      Can someone explain the RUclips policy and how it relates to educational/historical videos on firearms? I don't get what the problem is and every time I ask I get attacked like I'm defending something I don't even understand. I am not defending the policy; I don't even get the policy. Each time I ask this I get a highly charged response that seems like a bad faith explanation of a policy that's more political than informative.
      My understanding is the magazine size has something to do with it, but I there are tons and tons of videos with people shooting select-fire weapons with hi-cap mags. To reiterate: I'm not defending the RUclips policy or any policy for that matter. I'd just like an explanation that tries to explain the policy from Alphabet's perspective (as if a lawyer were explaining it to a skeptical judge).
      It seems like, whatever the policy, there should be exceptions for a video that is educational. I've been a long time fan of this channel and how Ian avoids lecturing on politics or policy. Whatever one thinks of firearms and their role in our society, they do exist and they do have an impact on us and our history...for the good or bad or neither.

    The upper handguard is machined from nylon while the lower handguard is molded. You can buy only fair or dark nylon bars, and the dark is this ugly blueish. I was doing reverse engineering on this rifle so I kinda know. This is more sign of cost saving on tooling than anything else as they never went to high volume production. I was told there are 8 prototypes including all rifle, carbine and LMG versions. And a batch of 70 pcs was made for export to Thailand. I had a chance to handle all the variants. Both rifle and carbine when I was doing the reverse engineering and this piece from CZ collection. Feel free to ask.

      The policy does not state that shooting full auto guns is prohibited. It forbids content intended to SELL certain items (including high capacity magazines) or to otherwise instruct users on manufacturing firearms or converting semi auto firearms into full auto. The example that forbids holding or handling a firearm applies to LIVESTREAMS, not recorded content. So some observations with the Utreon platform:
    1. The video froze 5min in and I had to close the window and restart everything.
    2. I couldn't use the video progress slider to move back to the 5min mark. I had to tap the +10sec icon 30 times and as I did, the video quality progressively dropped from 1080p all the way down to 360p.
    3. The UI was confusing when I tried to change the resolution back up to 1080p as it doesnt pop up when you are in full screen (at least on mobile)
    4. Even in 1080p the visual quality looks more like 720p and the video is grainy.
    5. I got an ad for the 1997 version of Final Fantasy 7. Not the remake but the original 25 year old game. Just weird.
    In conclusion, I would never watch videos on Utreon consistently.

    It would be great if you could do a video on the Czech grenade launchers. They had some very interesting lightweight high velocity (relatively) grenade launchers, in both the Soviet 30mm & prototypes in US/NATO 40x53mm. They were very promising in theory, but seemed to disappear in the cuts of the 90s/early 2000s.

    So basically RUclips's own policies are going to render them superfluous as there are other platforms that don't restrict content

    I actually kinda like the blue top cover.
    I've seen in footage of Russian infantry using AKs, they often hold their supporting hand at the magazine rather than the handguard. Seems like it would be less stable, any reason why they do it?

    A question. Is it possible to manually wind up the drum mag as it reaches its last 15 to 20 rounds? Maybe that will make the feeding more reliable?

    • @AtholAnderson
      @AtholAnderson 2 года назад +1

      Now I may be wrong (and someone correct me if I am), but I think if you were to ‘rewind’ the drum...if it’s the style I’m thinking of... it would also pull the follower back, which of course means the rounds aren’t going to feed at all.

      @@AtholAnderson Could wind the 'base' the spring sits on, this would tension it more and push the cartridges up with more force

    A pretty cool AK variant, shame RUclips got pissy about some shooting footage, It's not like we get shooting footage every few days on the channel. Just RUclips being RUclips I guess.

      I suspect youtube restraining non-american gun manufacturers. Especialy now that Nato realised they need to adopt stronger ammo like 7,62mm due to progress in bulletproof vests, in which CZ has huge lead.

    • @atomic...
      @atomic... 2 года назад

      It could be because of some of RUclips's policies, I believe they dub a machine gun as anything that can fire in full auto and if it can accept a 30 round mag, I'm not too sure on this so I'd have to fact check this.

    Is this a new Yubitubi rule? Do they no longer allow videos demonstrating firearms usage? Interesting how they also used luminous paint for their night sights a la Yugoslavia in 1966. I'm kinda surprised they didn't incorporate the tritium vials in the CZ2000.

    Although Utreon would. not allow me to sign up and comment, I watched the video other there. I found it entertaining that at 12:06 Ian demonstrates significant muzzle rise on full auto, only to follow it with the statement "but really, minimal recoil that has no significant effect on your ability to control and aim". I suspect that he meant on long bursts, but it was still pretty funny.

    I watched the live-fire video. When I was in the US Army, I qualified expert on the M60 (back when one could qual on the M60 in basic training) One of the problems with many SAWs of the older style is the rapid on-off-on in full auto. Notice in your shooting video, the only time it failed to feed or "jammed" was when you were in full-auto and you quickly fired a short burst, let off the trigger for just a split second and returned to full auto fire? That would happen with the belt fed M60, too. The "rule" was never fire less than 7 rounds, let off the trigger and return to firing. There was something about the timing and the short FA runs. We were instructed that if we did fire just a few rounds to wait a second before pulling the trigger again. We were not told why other than "It will cause the weapon to malfunction".
    Maybe this is one of the reasons it jammed during the live fire (other than the use of the drum).
    I don't know. It may not have anything to do with it, I just know it would jam on the M60 if fired in such a manner (I'm talking about the Vietnam War-era M60s. I have not fired any of the newer versions.

    Hi Ian, very nice video. I just want to tell you, if you are interested, what "Uhersky Brod" means.
    "Uhersky" means "In Hungary", because "Uhersko" is czech term for old Hungarian empire (1000 - 1918).
    "Brod" is czech fór "river cross" (not bridge or ferry but on foot or with carriage).
    So "Uhersky Brod" means "River cross in Hungarian empire"
