Thank you so much!! I learned a lot.. recently, I almost give up on my project and to tell my client that I cant, but after watching this, I feel motivated! It helps a lot..
Hang in there. Sometimes a project may seem overwhelming because you are looking at ALL you may need to do. My suggestion: Place the long list of tasks aside. Focus on one thing at a time. Get it done. Then, grab one more item. Eventually the list is done. I personally don't like seeing the whole list at one time either... its kinda paralyzing.
In a month when i have more time i am going to just binge your videos, i just wish i had done this before this semester because I am drowning not knowing much about revit ughhh your saving me with you to the point quick videos, also your humor makes me feel better. Thanks a bunch.
hi, thank you for the great explanation, i was wondering since i am a newbie, if my detail items folder doesn't have as much components as yours, can i draw those details manually and implement them to the detail item folder.
Yes. You can create your own detail components families. Anything you need. But Revit ships with about a zillion of them. Load the ones you need into your file or template.
Charles, I made all those. they are Easy Peasy. You only need to make them once... Once you make one... you can use it in any project if you add it to your template!
@@miketaylor-fantastic thanks for replying, for some reason revit didnt upload all the detail item families for me but I found them in a different folder so I've been manually adding families that I need. Your video was super helpful I feel the hardest part with most things is finding a good workflow that is repeatable and your video helped me get there regarding detailing details for the firm I work for. Making the transition from autocad to revit has been a big learning experience. Thanks!
Yes. Another person asked about Detail Components with Parameters also.. so I will make a video! I hope you are well. I am based in the United States, but I can help people everywhere!! :)
Grasshopper!!!! So great to hear from you! You can make many ‘groups’ for the Details. You can make: Roof Details, Stair Details, Etc. I think I have a video on how to organize your Views into Groups!! I’ll check and then let you know what it’s named.
my college professor dont even come close to you, You are one of the best revit instructors here, thanks.
his mental instability made it easier to watch. thanks for the tutorial man :)
Definitely!
He's like a teenager in a 60-year-old body! Whatever!!
It helps me cope with Revit
I wish I had a revit professor like you
He’s an amazing teacher. I like him and Balkan Architects both of them are amazing. Hey by the way are you an architect?

Excellent advice on detailing which is a huge time consumer for any project.
Thank you for the videos. learned a lot. just learning using revit this past few days
Thanks Mike it was very informative video, I need these families , from where Can I get those revit libraries?
The Revit libraries (all categories) are free to Download from Autodesk.
@@miketaylor-fantastic i have installed those but i didnt get nominal cut lumber section detailed elements
A nominal cut lumber detail component is really easy to make. It’s just 4 lines around the perimeter and and X. Make one is my suggestion. :)
THE BEST EXPLANATION EVER💯👌
Excellent video my bro, valuable info!

Sifu, how do you organize the details in groups on your browser? For example, a group of wall sections?
Grasshopper!!!! So great to hear from you!
