  • What is simple living? Simple living is about you being happy in your life. You being able to choose to do the things that you want to do. When you're living a simple life you have the freedom freedom to do what you want to do when you want to do it. How do you do that in this crazy busy complicated world?
    Goose Pond hideout with Rob
I get a lot of questions about how do you live simple in today's complicated world. Questions about how to do that. People like to say I have to have nice clothes for my job or I need to have a nice car or there's no way I can do this or that. But you can so what are some things that anybody can do given their situation? Wherever you are in your life right now what can you do? The absolute number one thing that you can do that I do that anybody can do is this.
Goose Pond Hideout is about being self sufficient and independent in an everything is going wrong world. You creating a fun happy lifestyle of freedom. Goose Pond Hideout is the life you have always wanted to live. Your dream lifestyle.
My goal is to look at self-sufficient homestead living in a humorous way. Freedom through laughter. There is so much gloom and doom darkness in the world and I want to put a smile on your face.
I'm not a funny man. But I know the importance of laughter.

Absolutely right Rob. I’m retired and have all the time in the world but I love my slow cooker. Those dump and go meals are great. Homemade soups, gumbo, chili cheese bean dip, etc. So easy and tasty. And best of all, leftovers for a couple of days. But I do like to cook too…when I feel like it. 😂😂

Beans and wienies is a big favorite in my house. Its rare for us to eat anything I didn't make. Tonight I bought 3 frozen pizzas (24$) because we spent the afternoon/evening at a good friends moving meat chicks and digging potatoes, so rare to have store bought pizza.

We buy frozen pizza at Aldi. They are something like $2.79 each. We have several in the freezer and occasionally have one when we are meal-prep lazy. We put a little extra cheese and toppings on before cooking.

@@GoosePondHideoutWithRob yeah I should have gone across town and saved the $ but I was ready to call it a day and have 2 extra kids on top of my 4 so I went with the first store in our town. We pay for conveniences for sure.

Go back to the 50s when everyone was poor, we thought packing a lunch and having a picnic was big fun. A simple lunch tasted so much better outdoors.
I'm veg. Veg soup is the way to go to get a bunch of vegs in one meal.

Life did seem simpler back then. It's the point I'm always making, we don't need all the trappings of the complex world.

Good video. On my daily 2.5 mile walk I stop at McDonald's (which is the halfway point) for a Senior coffee at 64 cents plus refill. I have good conversation with the other Old Farts and head back home. I rarely eat out as I'm a carnivore and grill out 4-5 times a week. I've tried to simplify my life.

You tube and television on politics are driving me nuts.
I never eat out on the road for 30. Years I had all the eating out I need.
Food quality has really went down even in grocery stores 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Exactly. I can throw a frozen dinner in the microwave and heat it up. Which is what a lot of restaurants do today.
