    Hi everyone, i am that guy from Ireland that reached out to Sam, and he was brillant he email back with REAL answers to my questions. Great information for me and my family. Before Sam emailed me all i knew was that if i had a few million sitting in the bank i could move to florida and live!!!! I could not find a single site that was able to help a person from outside the US get real information on the costs to living. Thanks again Sam

    I lived in tampa for 10 years having a car is a most. The bus system sucks and I agree with you have to make $65,000 yr due to you have to make 3 times for rental. And if you are like me a single mother of 2 teenagers and making $38,000 yr you are going to struggle

    This was a very helpful and informative video for me. I visited Tampa this month for surgery at the Norman Center, Memorial Hospital. I was there for 3 days and really liked Tampa a lot. I enjoyed the downtown area where I stayed especially. I hope to visit for a vacation next year and since I've retired would like to consider moving to the area. Thanks for a great video.

    This is so informative, I recently discovered your channel and love hearing about living in Florida. We live in DC metropolitan area and are sometimes thinking of moving to Florida. I agree on the comment with Whole Foods. I myself eat very healthy and go to Whole Foods every week and shop mostly for sales/promotions being currently offered, and when I do that, prices are cheaper than my local grocery chain store.

    Renting in st Pete. 2600 a month rent. 1100 sq foot home with 3 bedrooms and a garage. 110 a month for 1 gig internet. Not sure about other utilities yet. Me and BF make over 200k a year and it’s kinda expensive but manageable. No kids.
    Food delivery from wholefoods for 500 a month. Y’all must be eating organic carbs only.

    I’m thinking of moving to Tampa this year from NY. My job has an opening and I’m thinking of taking it. This scenario with 65k if for a family of 5, so I’m assuming that even to rent making 45k a year for a single person will be great and comfortable living. Whats your opinion?

    • @EAJ1980
      @EAJ1980 2 года назад

      Chiming in, I would not take it. You are making more and on the back end will pay off where you are. Moving here you will need a car, insurance, maintenance etc and living in the outskirts will be a big expense. With five kids you also you want to consider the schools districts.
      I'm a native and have watched the waves over the years. Though it's not impossible think about what you may be giving up to come here financially and even culturally. Tampa is cool but to enjoy the postcard version of Tampa at least try and negotiate an equitable salary to what you make in NY. Best wishes!

  • @gilesdj
    @gilesdj 2 года назад +1

    Good info and budgeting advice but amount seems way low to me. To live comfortably in Tampa, $65K would be per person in a multi-income household. If you're single and want a house, plan to make over $100K. ...and that's if you can find a home under $300K, also assumes you don't have other debt to pay off.

    • @LivinginTampa

      Thanks for the input, it really depends on your lifestyle.
