Regarding Rocky's parents--in "Rocky V," Rocky reveals that his dad left them when he was a boy. And there's a cut scene in "Rocky Balboa" where Rocky chats with Steps and reveals that after his father left, his mother deserted him shortly thereafter. And there's yet ANOTHER cut scene in "Creed" where Rocky is talking to Adrian about his father, which heavily implies the father tried to get back into Rocky's life after he became big. According to Stallone, Rocky and Gazzo are contemporaries. They both grew up together so Gazzo kinda looks out for Rocky. Tony, let me tell you: DON'T run up the steps of the Art Museum. Just keep moseying up them like someone with some goddamn sense. The whole point of Rocky running up the stairs was to show how strong he had got during training, cause even he couldn't do it the first time. But us normos are all like, "Pfft. I got this." I ran up them and it messed me up for the whole rest of the day. So just walk; you'll get to the same place. Stallone didn't really "show off his body" in "A Party at Kitty and Stud's." It's more that he was sleeping on a subway bench because he was homeless in 1970 and some producer offered him money to do the film and he did it. After "Rocky," someone with a print of "Party" called Stallone and tried to blackmail him. They said something like "Unless you give me a million dollars, I'm gonna put this out." And Stallone fired back, "For a million dollars, I'll remake the damn thing with sound!" then hung up. And because Sly told him to go screw, that's why there's an "Italian Stallion" version now. Mickey is NOT Irish. Mickey is revealed to be Jewish in "Rocky III." Boxing matches used to be 15 rounds, uniformly. But after someone got killed in the ring, they shortened it down to 12 rounds. Sometimes fights are just 10 rounds now as well. But back in Rocky's day, they were 15 rounders. Rocky doesn't floor Creed for "a second." If Rocky hadn't been jumping around and not going to his corner like he should have, the ref would've counted Creed out. It takes him way longer than 10 seconds to get back up but the ref isn't counting; he's pushing Rocky back and telling him to go to his corner. What nobody ever notices is that Round 15 is only like 90 seconds instead of a proper 3 minutes. Rocky would've had Apollo if there were a few more punches, but the round was truncated. Regarding the original ending of the movie: the ending that's in the movie now is not the ending they originally shot by any means. The original ending, which is of course the poster image, everyone decided that it was just too bleak. It was a little cold, ending with Rocky and Adrian walking away surrounded by all the trash in the Spectrum. So the producers got some money together and they came up with the ending that's in the movie now, which was far more uplifting. There was no fire; nothing to do with a fire. It was all about just how downcast the first ending was. Rocky and Adrian didn't even tell each other they loved each other in the original ending. "Taxi Driver" came out in February 1976 and "Rocky" came out in November '76. They shot Rocky in 28 days, so they had all seen "Taxi Driver" when they made "Rocky."
Chuck Wepner, the Bayonne Bleeder. My family lived in the same building as him on Kennedy Blvd. He actually ran into Stallone when they were filming Lock Up, as Chuck was incarcerated at Rahway Prison at the time. Chuck was supposed to have a role in Rocky II but it didn't work out & he never got compensated until the 2000s.
Hack The Movies- Great work--as always. I'm a big fan of the 'Rocky' movies & coming from somebody who was born in early-1989, this franchise is one of the first I ever watched as far as sports-related movies are concerned. Also, I had to laugh when the title said "Required for viewing by Italians in Philadelphia" because I happen to have some Italian in my ancestry, but, I'm from Illinois. Be that as it may, I loved this review.
Rocky is the best film I ever saw the first film I ever saw on channel 11 back in 1991. This is the greatest film of all times to me all the sequels on channel 11 and all sequels off channel 11 never seen it on cable though, but you know, but you know I’m glad you’re doing movies on it. Thank you. Hope you do the sequels.
Ok, I’ve gotta give you guys credit. I’ve watched these movies like 100 times, but you guys provided a fresh perspective as actual Italians who picked up the nuances. Trisha was great at noticing Italian and Sicilian words/names. Frank was great at noticing how Rocky sees the good in people. And Tony is just great.
Yo, Tony. You need to do all of the Rocky films. I've watched pretty much all of your vids sept the one about the dogs and it's all dogs on set.. can't do it pal! However, you said you have already done some Rocky's on Mint salad.. sorry mate, I can't sit through a vid listening to a half baked bird!. yes, I'm sure she's a nice girl and she appeals to 13 year old boys with those mummy milkers.. but you really need to do all the films like you did the Alien films. I've watched the over 8 hour vid over 10 times when I'm cook and doing other mundane stuff like that. It's worth it. Like many other film reviewers they do the same stuff but I actually find stuff to torment my wife while watching film with fine but fun facts. Keep up the good work GB
1:33:23 - The spider pit scene from King Kong is a myth. While the scene was in the script, it was never shot because it was deemed too expensive. The still was taken from test images of puppets/models.
Boxing rounds used to be unlimited, then 15 rounds starting in the 20s, then after this one boxer died in the 80s going into the 14th round, rounds got reduced to 12.
I didn't know John. Avildsen had died. He used to have a RUclips Channel (I can't find it now). I interacted with him a couple of times on it. He uploaded his director's cut workprint of Rocky V on it. (You can still find this on another channel.) It's a lot better than the final version.
There was no Rocky game for the NES. In fact, there is a surprising dearth of Rocky video games. Not counting PC games, the only Rocky games I can think of are one for the Sega Master System and one for the Playstation 2.
The story about Italian’s and cheetah’s is… back when we were called Romans we captured a few took them to the coliseum and it was a disaster… too fast… ate Caligula, and we had to let loose a bunch of European Bears and hope they caught them… it is why cheetah print is worn to commemorate the lives lost that day 1,977 years ago.
i don't know about you guys, but i would really like if my favourite "italian" movie reviewer watched the Roadhouse remake and reviewed it so i don't have to watch it 🥰
You really need to do all the Rocky films. I can't sit through Mint Salad.. I'm sure she's nice and all. Donthem all and then you can put them into an 8 hour plus vid. I've watched your Alien 8 hour plus vid multiple times.. you need to do this
Love you Tony, but could you please stop comparing Autistic people to mentally handicapped people. Autism is is a social disorder that has key differences from down syndrome. I have an autistic niece and from one uncle to another could you please stop. Love you man but it bothers me.

This episode is like Voltron coming together ❤😂 love seeing Trisha and Mr. Frank 😅
This has got to be one of the best episodes of the show
It's great seeing Trisha back with Frank.
I love Tricia and Frank. Separately and together. Love you too Tony 🎉
Thank God Frank is back. Legit like his vibe on the show.
Yay!! There back...great episode....
After watching Rocky, all the kids became Italian-Philadelphians.
Weeeeee!!!! Frank and Trish!! Been waiting for this episode!!
Your plushies are on set
Yaaay!

Keep up the good work Tony :) nice to see Trisha and Frank back too.
I'm always excited/wary when Tony whips out his Tricolore tracksuit.

@@trishasitaly You're quite welcome! :)
Welcome back, Trisha! 🎉
I have missed Frank and Trish for far too long.
Long have I waited...
YAY, Trisha's back!! One if the few girls who's nice to Tony.
Last time I saw her was in that Italian jaws episode 😂
The perfect trilogy, Trisha & Frank are the best when paired w/ Tony, like marinara & cab sauv! Let's GO!!!!..... EH, ROCKY!!!!
Not Italian nor I am I from Philly but I really like Rocky! I do have family in Pennsylvania though! Also yay for Trisha coming back!!
Mickey was clearly in it for the dough. Who is actually Rocky's biggest inspiration and die hard supporter? You guessed it, Frank Stallone.
Or so the Germans would have us believe...
Hey Trisha's back!❤❤❤

Tony we will never stop hating on you. sincerely your fanbase
Did Tony just ask 2 Italian kids if they have ever been in a house where people were yelling at each other and fighting.
Why is the most beloved athlete in Philadelphia history a fictional character?
Because Rocky. That's it.
Cause the Eagles fucking suck.
@@dreadpirateroberts5239mad your giants didn’t get close this year?😢
Tony isn't fictional
@@theitfactorjameswheezer2852 I dont even watch sports 😂😂😂

1:31:36 Rocky's birth name is Robert Balboa.
It’s required viewing for anyone, anywhere. Fucking seriously.
RIP Carl Weathers 😢

The most Italian review yet!
26:30 just in case anyone wants a good out of context clip... T-Bone says "I was Johanna's husband"
That's a classic one 😂
I’m sad you’re skipping Rocky 2, that’s my favorite one I cry everytime 😭
Rocky and Raging Bull are still two of the best boxing movies made to date.
FACTS
Two of the best MOVIES ever made.
Enjoyed the 15 minute review of Rocky, and and hour and a half of chatter about stuff unrelated to the movie.
So salty

Who knew day go is supposed to be a bad word? Where I’m from, we got a tattoo shop called Dago’s. 😊
Why did Tony spend so much money on a mask of Beavis as Dracula?
Rip Carl Weathers ❤
Mickey is actually Jewish it’s relived in 3 when he his put into a tomb that has a Star of David on it.

The problem with drinking raw eggs isn’t the risk of salmonella. It’s the ungodly nasty smelling farts it creates.
46:11 Now you gotta bring Trisha back on if you review Kung Fu Panda 2
Trisha is back and still looks beautiful.
Someone should make a cut of this episode showing only the parts where trish says italy or sicilia
HAHAHA please do
Supposubbly is getting harsh treatment meanwhile Tony's 'whatnot' use goes unchecked.
I didn't notice whatnots this episode. Am I the only one?
TRISHA IS BACK!!!!! YAYYYYYY!!!!!!! WHIP OUT THE BLACK AND WHITE COOKIES!!!!! As for this episode, I love the Rocky series!!!! Hated the video game
Never ran the Philly steps… ran the Gateway Arch steps once, 4 hour nap afterward
fun fact: this the first movie uses the "Steady Camera". love the ROCKY movies since I was in middle school.

Sega was the one I was thinking of
I've heard Stallone still has those two turtles all these years later.
Starcrash is also an MST3K episode. Hashtag Jonah episodes are good too
I like these people
I saw that at the theater when I was in the 3rd grade. That blows my mind
52:51 This scene does NOT play well today! It hasn't aged well at all. 🙅🏿♂️🙅🏿♂️🙅🏿♂️😄😆😆🤣😂😅😅
Please have them back for The Godfather II 50th anniversary review
I don’t like the karate kid but I love cobra Kai! That show is awesome, can’t wait for the last season

Review the other Rocky movies please? Love your show Tony and Crew. If you have Kiernan on the show, ask him if Adrian furiously masterbates lol
As a non Italian, this movie is very spaghetti
I heard there was an ending where the cheering crowd carried him out.
Heyyyy Burgess Meredith is my relative.
Rocky and rocky legends on xbox are the best rocky games ever released

You are wearing his sweater from rocky 4, or am I just imagining things ?
It's his sweater.
Tony doesn’t really like Rocky IV!?? How???
Have you seen Cinderella Man? That a good boxing movie
Mint Salad confirmed for Rocky III review!
when usaers talks about accents and all you hear they all sound exactly the same and repeat the same words exactly the same way
I dunno. Never experienced the negative Irish x Italian dynamic. I'm Irish and Italian women love me. 🔥🔥
Micky’s last name is Goldmill
Creed 3 was awesome 😎
What about The Garbage Picking Field Goal Kicking Philadelphia Phenomenon?
Rib off!
Another review so Tony can just brag about being Italian again. At least Johanna is done bragging about being engaged 😁
Please do Dario Argento movies!!!
Review Thank you for smoking.
i don't know about you guys, but i would really like if my favourite "italian" movie reviewer watched the Roadhouse remake and reviewed it so i don't have to watch it

I'll always love you Mercedes baby
I hate RUclips premieres.
I hate getting comments like this after 2020

You really need to do all the Rocky films. I can't sit through Mint Salad.. I'm sure she's nice and all. Donthem all and then you can put them into an 8 hour plus vid. I've watched your Alien 8 hour plus vid multiple times.. you need to do this
I also cannot stand anything Karate Kid. The NES game, the Netflix show, it’s all so bad.
No one should ever pay to see a movie with conor mcgregor. Disgrace to Ireland.
Where's Crystal?
Yep get rid of your laughing over nothing I would stay.. Nope I'm out
"Italians".... i hate to break it to you but if youre born in America..... youre AMERICANS.....
