I am living in Tampa for about 30 years . I am from Europe , and I find it horrible that there is not a good reliable bus system . If you do not have a car or your car is in the shop ,you really are stuck . Tampa is so spread out with a down town which mainly consist of banks and insurance companies. So - it’s in the car and out of the car . For me that is a big “ con” . No wonder there are many traffic accidents. 80 year old people still are driving because otherwise they can not even go to buy
    groceries.
I agree that if you are into water activities- Tampa has many options. And if you do not mind driving a lot you might like it here.

@@allaboutlivingintampa3996 Tampa is slower paced than Miami meaning it’s ideal for raising a family, but still has the feel of living in south Florida. I was born in the Bahamas so growing up in Miami (coconut grove) was similar to growing up in the islands because we almost had a neighborhood for each island in the Caribbean, Tampa slowly has given me that feel over the years. The only reason I left Miami is because I found a job after graduating university offering more money and homes are cheaper here. Anyway, Tampa is now beginning to feel more like south Florida and I love it. We recently moved from south Tampa to Wesley chapel (new Tampa) and we are absolutely loving it.
