I was fortunate to live near an alpaca farm and factory in Marin County where their wool was processed into clothing by a community of downs syndrone adults. I used to visit them often...a wonderful experience.

So much fluff! These animals have so much happy energy and spirit in them. Just look at how they hop around! :)
Fun Fact: Newborn baby alpacas have no immunity to human germs. They get their immunity over time from their mothers. That's why there are no "petting zoos" for baby alpacas (or certainly shouldn't be!) Later on, as they get older, they can be petted. Some like it , some are so-so and some don't care at all for being petted. They are individuals, just like us.
