs walking his dog, brushing his teeth and changing his clothes he's justified to act like he's as famous as Matt Damon or actual people that have real talent? *smh*
+Crab Bisk Whether or not you think he's full of himself and acting as though he's as famous as Matt Damon is beside the point because everyone is entitled to their opinions, but I feel like he actually does have a modicum of real talent compared to the vast majority of other "famous" vloggers out there.
+K Lu Im not so sure about Crab Bisk. Any how check out Jims dog shes so cute cant Crab Bisk watch it for what it is a daily blog Well how things are going for him he will be more famous what with his review videos and his model work
“I’m really strong”....”you’ve worked with some pretty incredible people...and now of course, ME” ....obnoxious and distracts from the topic of the video. A dose of humility would do you well sir
Bette and Kathleen. What a couple of babes.
i love this series so far jim 🙈

Love this series Jim even though its for boys lol
+Jim Chapman love this series so much Jim! great job

Now THIS is the England I like to see!
JC, I love these GQ episodes you're doing.
AWESOME CAN YOU MAKE MORE THAN JUST 3!?

LOL when he said "this shirt would feel like BUTTER" to Jim of all people hahahah 7:08
hahahaha...that's hilarious!
I'm from the Caribbean & find British GQ very interesting & funny at times.....
Love this series learned so much in just two episode. Making the men in my life watch these too!
I love Jim's episodes because he make it more interesting
I've got shirts that are 10+ years old and they're still in great shape. You get what you pay for.
Do more of those! they're really good videos, entertaining and educational about clothes. I'd like a series about eco friendly or fair trade brands.
These are great, please do make more we love them
Yet another great episode!
Good job, Jim and GQ. You make a good team :)
Totally cool about the collar shapes! That is so much work to put together just one shirt! No wonder they are pricey!
Loving these GQ episodes, great work Jim. :-)
Turnbull and Asser also make bespoke shirts. I think the minimum order is still six. That gives a better fit than factory made shirts.
These are great!!! Keep em coming! :D
They should do a episode like this on dress shoes like oxfords.
Amazing show ❤️
+Jim chapman I love your coat,it is stylish and it is very suited well on u. No wonder u r the top male model for best look(for what ever your were up for again ,because I have forgot😊)
Excellent advice
The Ladies were so nice!
Very interesting. Thank you. 😊🇨🇦
Everything is well explained for men’s wear, wish there was a few for women’s wear.
If u know let me know.
Makes me wanna put on a suit!
I wish we had more stores like this in America. Back when men dressed like men. Now the commercial businesses have taken over.
Garrett Gonzales You just must not live in an affluent business area. There are very many of these stores where people are willing to spend hundreds on a shirt.
I just go to Uniqlo and buy every color of Oxford shirts they have for $20 a piece. I have 6 of them now.
Some things are better built the old school way. That's why they are called a classic. They last.
Please do a new episode about coats & jackets
great!!
where can i buy this brown coat its freakin beautiful
It’s Burberry
What Burberry coat are you wearing?name? Link?
Do these shirts factor in wrinkling?
I will wear a shirt and despite pressing, simply sitting down in a car will create nasty creases on the back. Any advice or material to combat this?
Does anyone knows what's the song called in 0:35?
I am sorry but where did you buy that overcoat you were wearing?😅
I'm a girl... I have no idea why I'm watching this... Love Jim tho
This was an unnecessary comment.
Does anyone know what brand is the coat he's wearing?
It's Burberry.
Alex Sigurjónsson if you can't see that, you aren't supposed to wear one - just saying
3:38 imagine if he slips in his Burberry jacket
What about linen?
Wept alittle. I need one of those !! Heck I need the factory

The Truthful Channel ah yes, who can forget all the Turnbull and Asser billboards, TV ads and sponsorship deals plastered all over the place
The fact that they are made in the UK and pay a UK living wage must account for some of the cost.
I get a McGregor vibe...
is that connor mcgregor?
where?
MORE
What about dress pants and shoes
I thought Sea Island Cotton was no longer produced to to a weevil. Perhaps it is just a marketing term.
How much
"...button down collar. This is best left undone..." meanwhile the expert being interviewed has a button down with a tie in a posh environment. I guess these rules aren't hard and fast.
It's actually not "right", but yeah, whatever you feel comfortable and confident with, you should wear.
Please do shoes!
Was anyone else waiting for the Kingsman store?
8:00
Same music as the hitman chiropractor.
Those two women were lovely haha
1:16 So that man's job revolves around fashion and suits, yet he sits down with his button done ? Poor
did you just say there are three types of collar?
He look like Danny O'Donoghue
You rarely get what you pay for...you get a name plus modest quality. Remove the name and then try to sell it for the same price based purely on quality
There are way more collar styles though
The husbands of those women must look dashing!! My lord I need a wife from there. 😍

Jan Markus Schütz then where do you go for bespoke shirts?
NewWorldOrderFAIL I am not wearing bespoke shirts since I feel I can't afford to pay more than 200 Pounds for a shirt. My shirts are from Emanuel Berg for example. Gino Venturini in Vienna is from what I have heard an excellent bespoke shirt maker.
go to Rubbinaci Naples, they understand.
Collars won't be right - look like department store cheapies despite being immaculately cut from the finest fabrics and stitched by people with 20 years experience.
He looks like connor McGregor
Shout out to Otis McDonald
1:24 - Or you simply don't give a s**t and wear that shirt, you bought because it was nice, anyway?
The shirt guy's pinstriped outfit looks ridiculous. He does not look chic at all.
That guy Liam Devanney XD hes overdressing with lots of patterns that look confusing 0.o
He should have gone with a more subtle shirt with that suit. Or alternatively worn a more subtle suit and tie ...
K Lu He's showing what their brand can do, like how at fashion shows they often go for patterns that don't traditionally go so that they get attention
unbutton the jacket when seated....again here we see the classic mistake over and over again....
I find British men love super tight clothing while in American we love loose and comfortable
No, the most important thing in wearing a white shirt is to not spill curry
18 years and only assistant store manager. Yikes. Tough gig.
There is no logic in the price of those shirts. It's *purely about the brand.*

2 bucks per wear is a bargain now?
between 450-550 for a shirt.
To show the novacheck like he does is anything but classy : /
what in the fuck is Liam Devanney wearing in this video.
This unknown dude is way too full of himself.
+Crab Bisk unknown = I think his viewing figures disprove this - check out his blogs
mary davis Oh so you're saying based on his viewing figures of his vlogs walking his dog, brushing his teeth and changing his clothes he's justified to act like he's as famous as Matt Damon or actual people that have real talent? *smh*

I think those jokes about being famous were tongue in cheek.
+K Lu Im not so sure about Crab Bisk. Any how check out Jims dog shes so cute cant Crab Bisk watch it for what it is a daily blog Well how things are going for him he will be more famous what with his review videos and his model work
a bankrupt shirt maker at that..
There's America and England the two worst countries
I'M SO HAPPY I DELIVERED YOUR 80 DISLIKE👎
