I signed up for tallkpal, but am confused by it. I watched your video and it explained how to use it. Even the talkpal sight did not explain this. So GREAT job
Talkpal is a practice tool or a reminder to the language rules. A teacher is still useful because it have a designed structure to language learning with priority based on your language level
Hi Asa, I came back to watch this some more. The one thing I am having trouble with TalkPal is that I am somewhere in the A2 level. Maybe like A2.2. So conversing with Emma is tough for me. TalkPal does not teach any grammar or vocabulary sets, but other sites do for free (shout out to SpainishDict). I have been learning Spanish for going on 2 years now and not having much luck with conversation. I think TalkPal possibly could be a big help for me, but also hard for me for awhile. Maybe TalkPal could function as a Lab session, like at a university, but better. I will give it a go and thanks for your help.
I'm having the same problem.. i told the app i was beginner and it starts talking to me at college level with no explanation of the words or grammar... this app maybe requires a few years experience already?
Thanks for this review. Might have to put this on the back burner for chinese which I just started but could be useful for brushing up on my Japanese as well. I definitely wasn't expecting this to be an all-in-one solution but seems like a very useful tool. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the kinks will be worked out as they continue to develop this. Do you think beginners can still get good use out of this tool? Maybe with an anki deck on the side for vocab and an app or book for additional vocabulary and grammar?
Yes I think beginners can definitely get good use out of it, combined with something like Gemini or chatgpt too it's great which you can also speak to.
From your experience, is it justifiable to pay extra money for this service when we have something like GPT 4o? What extra/ unique features would this service added over GPT?
I would probably stay with the free version from my experience depending on your level, it is great for intermediate and higher levels and possibly worth paying for.
I agree with you. This app is just a front end for GPT , framed by great ideas for learning a new language but very poor implementation, with almost zero focus on idiomatic an language particularities. The corrections I observed were superficial.
It corrects very superficial things, nothing worth it. How is it possible that if I am speaking it corrects me a coma or an uppercase, pleas, I'm speaking, not writing
Does seem to be a little issue in terms of it giving you feedback based on written language when your input was spoken. Nobody uses punctuation out loud. It’s got very high potential though. Have you used teacherai? It’s more expensive but designed by polyglots I think. Interested to see a comparison.
I disagree, chagpt always makes big mistakes transcribing the sentences. It also generally have an english accent. Other cool stuffs is having a button to know errors i made and also i can say a word in english without a spanish sentence when i don't know the spanish word and it transcribe everything to spanish
It's an interesting review. Thanks for sharing. We are also working on the AI reviews, so you guys may want to check that out. Lemme promise you won't be disappointed.
Would it be possible to have voice conversations with this app and ask it to help me learn another foreign language? For example Turkish? As if it was a real person who happens to speak both English and Turkish fluently?

I'm happy you found it useful! 😁
Call mode is the key. I hope the developers focus a lot of attention on that
Thank you. This is the only TalkPal demo I found. Really useful.
Very underrated video. grateful for your effort. thanks a lot

Man yiu did great things thank you so much for your time and your effort
I am looking to fine a good ai for my school but if you are a total beginner it is a waste of time it is only good if you are good at it already.

9 time of ten chatgpt transcribe my sentences wrongly
Thank you for this video- it was super helpful!
i'm glad! You might enjoy my other AI teacher reviews if you liked this one!
So, the app corrects you incorrectly.
yes sometimes haha
Thanks for the video, by the way@@EnglishWithAsa
Should be retitled....Why AI won't be replacing language teachers anytime soon! 🤣
It corrects very superficial things, nothing worth it. How is it possible that if I am speaking it corrects me a coma or an uppercase, pleas, I'm speaking, not writing
Hey Asa, can you ask it to speak about specific things, like if I wanted to chat about some historical event? I guess like an in-voice chat gpt?
Yes it's possible 😊

@@MattDPritchagreed and I haven't used it, I will check it out!
@@EnglishWithAsa awesome, best of luck with your channel mate.
Great review! Not too rushed or biased.
Thanks for your comment!
If buy premium, does the program allow for to switch between target languages without any additional fee?
Yes you can, I also made a video recently about teacher ai!
Why this app doesn't correct me with the voice during conversation or speaking regarding opening the feedback?
It has quite a few glitches and mistakes still unfortunately, definitely shouldn't rely on something like this yet.
@@EnglishWithAsa
have you ever heard about the Praktika and Leya AI English tutor app? And what do u think about them?
@@roaamohammed88 I have heard but i don't know too much about them to judge.
You need Hi native premium to balance out the mistakes from this AI
This course looks borning. I will check out some other ones.
I want to improve my English and I want to reach a B2 in English this year. I'm looking for an app, I hope it can help me.
yes it could help a lot for b2!
Thank you ❤
Thank you!
How much is the tax in its three month course?
I'm not sure I think that depends where you're from
Can I reach C1 with this app? Thanks
It's definitely possible! Also using other methods.
It's good
Very good bro❤
pretty useless app. I'd say you'll be better off just using chat gpt instead.
I agree if you are a total beginner is a waste of time
@@UrmammalovessushiBut I think this sounds more natural than chatgpt.

No problem 👍
What if i don't like Vicky haha
Haha maybe you can change
Would it be possible to have voice conversations with this app and ask it to help me learn another foreign language? For example Turkish? As if it was a real person who happens to speak both English and Turkish fluently?
Yes you can ask questions in English like "how do I say this in Turkish?" But sometimes it hasn't worked as I wanted haha
For me a useless video. I expected you to try every feature not show and talk about it. Anyways
So bad explains nothing or demonstrates nothing
